2nd: MOORE, Mrs Anne & DEAN, Mrs Jane Upor Von Huberhorn with Dierfiur (Imp) Rom – Very raw 6 month old with a super harsh jacket. Loved his head and neck. Well angulated both ends. Very loose on the move today but I am sure this will tighten up as he matures.

1st: ELDRED, Miss Susan Ann Elizabeth Derdledash Naughty Neptune JW – B/T with a houndy head and good coat. Good length of neck and well angulated both fore and aft. Would prefer longer ribbing. Moved well with reach and drive.

Yearling Dog (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: ORD, Mr Mark & AINSLEY, Mr Philip Cloudside Sebastian of Marnadee JW – Excellent head, neck and front angulation, decent ribbing and good rear. Moved parallel with good reach and drive. A little too long for me.

2nd: AKEHURST, Mrs Cheryl Boloria All Spice – More compact dog which I prefer. Excellent head. More upright in shoulder than 1st. Excellent coat and well angulated rear. Moved well in profile but slightly untidy going away.

Post Graduate Dog (1 Entries) Abs: 0

Limit Dog (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: SEATH, Mrs S Sunsong Fire Opal – Excellent head on this very well coated dog of good proportions. Good length of neck, well angulated both fore and aft and moved well. Preferred his ground clearance over 2. Close up for top awards.

2nd: HUTCHINGS, Mr A & PRICE, Ms N Collidach Percy Cute at Samlane – Excellent houndy head and a lengthy neck leading into well angulated shoulders. Super rear angulation which he used well on the move. Just a little long and low for me.

Open Dog (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: CARRUTHERS, Mrs J Ch Aikton Alexander at Stanegate Outstanding male in the most wonderful coat and condition. Excellent head, good length of neck leading into the best of shoulders. Decent ribbing and excellent rear. Completely sound on the move showing correct reach and drive in profile. This workmanlike dog looks like he could work all day long and then some, even in the extreme heat on the day. CC & BOB & thrilled to watch him go on to win Hound Group 1

2nd: PHILLIPS, Mrs Valerie Ch Royal Pepper's Vice Versa (Imp Fin) Different type to 1 but equally correct, loved his head and neck. Well angulated front with super length of ribbing. Balanced rear. Correct height to length ratio with good ground clearance. Very smart male who I was pleased to award the RCC

Puppy Bitch (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: PUGHE, Ms H M & FRASER, Ms C Bystock Sea Nymph – Very together 6 month old bitch who has a lovely head, lengthy neck and good shoulders. Well ribbed with a strong loin. Smart rear which she used so well on the move. Very much my cup of tea and no hesitation in awarding her BPIB and very pleased to watch her win 4th in the Hound Puppy Group. One to watch in the future.

2nd: MATTHEWS, Mrs Alison Stanegate Senorita – Good head but slightly round in eye for my preference. Well angulated front, ribbing ok. Not cooperating on the stack today, tending to over stretch herself and dip slightly but I am sure this will firm up with age. Moved well.

Junior Bitch (10 Entries) Abs: 3

1st: MOORE, Mr Wendell Derochaise Black Cherry Cloudside – This gorgeous B/T bitch is exactly what I was looking for and from the minute she walked in the ring I knew she’d be hard to beat. Loved her head and neck. Super front with long ribbing and well angulated rear. Moved so well with excellent reach and drive and correct ground clearance. She is such a lovely Dachshund and I had no hesitation in awarding her the CC. Just lost out on maturity to the dog for BOB but I am sure we will hear a lot more about this lovely girl. So like her beautiful great grandmother who I gave a CC to at a similar age!

2nd: PHILLIPS, Mrs Valerie Tendrow Turns Over The Page – Another lovely B/T girl with a super head and good front. Slightly lower to ground than 1. Tidy rear. Moved well from all angles. Another lovely bitch who I am sure will do very well.

3rd: PARROTT, Mr J M Derochaise Blue Angel at Marondera

Post Graduate Bitch (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: GIBSON, Miss C Allfreys Cordelia – Excellent sized bitch with a lovely head and neck. Neat front and good ribbing. Could use slightly more angulation behind but what she does have she uses so well on the move. Carrying plenty of condition.

1st: MCCALMONT, Mrs Kim & MCCALMONT, Mr Duncan Silvae Timeless – Excellent outline on this typical bitch. Good head and length of neck. Well angulated shoulder but could use slightly more prosternum. Lengthy ribbing and short loin. Well angulated rear. Moved soundly from all angles and had plenty of reach and drive.

2nd: PHILLIPS, Mrs Valerie Tendrow Turns The Right Page – Lovely red with a super coat. Excellent head, ok length of neck. Well angulated shoulders but could use a lengthier upper arm. Good length of ribbing and balanced rear. Moved well with good reach and drive.
