Midland & Eastern Counties Welsh Corgi Club

Breed: Best in Sub Group (Welsh Corgi)

The Midland and Eastern Counties Welsh Corgi Club Ch Show 1st May 2022

I have judged at both Midland and Eastern Counties several times over the years and it was so nice to be able to make the final decisions at this first Championship show run by the amalgamated clubs. The original plan had been to hold the show at a hotel with the WCL at the same venue the previous day. Unfortunately the hotel became unavailable and this Club had to find a new venue. The new Whitwick Leisure Centre is impressive but took some finding as it is so new that they do not yet have a postcode. There is plenty of room and in these covid times it felt airy which was good.

The decision for BIS was not easy as both the Pembroke and Cardigan are top quality and both have accumulated many CCs. Best in Show went to Blances Ch Penliath Bill Me Later (AI). This Pembroke is as pretty as they come with the added bonus that she is a superb showgirl. A lovely example of balanced proportions and is just right for size. Put down in immaculate condition, she moves out with great drive and enthusiasm.

Reserve Best in Show the equally impressive Cardigan Cliftons Ch Joseter Frazer Nash.

Best Puppy in Show

Irvings Laif Spring Felicita at Twinan NAF RAF

A recent import at her first show and a real baby. Has a way to go yet but should finish well.

The two veterans were great with the Pembroke, Barlows Highworth Vanity Fair for Pendrell, just nudging ahead with her enthusiastic showmanship to take Best Veteran in Show.
