LKA. Pyrenean Mountain Dog

Numerically a very good entry, although quite a number absent on the day. I was happy with the quality. On this showing the breed is moving in the right direction. Fronts are definitely better, however rears now need some attention, too many lacked turn of stifle and angulation at the hock. Heads were generally typical, and it was good to see some wheeling on the move – although this was a minority of the entry. Lots of close decision and several potential winners.

Very typy d. Liked his head, slight stop, well placed eyes and a lovely expression. Correct neck. Well laid shoulder. Deep chest. Ribs go well back. Level topline. Moderate rear. Easy profile action but rather untidy in front. Uses his tail well.

2nd: 3460 DEARMAN, Ms S & HENSON, Mr M Lisjovia Eternal Guardian for Pyrekees

Liked him. Masc g, not quite the head of 1. He has a good eye and expression. Correct neck. Rather moderate in his angulation, but balanced. Topline rises slightly. Balanced stride. Uses tail.

Very typy d, who had just a bit more stride than 2. Good head, slight stop, better expression than 2. Correct neck. Well laid shoulder. Deep chest. Good legs and feet. He is v well ribbed back. Holds a level topline. Correct bend of stifle and hock. Accurate on move with an easy stride. RCC

Lovely type of d with a v good head. Well placed eye. Correct neck. Slightly more moderate in angulation than 1. He has a deep chest. Well ribbed back. Level topline. Good tail carriage.

Well balanced in his outline and a v easy profile mover. Head is ok. Not too much stop or too broad although wouldn’t want any more of either. Dark eyes. Correct neck. Fairly well laid shoulder. Could be wider in front. He has a super body, well sprung ribs back to a firm loin. Holds his topline. Enough hind angulation. Could be tidier in hind action. CC

Liked his head the best in class, just lacked the power in his rear of 1. Correct neck. Slightly forward in shoulder. Fairly deep chest. Well ribbed back. Correct topline. Well bent stifle with low hocks. More moderate in profile action than 1.

Fem b who was best mover in class. Liked her length of body but ideally could be slightly longer in leg. V good head, slight stop. Dark eyes and a v good expression. Correct neck. Well laid shoulder. Long, sloping upper arm. Well ribbed. Level topline. Enough hind angulation. Fairly accurate out and back. BV

2nd: 3495 THOMAS, Mr Charles Peter Shiresoak Snow Patrol

Very typical d. Masc head, slightly deep and wide in stop. Correct length of neck. Just needs a bit more width between his front legs. Super ribcage and body. Level topline. Fairly moderate rear. More accurate moving than 3.

V promising pup who has a very easy profile gait. Super head, feminine with enough strength. Super eye and expression. Correct neck. Well laid shoulder. Good ribbing. Level topline with correct tail carriage. Moderate rear. Just needs to firm in out and back action but a v good prospect. BP

Very promising typy fem b, obviously still needing to mature. She has a v good head, lovely eye and expression. Correct neck. Well laid shoulder. Just a bit upright in pastern. Well ribbed back. Level topline with good tail carriage. Moderate hind angulation. Very easy stride.

2nd: 3491 SYKES, Mr David John & SYKES, Mrs Denise Penellcy You've Got The Love

She too has a super head. Correct neck well laid shoulder. Deep chest. Well ribbed. Well bent stifle and has low hocks. Not quite moving as well in the rear as 1.

First 2 were really close up.

1st: 3472 HALL, Mrs Lynn & HALL, Mr Craig Lisjovia Scotch Solace

She is fem, not quite as good in head as 2 but better in front and topline. She has dark eyes, v good pigment and a lovely expression. Correct neck. Well laid shoulder. Deep chest. Wouldn’t want her any longer. Moderate rear. V easy profile stride.

2nd: 3471 GOODWIN, Mr Craig & GOODWIN, Mrs Karen Lisjovia White Lady Avec Montmusique JW

She has a v good head, super eyes and expression. Correct neck. Ok front, could be tighter in elbow. Deep chest. Well ribbed back. Rear angulation matches her front. Fairly accurate out and back.

Liked her for type and has a v good head. Correct neck. Just a bit narrow in front. Her angulations are moderate. Deep chest. Level topline. Feet ok.

She is super for type. Has a lovely head, slight stop. Super pigment. Lovely eye and expression. Correct neck. Well laid shoulder, and long sloping upper arm. Just a bit tidier in front than 2. Deep chest well ribbed. Topline is ok. Very easy profile action. Really liked her. CC & BOB and a group shortlist.

She is a v good type b. Head has strength but still feminine. Lovely eye and expression. Correct neck. Good depth and width to her body. Topline is ok. Enough hind angulation. V good shape in profile.
