Class 1467. Minor Puppy Dog

1st Place

Movalian Dumas (Mrs D Barney), lovely start to the day with this striking r/r dog - attending one of his first shows I believe, good head and eye, correct eyes and expression, good turnup & tidy ears. Cobby throughout, firm topline & tail both set & carried correctly. A very accurate and assured mover, even at this age & impressed from all angles. I was delighted to award him the RDCC & BPD, only beaten for BPIB by the beautiful puppy bitch. I am sure we will hear a lot more of him.

2nd Place

Zilcan Gin Ricky (Mrs A Spurr) another r/r dog & shares many of the same attributes as the winner, and upon looking at their breeding I can see they are similarly bred. He too shows a lot of promise, good head and eye, neat ears & a lovely expression. Good to go over & he is shapely. Not quite as forward as the winner at the moment I thought, which is to be expected; but he too is a lovey prospect.

1st Place

Beauborne Obama at Fernstaff (Mr P Fernyhough) b/t/s chap & is a little charmer! Looks at you with gorgeous eyes, he really does have a lovely expression and very good facial features. Well made throughout & he is strongly built - but not course. Topline & tailset correct & his action is free and true, but he does come on a tad wide in front, even for a Griffon.

2nd Place

Zilcan Helios avec Castafiore (Mr A & Mr L Moran & Prouve) r/s dog litter brother to Gin Ricky & I did like this chap a lot too. Good head and eye, alert expression and correct under jaw; ears can settle a little as yet, but he’s got plenty of time. Good forehand and correct body, firm topline and correctly set tail, carried well at all times. He is a sound, accurate mover and carries himself well in profile. Just needs to drop into himself a little to complete the overall picture. Maturity will sit well with him.

Class 1473. Limit Dog

1st Place

Donzeata Royal Agent (Mr N & Mrs J Martyn) r/r dog and an immediate eye-catcher as he is so beautifully cobby & square. His facial features are beautiful & they combine to give that alert almost ‘human-like’ expression. So good to go over and all of a piece, excellent body, firm topline & he stands on really good legs and feet. Moves with good accuracy away and back and keeps his outline in profile. With a little more exposure & self-assuredness he could go all the way.

2nd Place

Osthaen Red Hot Chilli Piper at Tazmanic (Mr K E & Mrs C Robinson) r/s dog & a good, typical Griffon. Slightly heavier in head than the winner & ears could be a touch smaller. Good forehand and firm topline, well set tail & reasonable hind angulation. A very confident and sound moving chap, just not quite the detailed refinement of the winner.

Class 1474. Open Dog

1st Place

Donzeata Royal Anthem (Mr D Guy) this r/r dog stood away in the males today, lovely head for size, excellent nosepad and eye, good width to muzzle & correct turnup; alert expression & so inquisitive! To go over he is all of a piece, liked his forehand and chest, cobby body, excellent topline & tailset, good hindquarters & on the move he continues to impress, going with ease and accuracy and he has certainly got the disposition of a terrier, he loves his time in the ring. Put down in an excellent jacket of correct texture, he well deserved the DCC.

2nd Place

Ir Ch Aptrick Time for Elevenses Cw19 (Dr K S Suggitt) another r/r dog & a worthy Ch. Much to commend, liked him for shape and size, good head and eye, perhaps not quite the detail in head as the winner but still very attractive, cobby and well built, and good to go over, an accurate mover & excellently handled.

Class 1475. Veteran Dog

1st Place

Risethor Laidbackjack (Mrs M E Oliver-Barratt) r/s dog and a lovely veteran, only just into this class. Liked his head and eye, enough width to muzzle and he does have a really lovely expression, perhaps his ears are a touch heavy. Really well constructed, good forehand, correct depth to chest, super ribs & firm topline. On the move he goes with a true action and returns well in front. Holds his outline in profile & was excellently presented and handled.

Class 1477. Minor Puppy Bitch

1st Place

Zilcan Aelia (Mr M & Mrs Y Selby & Selby) r/s first of the bitches & she is a beauty. Glorious head and eye, looks at you with defiance, facial features all lend themselves to a beautiful expression, good width to underjaw and lovely ears. Such a well made front, excellent chest even at this tender age, wonderful body, cobby and correct, super tailset and hind angulation & on the move she is confident and attractive, holding her outline and going with such ease in all directions.

Class 1479. Junior Bitch

1st Place

Zilcan Blazing Away (Miss F & Mr M Whitehead & Selby) half sister to RDCC, this r/s is a true delight, so similar in many respects to Aelia, I thought she was such an exciting prospect. Loved her head and eye, super forehand, excellent topline and tail, wonderful hindquarters and she is beautifully shaped both standing and on the move, such a cobby and balanced outline. A sound, true mover and a real eye-catcher. RBCC & BPIB.

Class 1482. Post Graduate Bitch

1st Place

Chinaskys Queen Grande (Mrs M E Oliver-Barratt) b/t/s bitch with much to admire, liked her attitude - she looks at you with really lovely eyes. Nice head and expression, perhaps could be a touch bigger. Well made, good chest and tight elbows, firm body and short enough in loin. She stands on good legs and feet & when she got going, showed she can go with an easy, stylish action. Presented and handled perfectly.

2nd Place

Aptrick Teacake Time (Dr K S Suggitt) this b/t/r bitch was really nice, just not overly happy on the table. Liked her head and eye, good shape to head and tidy ears, enough width to underjaw. Good forehand, correctly laid shoulders and some depth to chest. Cobby enough throughout and she boasts a lovely topline and tail. Accurate and sound on the move and presented in a lovely jacket of correct texture.

Class 1483. Limit Bitch

1st Place

Foxfly Diamonds Are Forever TAF (Mr A Scourfield), this r/r bitch is a lovely neat size, correct facial features, good eyes and nosepad, correct turnup; beautifully cobby body which was short enough & she is a a free, easy mover. Could do a touch more leg for perfect balance, but she is a lovely quality bitch. Presented in a good jacket of correct texture and very well handled.

2nd Place

Stormjac Black Pearl for Es (Mrs J Conway) b/r bitch and a close decision between her and the winner. Lots to like about her too, super head and eye, correct width and turnup, good ears all combining to create a typical expression. Enough neck, firm topline and tailset. She was close up to the winner but just not quite the freedom on the final go-around I thought. Another lovely one & very classy.

Class 1484. Open Bitch

A good class, right down the line. A pleasure to judge these lovely bitches.

1st Place

Donzeata Royal Attraction (Mr D Guy) r/r bitch & so ‘on form’. She caught my eye immediately for her balance and shape. Excellent head and the most glorious facial features, boasting lovely eyes, excellent width to muzzle and correct turnup. Super forehand, excellent shoulder and good depth to her chest. Firm topline, super ribbing and correctly set tail. Lovely hindquarters & so beautifully muscled. On the move she comes to life, going with drive away and returning true in front; keeps her beautiful outline in profile and she stands on super legs and feet. Presented in a harsh jacket, a pleasure to award her the BCC & BOB.

2nd Place

Zilcan Colour Purple (Mr M & Mrs C Selby & Allen) b/t/r bitch and another class act. So much to like, super head and eye, lovely forehand with correct depth to chest, excellent ribbing and short loin, well set tail & carried correctly at all times. All of a piece and so good to go over, on the move she continues to impress and goes with an easy action and stride. When it came to the RBCC, she was at the forefront of my mind, but the zest and attitude - as well as the sheer promise of her young kennelmate captured me.

3rd Place

Cilleine La Vie En Rose (Mrs D & Miss S Barney & Chapman)

Reserve (4th Place)

Marquant Tinker Belle (Mr L & Miss F C Prouve & Price)
