BOURNEMOUTH CANINE ASSOCIATION – Championship Show

Int. Ch/Ch Longdorham Follow the Dream OPEN STAKES   Any Variety Terrier, Pastoral or Working Open Dog or Bitch

I had judged the Open Show the day before, so returning the following day was a pleasure, knowing that everything was set-up and running perfectly.  All exhibits were clean and in tip-top condition.  Just not enough awards to go round.  The weather was very hot, there was plenty of shade and water had been provided for the exhibits. Everybody was happy, top marks to the committee.

1. Mrs. S. Hillier, Ch. Barembake Albufera at Charson: A 6yr old Briard dog with rich fawn colouring and shown in excellent coat. He is well up to size and of excellent type with a good out-line.  Loved his head carriage, his head is of a good size, no mistaking that he is a male.  I liked his good neck and super front. He has a good width on the wither allowing for his deep front and excellent lung room.  Plenty for bone, excellent top-line and good and good width on the back-end with plenty of muscle and good angles. Correct tail set with a ‘J’. Loved his hocks which he put to good use as he moved around the ring with ease.

2. Betts, Mr. & Mrs. Maureen & John, Pipadene Xtraa Hint of Chilli, JW: A 15mth old Bearded Collie bitch that is still changing coat.  She is a super feminine girl, showing all her attributes, neat clean head which was held prominently.  A good length of neck and super top-line.  Loved her back-end, good angles and plenty of muscle, being the athlete of the pastoral group, she was able to flow around the ring with ease.

3. Mills, Miss Stephanie & Chatburn, Mr. Richard, Zentaur Drop It Like Its Hot for Oialt, (AI), JW, OSW: A very nice 4yr old Newfoundland bitch that is of a lovely type with a good out-line.  She is well grown and mature for her age, excels in bone and muscle and has excellent width.  She handled herself well moving around the ring deftly.

4. Hartfield, Mrs. Patricia, Moshanta May Contain Nuts: A 3yr old b/w Border Collie dog that is a very masculine lad with clean out-line very pleasing on the eye.  He was well handled and moved well around the ring.

5. Spain, Mrs. A. & Spain, Mr. L., Ch. Talanors Diamond Tornado: A very nice 6yr old Manchester Terrier.  A dog that was well up to size and of a lovely type with a nice out-line.   Moved well at all times.   Pity he came up against the other the exhibits on the day.
