WINDSOR CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW, 30 June 2022

Pharaoh Hounds

A small entry but thankfully I was in a position where I felt there was enough quality present in order to be able to award all four green cards. Lovely to see the handsome BOB winner go on to top the very competitive hound group where he put up a spirited & eye-catching performance.

V (2) 1 BV, Thomas’ Ch Annatefkah Thema, 9 years bitch in good shape for her age, correct wedge shaped head, used her ears well, deep chest, quality bone, typical topline, stepped out well with good head & tail carriage; 2 Thomas’ Serenaker Cierzo at Rubasu, 9 years bitch, kennelmate of 1, pleasing expression, slightly finer in muzzle than 1 & feet not as tight. Deep chest, good topline. Lovely to see these two mature ladies.

JD (1) 1 RCC, Ellrich & Hansen’s Ch Bazinga King For A Day, exuberant 17 months dog, excellent type & full of quality, good wedge shaped head, used his ears well, excellent topline & tail, correct forehand angulation, deep chest, good length of second thigh, quality bone, free & active mover. In the challenge, I preferred the slightly more finished picture of his more mature relative but both are definitely kings in their own right!

OD (2, 1 absent) 1 CC & BOB, Hansen’s Int/Dan/Swe/Norw Ch Bazinga Gonna Be A Mighty King, upstanding & masculine stallion, full of quality, excellent type & balance, correct wedge shaped head with medium high set ears, alert expression, very good body proportions, deep chest, quality bone, ideal moderate hind angulation, by far the best head & tail carriage in this entry, moved with great style creating a very pleasing overall picture. I understand this win gave him his UK crown to go with his other titles already collected, many congratulations.

PB (1) 1 BP, Ashby’s Regina Alessandra, almost 12 months bitch, alert & active youngster, nose & eye colour blended well with coat colour, presented quite a pleasing outline on the stack but tended to shorten up on the move & was a bit too proud of her tail. Good amount of bone & body for age, feminine expression.

JB (1) 1 RCC, Hansen’s Bazinga Khaleesi The Dragon Queen, exuberant 17 months litter sister of the RDCC winner & very much of the same stamp & quality. Good head & ears, long neck, ideal body proportions, good length of leg, typical outline, well knuckled feet. Moved with style but there were times when she pinned her ears back which was probably more to do with her jolly temperament than anything else, but in the challenge this swung things in favour of her more mature kennelmate. Two lovely bitches who helped secure a royal flush of green cards today for their talented breeder.

PGB (2, 1) 1 Falzon’s Doucai's Principessa Xini, finer type of bitch, feminine head, good chiselling but would prefer a stronger muzzle. Used her ears well, good length of leg, deep chest. Tended to shorten up a bit on the move. Lovely outgoing temperament.

OB (2) 1 CC, Hansen & Henriksen’s Dan/Swe/Norw/UK Ch Bazinga Flaming Star, top quality bitch of excellent type & balance, very typical wedge shaped head with feminine & alert expression, used her very mobile ears to advantage, ideal body proportions with very clean lines, quality bone, free & active mover, her coat carried a lovely sheen giving her a real look of quality which was the cherry on the cake & impossible to resist; 2 Hansen’s Dan/Swe/Norw Ch Bazinga Hidden Treasure, kennelmate of 1 out of a slightly stronger mould, appealed for overall type & quality, attractive head & expression, balanced angulation at both ends, moved with drive. Hope her chest does not get any deeper & she was rather wild on the move which affected her head carriage, but there were times when she posed herself and looked very eye-catching indeed.
