Scottish Kennel Club

Breed: Miniature Schnauzer

Many thanks to Scottish Kennel Club for inviting me to judge Miniature Schnauzers at their October Championship Show. Thank you to the exhibitors for presenting their dogs in tip top condition and for accepting my placements so sportingly.

Puppy Dog (3)

1. Bell’s, Glockens Let It Be, 10 months old with a very pleasing outline. He has a nicely balanced head with ears of good size set high, nice dark oval shaped eye. He has a good neck and topline, with balanced angulations front and rear. Coat of good texture and well presented, he moved well when settled. Best Puppy Dog.

2. Boyle’s, Stornovar Rocketman, very promising 6 months old puppy, he has a lovely shape and outline. He has a balanced head, with good head plains. Excellent bone and feet, would like him a shade better coming and going but he is already very nicely balanced in his sidegait.

3. Hammerton’s, Slain’s Squeak’s Lucky Charm.

Junior Dog (3)

1. Hood’s, Starbound What A Deer, 16 months old, very shapely lad who was beautifully presented and well handled. He has a very pleasing head, excellent head plains, high set on of good sized ears and nice eye with a keen expression. Good reach of neck, well defined withers, excellent topline and tailset. Good body proportions, he moved well coming and going, could have a shade more reach in front. Pleased to award him the Reserve Dog CC.

2. Hammerton’s, Slains Heidie’s Bumblebee, 15 months old, well presented and handled, this boy has a nice dark oval eye, ears of good shape and size set high. Good neck and topline, good coat texture, angulations are balanced front and rear. He is very nicely balanced on the move.

3. Hammerton’s, Slain’s Squeak’s Lucky Charm.

Post Graduate Dog (5,2)

1. Hammerton’s, Slain’s Heidie’s Bumblebee.

2. Black’s, Rynuan Sea The Stars with Zaandam, 3 years old, up to size, nice clean head with a good eye and ears well placed. Could have a slightly better flow to his topline, angulations are good in the rear, a little straighter in the front. A little narrow through the front on the move, very well handled.

3. Flynn’s, Risepark All The Rage at Rynuan.

Limit Dog (3,2)

1. Bell’s, Glockens I Predict A Riot, Black & Silver with a nice clean head, lovely dark eye and ears of excellent size set high on the head. Good reach of neck and lovely topline, he has good bone and nice tight feet. Would like him a little more balanced in angulations and on the move I would like him more positive from the rear, but he moves well in profile.

Open Dog (3,1)

1. Woods’, Ch Penbro Man About Town, 2 years old of good size, robust with a very nice outline. He has a well balanced head of good strength with good furnishings, nice eye, ears well set high on the head. Good reach of neck flowing into an excellent topline with a good tailset and nice harsh jacket. He has a good spring of rib and excellent depth of chest. Really good in profile on the move, very well handled and presented, pleased to award him the Dog CC & BOB and delighted to later see him shortlisted in the strong Utility Group.

2. Descere’s, Jackpot Tyras Akvamarinas, 3 years old Black who had a very nice outline in stance. Pleasing length of head with a nice dark eye and ears of good size, well placed. He has enough neck and a good topline with a good harsh jacket. Very well handled, he could have been a little more positive on the move.

Special Beginners Dog (1,1)

Puppy Bitch (3)

1. Londin’s, Wellingley Won For Mimi, 11 months old with a beautiful outline. This girl played a blinder today, she gave her handler 100% and every time I looked she was standing perfectly showing off her lovely shape. She has a balanced feminine head, with a nice dark oval eye, and ears of good size and shape well carried high on the head. Excellent reach of neck and flowing nicely into an excellent topline with a good tailset. Balanced angulations with a good underline and coat of good texture. Very nicely balanced sidegait, she was well presented and handled. Pleased to award her Best Puppy in Breed and Reserve Bitch CC.

2. Woods’, Penbro Talk of the Town, 9 months old quality puppy, well presented. She has a feminine head with a very nice eye. Lovely reach of neck and good flow into an excellent topline with a good tailset. Balanced in her angulations with good substance, her coat was a little soft, and on the move she could been a little more balanced, but am sure this will come as she matures.

Junior Bitch (2,1)

1. Bell’s, Glockens Kryptonite, 15 months old who is an excellent size and shape. She has an attractive feminine head with a nice dark eye and good ear placement high on the head. Nice reach of neck and she has nicely balanced angulations front and rear. Her coat is of good texture, she could be better coming towards on the move, but was very positive moving away and nicely balanced in her sidegait.

Post Graduate Bitch (5,2)

1. Davidson’s, Wellingley Way Ahead, 18 months old, very shapely with a beautifully balanced feminine head. She has a nice dark eye, ears of good size and shape, carried high on the head, good neck and excellent topline and tailset. Good bone and feet, she is nicely balanced in angulations front and rear. Very well presented and handled, she moved well in profile but would have just liked her a little more positive moving away.

2. Holland’s, Stockinpaws Atmospheric, 18 months old of nice size and shape, she has a pleasing head, good ear size and nice dark eye. Good reach of neck, but slight break on topline and it also shows on the move at this time. She could also improve a little more coming and going on the move.

3. Hainey’s, Rynuan I Got Style for Lundzing.

Limit Bitch (4,1)

1. Woods’, Penbro Blinder, 20 months old with a lovely outline, she has a balanced feminine head with a very nice eye. Good reach of neck, excellent topline and tailset, angulations are balanced front and rear, she was very nice in profile moving, I would like to see her more positive in the rear moving away.

2. Longdin’s, Wellingley Way Too Far, 17 months old and very close up to 1 in this class. She is a lovely type of excellent size and shape with a nice length of head, a nice dark eye and good ears set high. Good topline and well presented with good coat texture, moved freely.

3. Boyle’s, Stornovar One Vision.

Open Bitch (5)

1. Braithwaite & Neill’s, Ch Soletrader Penny Lane, very taken with this 2 year old bitch, excellent type, liked her size and shape. She has a balanced head, with a nice dark oval eye, ears of good size and shape, set high on the head. She has a good neck and excellent topline and tailset. Well presented with good coat texture and very well handled. She has a very nicely balanced side gait, would have liked her a little tidier moving away. Pleased to award her the Bitch CC.

2. Dawson’s, Gryselda Oh What A Night, a quality female of 2 years old, with a lovely headpiece and beautifully presented. Nice dark eye, ears set high, good reach of neck. Slight break in topline at times in stance. Balanced angulations, she moved well coming and going and has a pleasing side gait.

3. Woods’, Penbro Got You Talking.

1. Hainey’s, Rynuan I Got Style for Lundzing. Top size girl who was in Post Graduate class. Handler does a lovely job handling her, she has a balanced head with a nice eye, good topline and tailset, angulations are balanced front and rear, moved freely, could be a little more balanced in her side gait..
