Small but quality entry, fit for purpose whilst retaining all the requirements of the breed standard. Congratulations and thankyou to the breeders and the owners bringing forward an entry to be proud of.

OD (2 Entries) 1. Priestley’s CH Maplemead Malazar Of Quikotic. Mature stallion hound in his prime, expertly shown in top condition, peak fitness and top musculature. Classic head, deep muzzle, correct furnishings without being overdone. Symmetrical, well balance outline with great reach of neck into correct shoulder and return of upper arm. Strong bone down to nicely sprung pasterns and tight, well knuckled feet, so important to any working hound. Deep Keel and the correct prosternum essential to forward reach, heart and lung room. Correctly sprung ribs back into strong loin. Well-muscled correctly angled rear end with good width to thigh and second thigh, giving plenty of drive when he powered around the ring. Well carried stern. Sound coming and going with the required elastic gait of the breed. Loved his sire and think the son may be even better. DCC & BOB.

2. Howie & Emrys-Jones Marksbury Malfoy. I have written “same as above” in my notes and had to check the breeding in the catalogue after as they had such a similar stance.

Another hound with superb, balanced frame from the Marksbury kennel. Slower maturing than the winner, with more to come but never a bad thing and can’t be rushed. Finer in head with lovely planes and furnishings. Great clear eye. Long, fine, correctly turned leathers. Correct angulation to body length giving sound, free movement, with long elastic stride. RDCC

LB (2 Entries) Abs: 1. Harrington’s, Moorlander Cacharel. Compact bitch with beautiful balance. Good head, lovely clear eye without losing the desired furnishings. Good flews, great low set leathers with good length and curl. Great reach of neck which she demonstrated by getting her head down on the move. Great bone down to strong, well sprung pasterns and tight well knuckled deep feet. Not the easiest of bitches to show but her handler made a good job of settling her and demonstrating her sound, free gait. BCC.
