A super entry for a week day meant some close and difficult decisions. My top winners all came from the very strong open class, perhaps the society would consider OD and OB in the future.

Puppy

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1st Taylor’s Portuguese Pointer Fabpoint Pagan (Imp Pt),

Super 8 months B with well-proportioned head with lots of shape and alert eyes. Strong neck of good length leads into well laid shoulders. Good coat quality and in firm body. Well angulated quarters enabled her to move well showing reach and extension. A really good prospect, Best Puppy.

2nd Davies’ Barbet Yello vom Zulimo mit Barbamor

Enthusiastic youngster with definite “joie de vivre”. Correct in head with good eyes and well placed ears. Strong neck and good layback of shoulder. Has enough rib for her age. Coat is coming along nicely. Unsettled at first on the move but once she did get it together, looked well in profile. Another with plenty of promise.

3rd McCullough’s Korthals Griffon Fidelix Special Edition at Kimmax,

Junior

1st Wright’s Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer Huntingtales Cuthbert

Up to size and at 16 months has some filling out to do. Strong but balanced in head with strong neck of good length and good shoulder angulation. He has plenty of depth to his body for his age. Well boned through, he moved well going away from me.

2nd Clayton Smith’s Braque D’Auvergne S'willa Des Hauts De Rouillac at Cairparavel

Pleasing in head with dark eyes. Well ribbed for her age. She was in good coat and decent muscular condition. She moved well enough in profile but needs a bit more confidence to get the best out of her.

Post Graduate

1st Condron’s Braque D’Auvergne Coco Dianell Morava at Covarney

Handsome 2 year old in good muscular condition. Well balanced in head with dark brown eyes. Just needs a little bit more lip as he develops. Strong neck of good length leads to well-placed shoulders. Straight in front with good ribs and muscled over his loins. He has good rear angulation and moved steadily and easily.

1st Adams’ Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer Achouffe Philanderer

What a super dog, mature and showing to advantage. He has a good head with alert eyes and kind expression. Strong clean neck of good length. He has a straight front of good width and plenty of quality bone. Well laid shoulders, good width and depth to his body and firm coupling contribute to a balanced picture. He is firm and level in topline, strong over the quarters and moved to advantage. Best Imp reg.

2nd Stilgoe’s Portuguese Pointer Ir Sh Ch Perdizcyo Beatriz with Teisgol

Another out of the top drawer. Really fell for this 5 year old. She looked good standing with well-shaped head, well-proportioned body and in fine muscular condition. She is well constructed and was presented in good coat. Moving to advantage, she pushed the winner all of the way. Best Bitch.

3rd Condron’s Braque D’Auvergne Khyannes Valence at Covarney

Well-constructed and honest dog. Good head properties and strong in neck. He looked well whilst stacked and moved soundly. Reserve Best Dog.

Reserve and Reserve Best Bitch Taylor’s Portuguese Pointer Pt Ch Pointoak Thief of Hearts

Judged her last year and still like her a lot. Presented a picture of balance when stacked and moved well in profile. Close up to the others here.

1st Walker’s Korthals Griffon- Nantiderri Dancing Daisy to Baikel,

Alone but worthy winner. Lovely headed girl with strong neck and good bone without being overdone in any way. Well-developed body with enough width and length to her ribs. She has good rear angulation and covered the ring nicely. A worthy best Veteran. .
