Breed Results

Firstly I would like to thank the Crufts committee for the invitation to judge at such a prestigious show, the exhibitors for making my day both memorable with the quality and quantity of dogs entered, and also for taking my decisions gracefully, applauding each and every one. The true spirit of dog showing. All in all, I think the breed is in a good place. I found a couple of dogs with overly sloping front pasterns. Apart from that I was very happy with the overall quality within the breed, with many a good dog missing out on either top honours and/or placings in some very strong line ups.

Wow what a start to the day, A dog I’ve previously given the ticket too, didn’t disappoint today, loved his type, classic head shape, almond shaped eye, clean head and correct length to neck, good shoulders and deep, well sprung rib, straight legs and good slightly sloping pasterns, clean level top line and strong in loin, well muscled behind and correct quarters, loved his free flowing movement and accurate foot fall, pushed hard for top honour, but on the day could only give him the RCC and Best Veteran.

2ND Riverwatcher Nukilik (Mr R & Mrs J Wakely). Another classy veteran of a good type, unlucky to come against 1 on the day, loved his outline when stacked with everything in the right place, found him in excellent coat on the day, sound mover just not as animated as 1.

3RD Ch Tivalake Jingle Bell Rock Shcm, Rl2, Sgwc (Mr N C & Mrs Y S Burchell). Dog I gave Best Veteran to last time out, didn’t disgrace himself again today, loved his head and super expression, good neck and shoulders, clean top line and strong rear, would prefer just an inch less of him all over, another who moved well for his age showing lovely reach in front and plenty of drive behind.

1ST Abacot Into The Unknown (Miss Hughes). 11 mth old and full of promise, lovely head shape with correct ear set, good length to neck set on well placed shoulders and good front assembly, maturing nicely for his age with deep chest and correct spring to ribs, level top line, short back and strong loin, liked his angles behind and found him in excellent coat, solid mover showing good straight lines and good drive behind.

1ST Cretshengan Torran Loch JW (ai) (Mr P G & Mrs J Fielder). Loved this young dog from the moment I saw him enter the ring. Filled your eye with his presence and thoroughly deserved to stand at the head of this class. Super head shape and correct ear placement, good neck and shoulders and correct straight front legs, lovely tight feet, correct rib for his age and level top line which he held on the move, good strength to loin, and correct tail set, found him in excellent coat today, muscled rear which showed in his fluent movement which was faultless on the day, pushing hard for top honours in the challenge, I’m sure his time will come sooner rather than later.

2ND Riverwatcher Paluktak (Mr A & Miss A Limerick & O’sullivan) Another super dog unlucky to come across 1 in such fine form, Slightly bigger cast than 1, but everything in the correct place, good head and expression, medium neck leading to well placed shoulders, good rib and with excellent double coat, strong in loin and good turn to stifle, moved well on day, held his head well and correct tail carriage on the move.

3RD Arthundur Dream Come True (Mrs A Ryder) slightly finer in type than first 2. Presented well when stacked, pleasing head and good expression with a good eye shape, clean neck and good shoulders, good top line and short backed, held top line well on move and showed good driving actions from behind, just preferred type of 1 & 2 on day.

1ST Riverwatcher Paluktak (Mr A & Miss A Limerick & O’sullivan) 2nd from Junior.

2ND Tempestas Gaston of Chicquera’s Crown (Miss N Vantorre) liked this boy from the off, but unfortunately found him slightly out of coat on the day, super head shape with well set ears, good almond shaped eye, moderate neck on well laid shoulders, good front with slightly sloping pastures and tight webbed feet, ribs reaching to elbow and well sprung, strong short loin and good top line which he held on the move, strong rear quarters with good angulation, moved soundly both in profile and on the away and return.

3RD Katimba Panti Rippa (S Savory) again slightly finer in type, liked his profile when stacked, pleasing head without any coarseness, good neck and well placed shoulders, correct body shape and size, muscular rear quarters, not dripping in coat, but enough to see his double coat, well handled on the move, showing good straight lines and good drive from behind.

1ST Tivalake My Lucky Star (Mrs M&p Bassil) Super class and this dog didn’t disappoint, liked his head shape and good eye of correct shape, well set medium size ears, correct length to neck and well laid shoulder, good front and tight feet, deep chest and well sprung rib leading to a short muscled loin, correct top line and good tail set, held his tail well both stood and on the move, good turn of stifle and liked his clean powerful movement, found him in good coat.

2ND Stellenbosch Krilencu (Mrs R Sim) another in good coat on the day, pleasing head with good eye shape and well placed ears, good length to neck and set on well laid shoulder, straight front legs, well spung rib and good loin, good angles behind which he used to full effect in his movement just not the top line of 1.

3RD Katimba Malvasia of Valsannra (Mrs J M Vaughan) darker type than 1 & 2 liked his overall shape, found him in good coat, good head and kind expression, correct front assembly, good rib and level top line when stood, good angulation behind, moved well with a good tail carriage.

1ST Tivalake Let's Misbehave JW (Ms D & Miss T Newson) Dog I’ve judge before who’s come on in leaps and bounds, stood at the head of a strong limit class. Classic head not over done in anyway, good neck and correct shoulders and good front with just right amount of fore chest, straight legs and tight webbed feet, well sprung ribs leading onto a well proportion and muscular rear quarter, loved his lines on the move, good top line and held both his head and tail correctly, powerful rear drive. Found him in excellent coat.

2ND Alter Ego Rustyfox (Imp Cze) (Ms C Wardrope) spoilt for choice in this class, another super dog who’s shape and type I liked a lot. Good head shape and ears correctly set on, good neck of medium length and well placed shoulders, good rib and level top line, strong in loin and excellent rear quarters, lovely balance on the move, held his top line well. Well coated.

3RD Melanitta Palmata JW (Mr D C & Mrs C J Ward) another who is on the darker red side. Balanced head and lovely shape to body. Straight front legs and level top line when stacked. Just preferring the rear quarters of 2 on the day, In good coat today, moved well with good drive behind and reach in front

My notes start “Wow what a class” completely spoilt for choice and on another day dogs who I couldn’t place today would most certainly warrant higher places.

1ST Am/amgch Foxvale’s Fire Fly Pcd Bn Re Ojp Nap Nfp Dcat Dn Dj Fdc Ratn Tkn (Ms B & Ms D & Ms D & Ms S Dorman & Gibbs & Smith & Einck Paul). What a showman, Beautiful shape when stood, every inch a Toller from his slightly wedged shape skull right down to his super strong quarters and perfect turn of stifle, correct ear carriage and super eye shape, flowing neck and super front assembly, straight front, Good rib leading to a well muscled loin and lovely rear, completely level top line which didn’t deviate as he effortlessly strode around the ring daring me not to pick him. Coat to die for, double coated of the correct length and texture. So pleased to Award him the CC, and BOB.

2ND Sh Ch Eusanit Silvr Dream Machine (Mrs P Barker) So unlucky to come against 1 on the day, another who was pushing for top honours. Loved this boys type, Lovely shape when stood, and found him in well coated, clean head and good expression and correct ear set. Medium neck set on well placed shoulders, good front and nice tight feet. Good rib, well sprung leading to good loin, and a super rear end with well turned stifles and well muscled thighs. Lovely mover, but not the panache of 1 on the day.

3RD Tivalake Make 'em Laugh JW (Mr N C, Mrs Y S & Mrs M Burchell & Scott) Lovely Dog of excellent shape and size, different type to 1 & 2. Good head and lovely expressions with correct almond shaped eyes, good front and deep well sprung rib, correct top line, good coat, strong loin and well angled behind, correct tail carriage both stood naturally and on the move, just a tad wayward going away and on the return today, but showed enough about him to merit his high place in this super class.

Super head shape to this bitch, liked her kind eye, medium length to neck sat on well laid shoulders, straight and true in front, good rib and found her in good coat, a tad bum high when stacked, but true and level on the move, good angles behind, which allowed her to move freely around the ring.

2ND Eusanit Cut and Run at Abacot (Miss Hughes). Close between these 2 just preferred the freedom of movement of 1, liked her head shape and well placed ears, good neck and shoulders, well sprung rib and level top line, in full coat, strong rear quarters, but nit picking just not the drive of 1 when on the move .

3RD Sh Ch Danehaven Vermilion for Afonbach ShCM (Ms A M & Miss A L Adshead). Another beautifully balanced bitch which left me spoilt for choice in this class, loved her outline when stacked found her in supe coat, good reach in front and drive behind on the move.

1ST Goldstar Struttin Her Daisy Dukes (Imp Usa) (Ms C Wardrope). 8mth old bitch with the sweetest of heads, good eye and correct ear set, good neck and well laid shoulders, straight front and tight feet, lovely shape when stood short backed and good angles behind, good coat. Balanced on the move with level top line and good tail set, straight line both going and coming towards. So Pleased to award her BP. One definitely to watch for the future.

2ND Sawbridge Lochbuie (Mr C & Miss K How & Farley). Just a bit overawed by the day, 8 mth of a good type with a good head and good expression and ear placement, found her in good coat for a youngster, but slightly bum high at this stage of her development, moved ok without setting the ring alight. I’m sure she’ll look different again once she settles.

1ST Danehaven Nouvel (Ms C Wardrope). Rangier type than 2 with less coat although still correct in texture and with sufficient double coat, good head and kind expression, correct length to neck and good front construction, correct straight front legs and tight feet, good rib for her age and clean top line, muscling up nicely and best mover in the class showing straight line in all directions and good drive.

2ND Stellenbosch Specularis (Miss S Chantler). Liked her type, but her movement today was not as fluid or strong as 1, good head shape and strong neck, in good coat and liked her shape and size when stood, good angles behind, and correct tail set.

3RD Stellenbosch Scutulata (Mrs A Foster-Brown). Another whose type I liked but today just let down by her front action on the move. Clean head, good neck and shoulders, and straight front, well ribbed and level top line, in good coat and correct tail set, good turn to stifle, just preferred movement today of the class winner.

Feminine head of good shape and size, good neck and correct shoulder placement, feet tight, good spring to rib and depth to elbow, short backed and strong in loin, right amount of coat, lovely rear end with strong thighs and well angulated stifles which allowed her to propel herself effortlessly around the ring. RCC

2ND Tollpepper Echo’s Hope for Skysaria (Dr B & Mr C Rolf & Parker). Of a similar type to 1, lots to like about her, clean feminine head of good size, well laid shoulder and correct front construction, level top line and well muscled loin, just preferred coat to 1 today, good rear quarters and correct tail set, moved well both in profile and on the up and down.

3RD Rosettia Shining Light (Mrs V & Miss L Sharpe). Liked this bitch’s shape and size when stood, free moving straight and true, nit picking in such a lovely class, would prefer tighter feet to her. Again found her in good coat.

On the day found her in correct double coat.

3RD Deveron Duchess of Danehaven (Miss D & Miss C Collins & Powley). Different type to 1 & 2 good head and expression, clean neck and correct angulation to front, level top line which she held on the move, good tail carriage and good angles to rear, liked her movement just preferred 1 & 2’s type.

My junior winner from my last appointment and if anything just gets better as she matures, loved her clean head, soft melting expression and well placed ears, good length to neck and well placed shoulders, best of fronts and correct tight feet, good depth to chest and well sprung, strong lion and best of angles behind, found her well muscled with super turn to stifle, in plenty of coat. Today she moved a dream with correct footfall and straight lines, loved this bitch then and certainly didn’t disappoint today, thoroughly deserved her CC and just unfortunate to come against the dog in such fine form in the final challenge.

2ND Ir Sh Ch Eusanit Best of The Bunch at Cretshengan (Mr P G & Mrs J Fielder). Days and classes like this makes me wish I could give out more than 1 ticket per sex, on any other day would have had the CC, but just preferred the type to my 2 principle winners, This bitch oozes quality and when stood shouts Toller, feminine head and good neck and shoulders, clean top line and in plenty of coat on the day, good rear construction and soundest of movers, straight both going and coming towards, correct tail carriage on the move.

3RD Cz Ch Anna Rossie Olaf Ze Stahlavskeho Sadu (Mr Tomas Makula). Good shape and size when stood, liked her head and good neck and correct shoulders, well developed rear which she used to her advantage on the move, in good coat.

1ST Abacot Into The Unknown (Miss Hughes). 11 mth old and full of promise, lovely head shape with correct ear set, good length to neck set on well placed shoulders and good front assembly, maturing nicely for his age with deep chest and correct spring to ribs, level top line, short back and strong loin, liked his angles behind and found him in excellent coat, solid mover showing good straight lines and good drive behind.

1ST Cretshengan Torran Loch JW (ai) (Mr P G & Mrs J Fielder). Loved this young dog from the moment I saw him enter the ring. Filled your eye with his presence and thoroughly deserved to stand at the head of this class. Super head shape and correct ear placement, good neck and shoulders and correct straight front legs, lovely tight feet, correct rib for his age and level top line which he held on the move, good strength to loin, and correct tail set, found him in excellent coat today, muscled rear which showed in his fluent movement which was faultless on the day, pushing hard for top honours in the challenge, I’m sure his time will come sooner rather than later.

2ND Riverwatcher Paluktak (Mr A & Miss A Limerick & O’sullivan) Another super dog unlucky to come across 1 in such fine form, Slightly bigger cast than 1, but everything in the correct place, good head and expression, medium neck leading to well placed shoulders, good rib and with excellent double coat, strong in loin and good turn to stifle, moved well on day, held his head well and correct tail carriage on the move.

3RD Arthundur Dream Come True (Mrs A Ryder) slightly finer in type than first 2. Presented well when stacked, pleasing head and good expression with a good eye shape, clean neck and good shoulders, good top line and short backed, held top line well on move and showed good driving actions from behind, just preferred type of 1 & 2 on day.

2ND Tempestas Gaston of Chicquera’s Crown (Miss N Vantorre) liked this boy from the off, but unfortunately found him slightly out of coat on the day, super head shape with well set ears, good almond shaped eye, moderate neck on well laid shoulders, good front with slightly sloping pastures and tight webbed feet, ribs reaching to elbow and well sprung, strong short loin and good top line which he held on the move, strong rear quarters with good angulation, moved soundly both in profile and on the away and return.

3RD Katimba Panti Rippa (S Savory) again slightly finer in type, liked his profile when stacked, pleasing head without any coarseness, good neck and well placed shoulders, correct body shape and size, muscular rear quarters, not dripping in coat, but enough to see his double coat, well handled on the move, showing good straight lines and good drive from behind.

1ST Tivalake My Lucky Star (Mrs M&p Bassil) Super class and this dog didn’t disappoint, liked his head shape and good eye of correct shape, well set medium size ears, correct length to neck and well laid shoulder, good front and tight feet, deep chest and well sprung rib leading to a short muscled loin, correct top line and good tail set, held his tail well both stood and on the move, good turn of stifle and liked his clean powerful movement, found him in good coat.

2ND Stellenbosch Krilencu (Mrs R Sim) another in good coat on the day, pleasing head with good eye shape and well placed ears, good length to neck and set on well laid shoulder, straight front legs, well spung rib and good loin, good angles behind which he used to full effect in his movement just not the top line of 1.

3RD Katimba Malvasia of Valsannra (Mrs J M Vaughan) darker type than 1 & 2 liked his overall shape, found him in good coat, good head and kind expression, correct front assembly, good rib and level top line when stood, good angulation behind, moved well with a good tail carriage.

1ST Tivalake Let's Misbehave JW (Ms D & Miss T Newson) Dog I’ve judge before who’s come on in leaps and bounds, stood at the head of a strong limit class. Classic head not over done in anyway, good neck and correct shoulders and good front with just right amount of fore chest, straight legs and tight webbed feet, well sprung ribs leading onto a well proportion and muscular rear quarter, loved his lines on the move, good top line and held both his head and tail correctly, powerful rear drive. Found him in excellent coat.

2ND Alter Ego Rustyfox (Imp Cze) (Ms C Wardrope) spoilt for choice in this class, another super dog who’s shape and type I liked a lot. Good head shape and ears correctly set on, good neck of medium length and well placed shoulders, good rib and level top line, strong in loin and excellent rear quarters, lovely balance on the move, held his top line well. Well coated.

3RD Melanitta Palmata JW (Mr D C & Mrs C J Ward) another who is on the darker red side. Balanced head and lovely shape to body. Straight front legs and level top line when stacked. Just preferring the rear quarters of 2 on the day, In good coat today, moved well with good drive behind and reach in front

My notes start “Wow what a class” completely spoilt for choice and on another day dogs who I couldn’t place today would most certainly warrant higher places.

1ST Am/amgch Foxvale’s Fire Fly Pcd Bn Re Ojp Nap Nfp Dcat Dn Dj Fdc Ratn Tkn (Ms B & Ms D & Ms D & Ms S Dorman & Gibbs & Smith & Einck Paul). What a showman, Beautiful shape when stood, every inch a Toller from his slightly wedged shape skull right down to his super strong quarters and perfect turn of stifle, correct ear carriage and super eye shape, flowing neck and super front assembly, straight front, Good rib leading to a well muscled loin and lovely rear, completely level top line which didn’t deviate as he effortlessly strode around the ring daring me not to pick him. Coat to die for, double coated of the correct length and texture. So pleased to Award him the CC, and BOB.

2ND Sh Ch Eusanit Silvr Dream Machine (Mrs P Barker) So unlucky to come against 1 on the day, another who was pushing for top honours. Loved this boys type, Lovely shape when stood, and found him in well coated, clean head and good expression and correct ear set. Medium neck set on well placed shoulders, good front and nice tight feet. Good rib, well sprung leading to good loin, and a super rear end with well turned stifles and well muscled thighs. Lovely mover, but not the panache of 1 on the day.

3RD Tivalake Make 'em Laugh JW (Mr N C, Mrs Y S & Mrs M Burchell & Scott) Lovely Dog of excellent shape and size, different type to 1 & 2. Good head and lovely expressions with correct almond shaped eyes, good front and deep well sprung rib, correct top line, good coat, strong loin and well angled behind, correct tail carriage both stood naturally and on the move, just a tad wayward going away and on the return today, but showed enough about him to merit his high place in this super class.

Super head shape to this bitch, liked her kind eye, medium length to neck sat on well laid shoulders, straight and true in front, good rib and found her in good coat, a tad bum high when stacked, but true and level on the move, good angles behind, which allowed her to move freely around the ring.

2ND Eusanit Cut and Run at Abacot (Miss Hughes). Close between these 2 just preferred the freedom of movement of 1, liked her head shape and well placed ears, good neck and shoulders, well sprung rib and level top line, in full coat, strong rear quarters, but nit picking just not the drive of 1 when on the move .

3RD Sh Ch Danehaven Vermilion for Afonbach ShCM (Ms A M & Miss A L Adshead). Another beautifully balanced bitch which left me spoilt for choice in this class, loved her outline when stacked found her in supe coat, good reach in front and drive behind on the move.

Balanced on the move with level top line and good tail set, straight line both going and coming towards. So Pleased to award her BP. One definitely to watch for the future.

2ND Sawbridge Lochbuie (Mr C & Miss K How & Farley). Just a bit overawed by the day, 8 mth of a good type with a good head and good expression and ear placement, found her in good coat for a youngster, but slightly bum high at this stage of her development, moved ok without setting the ring alight. I’m sure she’ll look different again once she settles.

Rangier type than 2 with less coat although still correct in texture and with sufficient double coat, good head and kind expression, correct length to neck and good front construction, correct straight front legs and tight feet, good rib for her age and clean top line, muscling up nicely and best mover in the class showing straight line in all directions and good drive.

2ND Stellenbosch Specularis (Miss S Chantler). Liked her type, but her movement today was not as fluid or strong as 1, good head shape and strong neck, in good coat and liked her shape and size when stood, good angles behind, and correct tail set.

3RD Stellenbosch Scutulata (Mrs A Foster-Brown). Another whose type I liked but today just let down by her front action on the move. Clean head, good neck and shoulders, and straight front, well ribbed and level top line, in good coat and correct tail set, good turn to stifle, just preferred movement today of the class winner.

Of a similar type to 1, lots to like about her, clean feminine head of good size, well laid shoulder and correct front construction, level top line and well muscled loin, just preferred coat to 1 today, good rear quarters and correct tail set, moved well both in profile and on the up and down.

My junior winner from my last appointment and if anything just gets better as she matures, loved her clean head, soft melting expression and well placed ears, good length to neck and well placed shoulders, best of fronts and correct tight feet, good depth to chest and well sprung, strong lion and best of angles behind, found her well muscled with super turn to stifle, in plenty of coat. Today she moved a dream with correct footfall and straight lines, loved this bitch then and certainly didn’t disappoint today, thoroughly deserved her CC and just unfortunate to come against the dog in such fine form in the final challenge.

2ND Ir Sh Ch Eusanit Best of The Bunch at Cretshengan (Mr P G & Mrs J Fielder). Days and classes like this makes me wish I could give out more than 1 ticket per sex, on any other day would have had the CC, but just preferred the type to my 2 principle winners, This bitch oozes quality and when stood shouts Toller, feminine head and good neck and shoulders, clean top line and in plenty of coat on the day, good rear construction and soundest of movers, straight both going and coming towards, correct tail carriage on the move.
