SKYE TERRIERS

Not a huge entry and small entries in these vulnerable breeds is a worry. Thank you to those exhibitors who did enter and despite the entry being small in number overall it was quite pleasing.

1st: Mclean & Weir’s Rhoderns Hamish-this was the only male present on the day as the other two males entered were absent. He is just coming up to 12 months of age and therefore still has some developing to do. Pleasing overall proportions with a decent head and correct skull for his size. Possesses a well presented straight coat. Good in the rear, needs to tighten in front a little. Although in this breed of puppies are not really ready for a CC I could not deny his overall quality and awarded him the CC. He should make up.

1st: Heale’s RHODERNS HELENA- good type, feminine, is a good size, lovely black ear fringes which complimented her cream colour so well. Ears could be a little higher set. Good outline with decent neck. Not the most cooperative on the move and front a little untidy.

JB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Curtis’s Brakemill Midsummer Dream- both these girls are at a difficult age. This one presented a better outline, she had a good neck and good length of body. I would like a little more head on her and her topline needs to firm up. Time is on her side.

2nd: Kariya’s Larelkie Amazing Princess-not the neck or outline of the winner. Coat coming in well and texture was good. Needs a bit more ring training.

1st: Whincup’s GLEANNTAN LOOK AT ME AT PARTISKY (Imp USA)-interesting contest between these two. The winner had overall better proportions and was a touch lower to the ground. She is a good mover and beautifully presented. With maturity and development should do well.

2nd: Roberts’ Tarskavaig Speed Bonny Boat (CNAF)-good head on this girl. She was a little taller than the winner and not quite as settled. It will be interesting to see how she matures as her type is good.

3rd: Boothman’s Knowlespring Lacy for Caranath

1st: Mclean and Weir’s Knowlespring Miss Marple- very much my type – super outline and lovely straight cream coat. One of the best heads of the day. Was just a bit unsettled in the ring which pegged her for top honours as she was throwing herself around. Has loads of promise..

2nd: Roberts’ Megan Sunabil Tywysoges o'Libanus-this girl could do with a bit more skull. She fought the lead a bit but examined quite well on the table. Has a good rear. Will have better days.

1st: Mclean and Weir’s Kometa Rossi Gerbera at Rhoderns- save the best for last. This was a beautiful bitch, unmistakably feminine who presents a really good outline with decent neck and balanced length. Well presented . I liked her skull and her earset and she had a good reach of neck. Moved well both ends and held a firm topline. Is just a touch proud of her tail but it wasn’t offensive. CC and BOB.

2nd: Curtis’s Ch Verumamicus Aurora Of Brakemill JW-quality girl all through . Excellent head, good neck, lovely length well presented and sound both ways.I just preferred the size of the winner. Res CC

3rd: Parker’s Tweedsmuir Feebee Mine Sh.CM
