DRIFFIELD CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW

RETRIEVER (NOVA SCOTIA DUCK TOLLING)

PD (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st Sewell’s Littleclose Father And Son – six-month puppy lovely wedge head. Almond-shaped eyes and triangular ears that are set high and well back. Currently very immature in body as expected at this age. Well made with correct angulation fore and aft. Round tight feet. Moved with the jaunty action and good reach and drive while holding a level top line. Good tail set.
2nd Hibbs’s Serentan Serotinus Of Tolteko - This 11 month old dog was not cooperating with his handler today. High-set ears of smaller size. Strong neck. OK bone. Front and rear movement was good however profile not as fluid, but he did start to settle as the class went on to show reach and drive.

SBD (3 Entries) Abs: 1 1st Harrod’s Katimba Fortana - fully mature dog had the triangular ear of medium size, although set a little low. Broad skull and broader in the muzzle. Has good, strong bone and stands on tight feet. Level top line and short, strong loin. Moved OK with head carriage held almost level with back, with jaunty movement.
2nd Brand’s Coedhelyg Jingle All The Way - a younger dog to my winner and was just a bit unsteady in movement today. Loved his wedge head with a high ear set and used well. Almond-shaped eye blended well with the coat. Well laid back shoulder and forechest. Well sprung ribs. Nicely balanced dog who just needs to mature and gain more ring experience.

PGD (4 Entries) Abs: 0 1st Sewell’s Clegane Inferno To Breakerswell - Liked this dog for his height and size. He is well made and balanced with a broad, wedge-shaped head and clean-cut skull. He has good forechest and well-angulated fore & aft. Round, tight feet. Level top line and moved well once settled. Strongly considered for RBD.
2nd Copeland’s Eusanit It'll Be Reet At Menstonia - a taller dog but I loved his type. Broad head with high sets ears which he held correctly. Good front with a deep chest and good spring of rib. On the move he displayed the jaunty action with reach and drive. Just lacked the rear angulation of my winner.

OD (6 Entries) Abs: 2 1st Barker’s Sh Ch Eusanit Silvr Dream Machine - for me this dog is a picture of a Toller on stand and move. Well laid back shoulder and lovely forechest and return of upper arm. Clean cut, slightly rounded skull, wedge-shaped with triangular ears set high and well back above his almond-shaped eyes. Strong, level back held at all times. Well ribbed back with a strong loin. Standing on compact, round feet with strong bone. Moves true and is a pleasure to watch in profile with his reach and drive showing jaunty movement with good head and tail carriage. Pleased to award him Best Dog and his showmanship took him to Best of Breed
2nd Copeland’s Camusmor Bring Me Sunshine To Menstonia - A larger boy but lots to like about him standing on compact feet with strong bone and a straight front. Wedge-shaped head and almond-shaped eye with ears set high of medium size and triangular shape. Level topline good spring of rib and depth of chest with a short strong loin and level back. He moved true from all angles. Pleased to award him Reserve Best Dog.

VB (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st Anstead’s Sh Ch & Int Sh Ch Riverwatcher Pikpaktuk JW - this 9 year old bitch moved with reach and drive and showed the typical jaunty movement when the handler slowed her down. In good coat, she presents a very typey picture with her balanced size and correct construction throughout. She has good ear carriage and shape and almond-shaped eyes blending well with the coat. A level topline which was held at all times with good depth of chest with spring of rib. She has a good width of thigh and lovely rear angulation with a slight slope to croup.
2nd Greenwood’s Fallowfen's Bouncing Girl – This 7-year-old was not looking her best today with a lack of coat. However, that meant she could clearly show off her lovely outline correct construction with tight compact feet good bone for her size and a strong topline that she held at all times. She had lovely size and shape ears set high and well back above the almond-shaped eyes. She was being a pain on the move with either pacing or going too fast but when she did move, she was true.

JB (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st Wardrope’s Goldstar Struttin' Her Daisy Dukes - A lovely young bitch and I was really taken with her, with consideration in top honours she just needs time to finish maturing. Well made with good angulation fore & aft. Level topline with a slight slope to the croup. Standing on tight, round feet with tight elbows against good depth of chest and well-sprung ribs. She has a very feminine head showing the correct wedge shape with a broad skull. Straight front legs with good bone. Moved well and I think she will have a bright future.

SBB (3 Entries) Abs: 0 1st Greenwood’s Coedhelyg Jingle Bell Rock - nearly two years old of a beautiful type that pleased my eye. Well-constructed throughout and balanced. Feminine head yet maintaining a broad skull and wedge-shaped head. Ears are of good shape and size and correct eye. Good bone for size and moved well. The full picture of a Toller and another I considered in the top honours.
2nd Johnson & Shelbourn’s Erikachen Laoise - Another with a lovely shape and type in her body. For me I'd just like a bit more bone and she stands a little wide in front but it's straight she moved well with the level top line has a good depth of chest, well ribbed back with a strong loin.
3rd Grant-Shaw’s Coedhelyg It's Cold Outside

PGB (6 Entries) Abs: 1 1st Morse’s Eusanit Celtic Sea – This bitch has now come into her maturity and is something special. Moves with reach and drive and the typical jaunty movement. Broad in skull and wedge-shaped head. Almond-shaped eyes blend well with her coat colour. When she uses her ears they are set high, and are triangular of medium size. She has a lovely straight front with tight elbows. Strong neck leading into well laid-back shoulders and good depth of chest with spring of rib. Short, strong loin with a slight slope to the group. Pleased to award her Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex

OB (4 Entries) Abs: 0 1st Anstead’s Riverwatcher Koda - I have done this bitch well in the past and she still doesn't disappoint. A lovely straight front and tight elbows help against deep chest. Strong, muscular neck leading to well laid-back shoulders into a level top line. Short, strong loin, with tail set on slight slope to croup. Rear angulation to match her front and good width of thigh. She moves true and well from all angles showing reach and drive and jaunty movement. Head broad and wedge-shaped with good ear set and shape. Today she was just carrying a bit of weight although still has good muscle tone and definition to take Reserve Best Bitch.
2nd Westwood’s Eusanit Ever Fallen In Love - good bitch for type and size. Standing from the front she has good straight front legs with good bone and standing on tight, round feet. Broad skull and wedge-shaped head but lacks stop. High set ears with a round eye. Moves true for an aft. In profile she lacks the reach due to lack of upper arm but does have a good jaunty movement with well feathered tail carried above the back and alert.
