Gundog Society Of Wales

Many thanks to the Society for giving me the opportunity to judge the veteran group at this well organised and friendly show. It was a pleasure to see so many quality exhibits sent forward.

I shortlisted eight for further consideration including the Irish Red and White Setter, Sh Ch Alanea Summer Cottage. Flat Coated retriever Gloi Dubh Gigha, the Welsh Springer Sh Ch Taimeres Twister Round Nyrilam and the Curly Coated retriever Sh Ch Brightmeadow Just One Look, all worthy winners and excellent representatives of their breeds, looking and moving well.

My winner was the Weimaraner Crowther’s Sh Ch Hundwith Giggle, so sound and honest with a beautiful head, in super body and coat condition and moving well.

Group two went to the Gordon Setter, Robson’s Liric for Your Eyes Only by Yohenoak, super 9 year old looking as well as ever, loved his expression, well made through with strength and style. Moved out well.

Group three was the English Setter Loakes’ Sh Ch Rachdale Painted Lace at Goldbirch, elegant and so well put together, presented to advantage and moved so well in profile.

Group four was the English Springer Watson’s Sh Ch Bordacity Honey Ryder, in super body, coat and condition, lovely head and expression and well put together, showed reach and drive on the move.
