East Of England Agricultural Society

Breed: Alaskan Malamute

Thanks to the exhibitors for their support and accepting my decisions so sportingly, it was challenging in the July heat for quite a few of the dogs. There were some lovely dogs present and I was really pleased with my main winners.

MPD

1. Loades’ Whitewalker’s Winter Snowolf. Very pleasing head and good overall balance, good bone and croup, moved well, especially in profile, really lovely feet and well muscled, BP.

2. Ellis’ Chayo Spellbinder. Acted his handler up a little bit but very typical head, just felt that he lacked the overall condition of 1 but moved really well and has good bone, good proportions, will be interesting to see how he develops.

JD 3(0)

1. Horsman/Horsman-Phoenix’s Snow Legend Zenith of Fame Nordicwinds (imp RUS). Shown in good muscled condition, would prefer a better croup although good bone and ok in profile, well handled and presented.

2. Brandenberg/Smith’s Chayo It’s Kurt for Taronakits. Just beaten on the move by 1, a bit loose still but better croup and good shoulder.

3. Innes’ Icycool Hudson Bay (AI). Quite pleasing, although just short on the leg at the moment.

GD 1(0)

1. Horsman/Horsman-Phoenix’s Snow Legend Zenith of Fame Nordicwinds (imp RUS).

PGD 3(1)

1. Hughes’ Casiat Giro D’Italia to Ukluk. Well conditioned and nicely muscled, good bone and good feet, excellent in profile.

2. Brhel’s Ready For Good Times Shamanrock (imp CZE). A bit longer in loin so unusual movement, would prefer a touch more leg but overall ok, just lost out in movement to 1.

LD 6(0)

1. Innes’ Icycool Atomic (AI). Lovely on the go round just handler needs to improve but good angulation fore and aft.

2. Horsman/Horsman-Phoenix’s Nordicwinds Grtest Showman JW. Well muscled just not the fluidity of 1 but good angulation.

3. Palasinska’s Anson Del Biago (imp ITA).

OD 2(0)

1. Jelfs’ Lapema Malizioso. Balanced, well muscled and good croup, nice bone and feet, well handled with good angulation, nice movement out and back and in profile, DCC & BOB.

2. Ellis’ Ch. Chayo Cause Celebre. Slightly heavier than 1 but lots of positive qualities, would prefer more croup and just lacked the enthusiasm of 1, although given the weather I think it was challenging for most of the dogs in this breed today.

VD 1(0)

1. Loades’ Ch. Snowolf Black Ice Buddy. Good bone and in excellent condition for a veteran Alaskan Malamute, well muscled, nice feet and outstanding on the move, well presented and handled, RDCC & BV.

SpBD 1(0)

1. Pitcher’s Red Flower Junior Del Biagio for Tatresiwok (imp ITA). Pleasing head and feet, would prefer more athleticism but moved well from the rear.

JB 7(1)

The strongest class of the day.

1. Nawrocka/Buckland’s Icycool Sweet As Sugar Monikoona (AI) NAF. Close call with 2nd but good bone and moved well, shown in lovely muscled condition, covered ground nicely and overall a really nice picture, BCC.

2. Innes’ Icycool Ottawa (AI). Just lacked the finesse of 1, mainly down to handling and well balanced and could swap places on a differrent day, moved lovely in profile, RBCC.

3. Horsman/Horsman-Phoenix’s Nordicwinds Miss Marvel.

YB 2(0)

1. Innes’ Icycool Ottawa (AI). Prev seen.

2. Quinn’s Artic Challenge Last Faith by Marchosias (imp POL). Well proportioned bottom end of standard and would prefer more substance, typical coat and moved ok.

GB 2(1)

1. Horsman/Horsman-Phoenix’s Nordicwinds Miss Marvel. This bitch was 3rd in a very strong junior class, balanced, well muscled and moved well in profile, to be commended coming behind the 2 principal winners in the bitch classes, still with time to go.

LB 2(1)

1. Vasarhelyi’s Okinastar All Of The Lights. Overall balance, very tight feet, ok croup, agreeable head and expression and moved ok but a little bit animated on the move.

OB 5(3)

1. Cameron’s Sutarka Sala Delle Asse. Balanced but would prefer more athleticism, agreeable head and well turned out.

2. Dobson/Wolfe’s Sutarka La Dolle Vita. Again would prefer more athleticism, moved ok and would prefer tighter feet, may improve chances with better condition.

VB 2(1)

1. Horsman/Horsman-Phoenix’s Nordicwinds American Dream JW ShCM. Satisfying quality for a veteran in this breed, fairly well balanced and moved nicely in profile, good bone and well handled.

SpBB 1(0)

1. Quinn’s Artic Challenge Last Faith by Marchosias (imp POL). Comparatively small at this age but moved well in profile and certainly carrying some good muscle, covered ground well.
