WHIPPET Dogs

I was looking forward to this appointment as it celebrated 40 years, almost to the month, since I first awarded CCs in Whippets. It was a memorable day with my daughter,Steph, as co-judge,something I would not have foretold all those years ago. Thank you to everyone who made our day, with all winners receiving enthusiastic applause and there was a great buzz around the rings. This was my last judging appointment in the breed and it certainly ticked every box.

2nd: 2277 MYCROFT, Miss Fiona & MYCROFT, Mrs Susan Supeta's Snap Crackle NPop, Totally different type and another still needing time to fill out.Appealing head type with good topline, well boned with plenty of spring of rib.Was standing a little straight in front and was unsettled on the move, but a quality boy.

1st: 2311 WHEELER, Mr Robert Ranveli Diki Diki,Upstanding brindle male of excellent quality.Typy head with lovely eye, strong reachy neck well let into clean shoulders.Still immature in body and lacked a little depth which would have completed his curvy underline.Firm, well muscled back, smooth over the loin into well muscled hindquarters.Steady sound mover.BPIB,GP1.

2nd: 2247 HIGGINBOTTOM, Miss ELLEN Natalie Dizzy Bear At Dawnsafon, not as strong in type and higher set, lacking body development.Skull a little too flet, ears could be finer.Well shaped topline but lacks bone substance allthrough.Fairly narrow mover.

2nd: 2232 DIMMOCK, Miss Tanya Selinko PathosTotally different type, head is in proportion to body but foreface too long for my taste.Long reach of neck with well anged front, maybe a shade too prominent in forechest.Overall, well shaped outline which won this placing.
