LADIES KENNEL ASSOCIATION – 11 DECEMBER 2023 – GORDON SETTER

Overall I was pleased with the quality of the exhibits; mouths were good with the vast majority having correct scissor bite and just a couple that were almost level, but not quite. Tans varied but were mainly clear with not too much black in them. This breed does have a height standard and some bitches were nearer to the size for a dog; some exhibits had coat that was so profuse on their hocks that it was difficult to correctly assess hind movement. Several exhibits were moving very close behind and lacked drive however this may have been due to the rather slippery floor in the ring but I can say I was delighted with the quality of my winners and had to split hairs for BOB over 2 lovely examples of the breed.
