LEEDS CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

It was an honour to be invited to judge at this prestigious, well run show. The weather was mainly dry, with the odd shower until later in the day when the heavens opened. I found some beautiful quality dogs. Temperaments were good and dentition has improved since last I judged. I was thrilled to see my BoB winner win the Gundog group and then go on to win BIS. I was also really pleased to see my BP win the Gundog puppy group after.

Stylish Tri dog, balanced head with soft expression. Good length of neck, well laid shoulders, super front. Used himself well holding his topline with correct slight slope. Good tailset. Plenty of coat of correct texture for his age, should have an exciting future.

Buff dog in lovely coat. A little plain in head at the moment. Very well put together with an excellent front which enabled him to move with forward reach. Good spring of rib, firm topline which he held on the move, covering ground well

Two nice 13month old youngsters

1st: JONES, Miss Keri Ann & JONES, Mrs Moya ARROWBIEN GIN KING

Up to size tri dog who I’ve like for a long time. He has a lovely balanced head, correct bite with good sized teeth. Lovely arched neck, firm topline, good tailset and well angulated rear. He just needs more weight to complete the picture. Won this class on his movement

2nd: KIRTON, Mrs Denise L & STANTON, Mr M & DACKOMBE, M Sabisabi Iroquois Eyota

Pleasing R/W with an attractive head with good dentition. Well made body with good ribs, short coupled, lovely coat. Good topline and tailset, close up to one.

2 year old tri dog. Compact, balanced dog. Correct balanced head with plush muzzle and dark eye. Well made throughout with good bone. He moved well but his topline levelled out. Very sound dog with lots to like.

2nd: DUMMETT, Ms Bev Letjashaja Ptitsa Saint Pierre At Almondsbury (Imp Rus)

Up to size tri dog, good head with moderate neck. Large ribcage with plenty of bone and short coupled. Tailset appeared a little low, but this could be because he was carrying to much weight, sound dog and well presented.

3rd: SUNTER, Mrs L & PINCHEN, Miss Ruby Gypsy King At Kenoula

Strongest class of the day with 4 stunning, quality dogs.

1st: GUSSONI, mr. Leonardo Am Int It Silver Pine I'll Fly Away(ATC BRA)

Immaculately presented black dog that took my breath away as soon as he entered the ring. He has the most exquisite head, perfectly balanced with a soft expression and correct dentition. Long, arched neck, beautifully laid back shoulders, and good length of upper arm. Plenty of heart room. Nice length of rib, well sprung, and short in coupling. Tailset is bang on. His rear is well angulated, and he powered around the ring with great reach and drive, holding a rock hard, slightly sloping topline. CC, BOB, Group 1 and thrilled to see him go BIS. Well deserved.

2nd: GOMEZ, Mr Antonio Am USA GCH CH Scottfree There's No Business Like Show Business

Another top quality dog. This 2 year old buff is really good to go over. He has a super front construction and holds his topline well on the move. Good length of neck and well sprung ribs. Correct tailset and nice bend of stifle. He is a little longer in coupling than one and a little long in foreface for me. A lovely dog though that is sure to do well. RCC

Very pretty 7mth black bitch in lovely coat and well presented. Her expression is melting, with a dark eye and plushy foreface. Arched neck into well laid shoulders, tight elbows and good heart room. Well sprung ribs and short coupled, with good tailset. She really covered the ground with great extension and drive. Pleased to award her BP and thrilled to see her win PG1

2nd: ARROWSMITH VORDERSTRASSE, Mr Kevin & Klaus Arrowbien Elizabeth Swann CNAF NAF TAF

Another lovely puppy. Tri with a pretty head, eye rim needs to tighten. Similar remarks to one apply. Gorgeous coat and presentation. She was a little bit wary today and tended to drop her tail, but she has plenty of time to allow her confidence to grow and I think she will do very well.

Eye catching B/T bitch. Lots to like. Attractive head with dark eyes. Long neck, good ribs. I would prefer more forechest and heartroom. Moved well and was beautifully presented.

1st: MANSER, Mrs Amy & MANSER, Mr Jaxson Beachstone N Nujax Straighten Your Crown (Imp USA)

Stunning Choc/Tan 14mth old bitch. She’s not a big girl but she is certainly all there under her beautifully presented coat. Plenty of bone and substance, beautiful balanced head, excellent neck and shoulders, hard back with slopping topline and good tailset. Good spring of rib, short coupled and well angulated. Powered around the ring presenting a fabulous outline, love her and pleased to award her the CC.

2nd: LANGTON, Mrs Yvonne & MORRIS, Mrs Victoria Sabisabi Iroquois Tiva at Jennobar

One I’ve admired since a puppy. R/W in lovely coat. She certainly didn’t disappoint. Good plushy head, dark eye and correct dentition. Super neck, front, topline and tailset. Ribs are well sprung and correct length, short coupled and good bend of stifle, well set tail. Moved out well and pushed hard one hard. RCC

3 yr old R/W bitch with a balanced head and good expression. Well made throughout with no exaggerations. Decent length of neck, correct shoulder placement, well sprung ribs and good tailset. She was moving freely on a loose lead, but lost her topline a little, lots to like.

2nd: MORRIS, Mrs B Mycalleys China Doll

Bigger type than 1. Head was ok, if a little broad in backskull, good reach of neck. Good bone and big ribs. She wasn’t using herself today and lost her topline on the move.

1st: JENNINGS, Mr D K Alibama Brownie Points

Another I have liked for a while, whilst not a big bitch, she is compact and well put together under her coat. Too be critical I would like a little more neck, but she has a good front and rear and holds a firm topline. She moves very well and is eye catching.

2nd: MANSER, Mrs Amy & MANSER, Mr Jaxson Sh Ch Nasailleen Secret Agent At Nujax

A taller black bitch in great coat with a lovely plushy head. Good length of neck, hard topline, correct tailset. Would prefer more heartroom and she wasn’t giving her best on the move. A lot to like about her though, and these 2 could change places on another day.
