Bournemouth Canine Association

Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback

Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge your well-run show, to all exhibitors who entered and to my excellent steward Mike, who made sure the day went smoothly.

Temperaments were excellent. Ridges, while there were a few offset crowns they were within what I’d consider acceptable therefore I’ve not commented individually. There were some less than perfect scissor bites, and these were reflected in my placings. Overall, I was delighted with the quality of exhibits, there are some exciting youngsters which I will follow with interest.

1st: 4321 GEEVES, Mr Andrew Peter & GEEVES, Mrs Sharon KIROMOL THE KINSMAN at just 6 months this red wheaten male is raw as you’d expect, but has everything in the right place. Handsome, he has a lovely dark round eye with a kind expression and his head is well-proportioned throughout. Good reach of neck, he scores in front assembly with a lovely lay of shoulder, equal return of upper arm putting his legs well under him with ideal elbow placement and well filled forechest. Lovely bone and feet. Good depth of chest for age with good top and underlines. Nicely balanced rear to compliment, with a low hock and well turned stifle. He was understandably exuberant on the move as he learns his craft, but he has good reach and drive and his lovely balance throughout meant he could not be denied Best Puppy In Breed.
