Gundog Group

Hugh thanks to the officers and committee of the South Wales Kennel Association for entrusting me the honour of judging their Gundog Group. From a very high quality competitive group I selected 10 for further consideration, Bracco Italiano, English Setter, GSP, GWP, Vizsla, NSDTR, Cocker Spaniel, ESS, WSS and the Weimaraner.

G1 - Alcorn & Ingram’s - Sh Ch Gunalt Hendricks (Weimaraner)

Judged this quality male at this show in 2019 when I awarded him BPIB, he was such a stunning puppy so not surprised he’s become a top winning gundog. He has a well proportioned head on clean neck, well laid shoulders into strong firm topline which is held on the move, straight forelegs with correct angulation at front and rear, loved he’s colour size and overall balance, such a great moving dog with he’s effortless ground covering movement.

Delighted to see him just being awarded RBIS.

G2 - Collin & Wildman’s - Oktumi Opalescence (Cocker Spaniel)

Another I’ve had the pleasure of judging before when I placed her Group 3 at Driffield. I just love this ultra feminine female with her bustling Cocker movement with ever wagging tail, she has a most beautiful feminine balanced head on clean moderate neck, firm level topline, is so well angulated fore and aft with wonderful cobby balance, her ground covering movement is so true with excellent drive, such great quality presented and handled to perfection.

G3 - Danks-Kemish’s - Sh Ch Ravensett Work Of Art At Alolfrana JW (English Setter)

This 5 year old male just oozes type and quality, he has the most loveliest of masculine well proportioned heads with such a gentle expression, loved he’s overall balance and confirmation, he looked the complete picture on the move with his accurate flowing free driving movement, he was shown in excellent coat and condition and another groomed and handled to perfection.

G4 - Allen & Bott’s - Sh Ch Trimere Tipping Point Of Allenie (ESS)

Another high quality male with excellent overall balance and construction, he has the most expressive well proportioned head, correct length of muscular neck into well laid shoulders, straight forelegs, level back, deep chest, he’s well ribbed with good bone and feet, has strong well muscled quarters producing excellent driving movement, he was also presented in tip top  coat and condition.
