Breed: Canadian Eskimo Dog

Again, another challenging day for this sled dog breed with temperatures hotter than usual, judging was delayed for over 30 minutes with 3 calls on the tannoy due to a clash with the Breeders’ Stakes, however mindful that another breed was waiting to be judged we could not delay any further given the weather.

PD 2(1)

1. Bailey’s Akna Ice Station Zebra**. Good front angulation, a little rangy still, correct coat and medium bone, BP.

JD 2(0)

1. Needham’s Norstrela Pulsar Wind. Just a little bit more together at the moment, moved well in profile and well muscled with nice tight feet, RBD.

2. Atkins’ Qimugta S’Holmes. A bit loose in front still, covered ground when settled but still has time to develop.

OD 2(1)

1. Bailey’s Qimugta Judas by Akna. Lovely head, good bone and excellent movement in profile, good feet and shown in nice muscled condition, BD & BOB.

VD 1(0)

1. Needham’s Can Ch. Arcticice Qimmiq Jasper with Innugati (imp CAN). Nicely put together, good balance and muscle, pleasing head and moved lovely in profile and on the out and back.

PB 1(0)

1. McKinlay’s Carlotta Di Savoia (imp ITA) NAF TAF. Balanced but still very immature, nice in profile once settled, good croup and bone but overall nice make and shape.

JB 3(0)

1. Atkins’ Qimugta Miss Marple. Lovely fluid movement, balanced but still raw, good bone and feminine, good croup, lively on the go around.

2. Cronin’s Norstrela Lost Jewel. Balanced overall, handling needs to improve, glimpses of good movement but very difficult to assess.

3. Cronin’s Norstreala Tarantula.

LB 1(0)

1. Graham’s Akna Voorhees**. Again, still rangy, more upright in shoulder than I would like but very fluid on the move.

OB 3(1)

1. Needham’s Asiaq Queen Fabiola. Nicely balanced, shown in nice muscled condition, great mover in profile, good bone and really nice overall, RBB.

2. Atkins’ Qimugta Harpist. Just a little immature still, needs to fill out and it’s a hot day for a black dog but went well on the go around.

VB 3(0)

1. Atkins’ Can Ch. Akna Asavakkit** . 9 years, good bone, fluid movement around the ring, good feet, losing coat but can’t look past her, she’s a lovely example of the breed, BB & BV.

2. Atkins’ Akna Peechee for Qimugta*. Overall balance but just lacks the breed type of 1 although good in profile and nice substance.

3. Needham’s Akna Archangel with Innugati**.
