East Of England Agricultural Society

Breed: Retriever (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling)

EAST OF ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

10TH JULY 2022

Retriever (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling)

I wish to express my thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge Braccos, Tollers and SWD without CCs. The entries and quality in all three breeds were exceptional. A huge thank you must go to my very hardworking stewards Karl Gawthorpe and Janet Kay who kept the rings running very efficiently to ensure that we were finished in plenty of time for the group. They stewarded in this ring from 9:00 am to 14:30 without a break.

The exhibitors and audience were of the best I have ever experienced. They applauded every class and congratulated each other.

I was delighted with my entry and was pleased to see that my BD, RBD, BB & RBD are all related.

1ST 5599 - Acadiabyrne Tibetan Coral (Miss J Salmon). He is a nice size, has a handsome wedge shaped head, straight and strong forelegs, good spring of rib and an alert and friendly attitude. Moved very well with good tail carriage. BPIB.

2ND 5612 - Tollisty Moët En Chandon (Miss A Dorrell). Strong and straight in front, well muscled neck, decent shoulders. Longer cast than the winner so not as compact in appearance. Handsome enough head but I preferred that of the winner. Moved OK.

3RD 5594 - Cfyre's Prancing Across The Sky to Danehaven (Miss C Powley)

Junior Dog

2ND 5579 - Tollelkin Dream Harbour (Miss M L Elkin). Not as good in front as the winner but he is a pleasing type and displayed such a friendly temperament.

2ND 5577 - Tollelkin Caife Americano Sgwc (Miss M L Elkin). Close up to the winner but doesn’t quite have the hind movement. Great head shape, strong neck and deep brisket.

1ST 5619 - Eusanit Proper Job (Mrs T M & Miss S Westwood). Excellent type, well balanced with a strong topline, compact and well muscled and a great tail action. Clean cut head, eyes set well apart with alert expression, well laid shoulders and wide quarters. I loved his springy movement. BD.

2ND 5591 - Tivalake Let's Misbehave JW (Ms D & Miss T Newson). Unlucky to come up against the winner as he is a very good type. He holds a strong topline and has wide quarters. I preferred the expression of the winner but nevertheless he is a handsome chap.

1ST 5616 - Cfyre's High Tea at Tollpepper (Imp Can) NAF (Mr A J & Mrs J M Trickett). She had the best head and movement in this class. Feminine head of good shape. Alert and attentive just like the standard calls for. I liked her very much indeed for her overall soundness and breed type.

2ND 5610 - Tollisty Blow Your Mind at Citanabel (Mr C G & Mrs S Lashly). Longer cast than the winner and I felt her ears could have been a tad smaller. Pretty wedge shaped head. Was a bit close behind on the move.

A very good class of quality girls.

1ST 5603 - Sh Ch Eusanit Naughty But Nice for Croftwell JW (Mrs S A & Mrs S J Savory & Moult). Cracking bitch who oozes breed type and is a top quality exhibit. She is compact and well muscled, deep in brisket, has well sprung ribs and excellent turn of stifle. She is so well balanced and has the prettiest of heads with well set eyes of excellent shape and the friendliest expression. She is in excellent coat and condition, has good markings and is jaunty on the move carrying her head almost level with her back and waving her tail behind her. She was exactly what I was looking for. BB & stormed it for BOB.

2ND 5618 - Eusanit Ever Fallen Love (Mrs T M & Miss S Westwood). Close up. She looks so very alert on the stack. Plenty of heart and lung room. Moved with drive. Preferred the ear set of the winner.

Veteran Bitch

Entries: 3 Absentees: 1
