SWKA CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 9 OCTOBER 2022

DACHSHUNDS – MINIATURE LONGHAIRED

I wish to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge today

I had a very enjoyable day and was very well looked after

Many thanks as usual to my hard working and super efficient steward

I do my best to stay away from social media and have any pre conceived ideas or opinions until see the dogs on the day, so I thank you all for your entries and seeking my opinion. It seems to be quite the norm to have a very mixed bag, no matter which of the 6 varieties you see, there are quite a lot of differences in type. The international influences are more noticeable now so comparing the different types is certainly trickier. All were very clean, and well presented thank you

I was surprised at how many came close to the weight limit, and size variation is quite extreme. Staying underweight should not produce animals which come close to looking like toys, breeders need to find the happy medium.
