Thank you to those that ventured out in the current climate of spiralling costs of just about everything I was pleased to see few absentees and a good numerical and qualitative entry overall.
Veteran Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0
1st Place Wykenite Dynamite (Mrs A & Mr K Ling) 10 year old male in excellent body condition. Handsome head and eye, clean skull. Good balance of neck to body and length. Good shoulders and nicely muscled, moved soundly wagging his tail. Credit to his owner. Not phased by being with a handler he didn’t know. Which is testament to the temperament of our breed.
Puppy Dog Entries: 3 Absentees: 1
1st Place Montana Devil Made Me Do It (Mrs N & Miss K Watkins). I don’t think the devil could make his puppy do anything he doesn’t want to ! Full of a wicked expression and poodle temperament. When he settled his reach and drive were sound, held his square shape well on the move. Would like a cleaner skull, but this does not detract from a handsome face, good eye, nice square muzzle and chin. Chiselled as he should be which makes his expression. Well made and in excellent body and muscle. Good feet ! Good tailset. Should mature well.
2nd Roman Around (Mr P Marsh) slightly longer cast male than 1. Another in good body and muscle. Good shoulders and deep in rib and chest. A pleasing head although another with a little more back skull than I would like Not as settled on the move and wanted to race away so his topline suffered from poking. Would benefit from scissoring underneath and way from his tail to enhance the shape he has. Has potential though to blossom.
Junior Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0
1st Sunstone for Volgarus (Mrs J Wells) Gorgeous brown male on good legs and feet, in excellent body condition. Short backed and deep in rib .Has the reach and drive and sound movement when he settles. Has a pleasing topline from the side. Holds himself well. Dark eye and good foreface, all male. Presented immaculately. In the challenge he was less settled on the move which cost him further consideration.
2nd Tarquas High Jinxx (Mrs L Hosking) Black male in reasonable coat. Made well with good shoulders . Handsome head and eye and of good general angles and proportions. Needs to mature in body and mind as he wasn’t quite so sure and that showed in his movement today.

1st Arrowflight Top Hat (Mrs A & Mr K Ling) Really smart dog, when he is stood he gives a beautiful outline, upstanding and poodle. Well laid shoulders on a good body, forechest and rib. Nicely muscled, straight front and tight elbows. Loved his head and eye, so masculine but refined . Chiselled nicely creating that true poodle expression. On the move he was sound and light on his feet, but was intent on looking around, so a lack of his concentration just spoiled his side profile. Considered him for the CC and Res but in the last run outs was more intent on being anywhere but there and that cost him today. He has a bright future though and I’m sure he will title.

1st Montana's Black Russian (Mrs N & Miss K Watkins) Well this male was a surprise today. An honest boy, all boy in absolutely excellent body condition. Lovely shoulders sat on a deep rib and forechest, short loin and good legs. In excellent coat of dense coarse condition and immaculate presentation. He is steady and confident on the move- but still possess that wicked poodle temperament shown in his poodle expression as he looked down his nose at me. Beautiful chiselled head and eye. Good tailset although carries it over . Clean lines going away and straight front coming back. Really lovely topline and shape on profile maintained stood and on the move. In the final throws he took this just on overall shape, honesty and steady movement. CC. I really hope he picks up his third.
2nd Michandy Back in Time at Pupstar (Mr A & Mrs S Lee-Morris) Immaculately presented upstanding male in excellent coat and condition. So much to appreciate about this boy. Lovely lay of shoulders , excellent in rib and chest. He is so handsome. Masculine head and eye. Carries himself effortlessly on the move.really drives out and reaches forward. This exhibitor really has mastered this trim and he looks beautiful in it. Crisp dense black coat.
3rd Shanandi I Should Be So Lucky (Mrs P & Mrs B J Farndon & Cherry)
Open Dog Entries: 3 Absentees: 0
1st Place Michandy Turn Back Time JW (Miss J Kitchener) Another top draw exhibit from this kennel. Wealth of mature dense coat, over a solid muscled body. Scores in rib, chest and forechest. Wealth of neck set on good shoulders. well muscled throughout. Handsome in head, nice dark almond expressive eyes. sound on the move, and has a really outstanding profile. Excellent set and tail carriage .Suits this trim much better !. Res CC and I have no doubt he will take his crown with ease.
2nd Place Volgarus Wishing Well (Mrs J Wells) at first look very much my type of male. Square and cobby, short backed, wealth of manicured Brown coat . Another exhibit in superb body and muscle throughout. Has a really smart profile . Would like better feet. Straight in front and angled well behind. Just erratic on the move and not carrying his topline as steadily and consistently as 1.

Veteran Bitch Entries: 1 Absentees: 0
1st Ir Ch Bielcee Black Caviar (Mrs K J Walsh) Glorious at 9 years. Still so black. In exceptional body condition, on a straight sold front and one of only few all day that had correct beautiful tight knuckled feet. The most exquisite expressive head and eye that just looked through me with distain ! She is light and true on the move and thoroughly enjoyed being out with a consistent wagging tail – set right and carried well.
Minor Puppy Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees:
1st Michandy Realistic (Miss J Kitchener). This puppy walked in, stood, demanded all the attention, moved like she owned the place and that was that ! A very exciting puppy indeed. She is feminine, well made, really mature in body. Excellent coat texture, the best of expressions and eyes on a clean skull. She has reach and drive for days and holds herself like a professional on the move. Effortless and poodley. She has real spring of rib and depth in her chest and a forechest that some of the males should have. Strong straight front and angular rear. Excellent tail set and carriage. Still all puppy in the right places and loving life ! Amusing to watch her and 2. Striding with reach over the grids on the floor- showing real drive and correct confirmation.
2nd Somanic Limited Edition for Bielcee (Mrs K J Walsh) taller cast bitch than 1, and scored here on her movement, which matched 1 in many ways. She has pretty head, would like a darker eye to be critical. Another in excellent condition for her age. Solid and sound through. Feel she would benefit from more refined trimming to accentuate her rear angles. In profile just not the head carriage or attitude of 1.
3rd Donaska Pussy Galore (Mrs A Thirlaway)
Puppy Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 0
1st Volgarus Candid Clara (Mrs J Wells). Well Oh My. Cream bitch. The deportment of this bitch is like that of one older in her years. Her silhouette is all poodle, effortlessly so. Beautiful tight feet. Square and solid, body condition is muscular, and whilst a pretty girl she is made of solid bones, depth and angles. Still playing like a baby which is wonderful to see, when she does put all her legs into motion it is poetry. Another with excellent feet Exquisite clean head, chiselled foreface, expressive small dark eye. Set against the crisp cream dense coat- excellent coat for the colour. Put down in immaculate presentation. Delicate and elegant. Sound coming and going. Carries herself with such aplomb . No effort required. Absolutely cannot be ignored. Top draw. Res cc and Best Puppy. With the Minor puppy bitch so close up, I can feel a real competition between these two coming up. There is no question that both will gain their titles and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they both title from Junior. The bar is definitely set !.
2nd Donavika Poison Ivy (Miss N Priestley) I really liked this puppy bitch too. Taller than 1, full of quality another with a lovely shape. I loved her head and dark eye, with a wicked glint. Nice shoulders, and good muscle. She really moves effortlessly. Carries her tail that is well set. Has a really positive side profile and shape stood. Handler needs not to rush This bitch moves herself. A very exciting prospect, should really mature well. Should be a very proud breeder of this bitch. She could be competition in time.
3rd Chesterhill Glamazon (Mr M R & Mr C Davidson & Johnstone)
Junior Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 3
1st Ivenza Diamonds Are Forever (Miss A C & Mrs S M Ive) A cheeky girl, with free movement and really easy reach and drive. She handles well and was pleasing in front assembly and body. Good neck and a pretty head and eye nicely chiselled and good chin. Would like more hair off her underneath and a sharper trim to compliment her shape. She will be a bitch that will get better and better, her handler needs more confidence to complete the team. Just needs to get a grip to be competitive, that will come- you can’t rush a good thing.
2nd Brightest Hoku (Miss J & Mr R Tofts & Simpson) Brown bitch of smaller type than 1. Moves well, but hasn’t yet mastered her topline carriage. She is well made and solid. Stands on good legs. Correct tail set and carriage. A balanced head for her body , but a little too much of her skull and face for me . Good eye and chiselling just coming in. Good solid colour brown.
Yearling Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 4
1st Arrowflight La Belle Du Ball (Mrs H Lunnun-Turner) Stood this bitch is just beautiful. Classical head and eye. Feminine and delicate but sturdy and made on a good body and straight front. Good shoulder lay and length of back. Muscular rear and lovely thick root tail set correctly and carried well. Reminds me so much of her mother. On the move though she was erratic today- she rushed in rushed around and didn’t settle into a rhythm. She has sound reach and drive, but by rushing just unbalanced her topline. A real shame as I really thought she was a contender today. With several chances she didn’t want to play ball. I know she will title. She is too beautiful not to. Just today was not her day.
2nd Brightest Hoku (Miss J & Mr R Tofts & Simpson)
Post Graduate Bitch Entries: 2 Absentees: 1
1st Tinkersdale Destiny Sent to Minamia (Miss K Mcgreevy) A cobby little bitch, very pretty head and eye, all in proportion. Would like a little more work in her face to finish it. Put down immaculately. she is made nicely and has a good shoulder and a straight front. Needs to body up to complete this. On the move she was sound, but erratic in places. And tending to poke her head outwards. I think had she been moved slower she wouldn’t have done this, so just needs to slow down to suit her size. She is ultra feminine and lots to like.

1st Surprise Surprise Starianna (Miss S White) This was definitely a Cilla moment. I have not seen this bitch before and was told it was only her second show. I don’t think there are enough superlatives to describe her. Full of attitude, quality, top draw bitch and she knows it ! Super to handle, and she too is so feminine with the body of a warrior. Muscled, solid, good bone, beautifully made front and forechest. Best feet of the day, short backed, square and balanced. Her head is just a text book masterpiece. Chiselled, feminine, dark ear glaring at me like I need an appointment. Chin and stop both spot on Clean skull. Super rear angles and drive. On the floor she comes alive. collected and maintaining her poise at all times. Sound, fluid, and free. Not rushed. In excellent manicured coat condition, but not overcoated detracting from the dog underneath. She reminds me so much of one of my own past Champions. Couldn’t deny her CC and BOB on her maturity. She was pushed hard by both puppies. It would be criminal for her to not gain her crown.
2nd Lotsmoor Sunshine JW (Mr P A Young) This apricot really surprised me today. She is absolutely beautifully made. Another with the right feet ! Squarely made and muscled in good body condition. Excellent front and rear assembly. She has a good head and eye, a chin and excellent pigment.Nice rib and chest and short coupled. She moves so soundly in front and rear, but in profile was carrying her topline out of balance.
3rd Mapleburn Sentosa at Silvora (Ms E & Mrs A Hunter & Murphy)
Open Bitch Entries: 3 Absentees: 1
1st Ch Sarum Shirley Not Donaska JW (Mrs F Bruce) Mature bitch in excellent coat and presentation. An honest and worthy Champion . Aa really pleasing picture stacked. Another that clearly puts in the miles as she is muscled hard throughout. She had a good shoulder, straight front , tight elbows and strong rear. Depth and spring of rib. Carries her tail correctly. She had a nice head and dark eye, good chin. Going away she really drives and coming back she is straight in front, although she tended to carry her head out away from her handler . in profile it made her look like she pokes, which spoilt her outline. Unfortunately she was in a challenge of bitches that brought their A game.
2nd Volgarus Keeping Promises (Mrs J Wells) Another bitch that stacked looks breath taking. Beautiful shape, and presentation is first class. Nice to handle in body, good shoulders and short back, good angular rear which she uses. A pretty face and a dark eye. Framed by a wealth of topknot to her advantage. On the move she was sure and steady, but not the enthusiasm or consistency of 1. Close run though.
