Southern Dachshund Association Sub Group Championship Show Jan 16 2022


I was delighted to accept the invitation to Judge Best In Show for the Association at this year's Championship Show.

This was a well run show with a relaxed & happy atmosphere, I enjoyed my day & thank the Committee for their hospitality.

It was a privilege to award top honours & thank the breed judges for sending through some super quality exhibits.


Best In Show: 

Mr M Chuahan. Ch Adnerb Take A Chance On Me ( Smooth Haired)

A truly beautiful b/t bitch of excellent breed type, is of an ideal size & so well put together. She is utterly feminine with superb construction throughout.

I loved her conical head & expression, super in outline & so well balanced.

She comes into her own on the move, so sound away & back, with excellent reach & drive in profile. Presented in excellent coat & condition, a stylish showgirl who carries herself so well, she is certainly special & she knows it.

Reserve Best In Show:

Ms L McNaughton. Cedavoch Spellbound (Long Haired)

Lovely s/r of 13 mths, high quality bitch who presents a very smart outline with excellent conformation & balanced angulation fore & aft. Beautiful conical head with dark eye & pleasing expression.She has good bone & neat feet. Moved out soundly & freely with good reach & drive.Well presented in gleaming flat coat. Liked her alot , must surely have a bright future.

Best Puppy In Show:

Binks & McNaughton. Cedavoch Ocean Storm ( Smooth Haired)

Top quality 6mth red boy had immediate appeal, is so well put together with lots to like, loved his super conical head & expression & good reach of neck. He is very well constructed with excellent angulation that is balanced fore & aft, presenting a lovely outline. He moves out soundly & freely, keeping a good topline.

At his 1st show & took it all in his stride. Presents a very neat package & is most promising. Could not be denied top spot.

Reserve Best Puppy In Show:

Mr G Kirkwood. Beetlejuice Vitoraz At Helydon (Imp) (Miniature Wire Haired)

Promising 9mth red boy, has a delightful outgoing temperament & immediately catches the eye. He is well made throughout with good bone & feet. Loved his masculine head, dark eye & expression. Had good length of neck, firm in topline & moves out smartly with lovely front extension & strong rear drive. A little extrovert who is full of himself, all wrapped up in a crisp harsh jacket.

Best Veteran in Show:

Howlett & Prowting. Boloria’s Arabella (Wire Haired)

Most attractive quality brindle of a lovely size & type, looking really good for her 8yrs.

Has an elegant feminine head with good furnishings.Her lovely clean lines give a smart well balanced outline. She has good bone & feet, moves out soundly & freely. Well handled & presented in excellent wire jacket.
