Spanish Water Dogs

Many thanks for the lovely entry and the quality of dogs entered. I wanted to find well made, and well muscled dogs with the correct moderate angulation and good brisk action on the move. Also a correctly proportioned head, with good eye & pigment, plus a coat of correct soft texture which would aid buoyancy in water. Did I find this, yes, I did, and not just a few but in most here today. I was a little surprised and concerned, however, to find a number of bad bites i.e. undershot. not something I have come across before, please check your dogs bite as some were just a bit under but some more marked! Presentation was excellent with just one of two clipped below the required 3cms. also excellent were temperaments in all.

Veteran Dog

1. Egginton Valentisimos Tuvida 11.5 yrs, well proportioned head, correct moderate angulation, good muscle tone and still moves very well. Best Veteran

2. Northard Valentisimos Lugo 8.5 yrs of good make & shape, well put together. Also has a nice head and eye. On the move not quite as positive behind as 1.

Puppy Dog

1. Hodgkinson/Fredrikson-Sinkovic Zorrazo Quest for Success (Imp) 10 mth first of two gorgeous brothers, good outline and balance for age, angulation also correct for age, on the move was very enthusiastic but settled enough for me to see what I needed to. Best Puppy

2. Benson Zorrazo Quite a Chunky Hunk at Bernervalley close up to 1 so same remarks apply just didn't settle as well on the move. Good prospect

 Junior Dog

1. Wood Chanderhill Eagle 14mth and coming on well, nicely bodied with good head & eye, angulation not balanced but correct for age so doesn't move quite straight as yet, but he is still developing. Good coat & texture

Post Grad. Dog

1. Saulius Jermolajevas Call Me Valentino Okeanija 18mth Good overall shape, nice topline, well proportioned head & dark eye. Well balanced through for age and movement is sound in all directions, already showing nice amount of drive behind.

2. Ross Briarlow's Nueva Aventura very similar to one so same remarks apply. Nicely balanced but not today not quite the strength of drive as 1.

3. Donnelly Zorrazo Grand Slam Sam (Imp)

Limit Dog

1. Rutherford/Fredrikson Sinkovic Zorrazo Cool as a Cucumber wow what a super dog! 2yr old with breed type and such a great outline, strong topline & loin, well balanced in body & moderate angulation, lovely firm muscle, short coat of good texture and his head is spot on for proportion. On the move has the appropriate reach & drive with brisk action, also looks great in profile. Could not deny him the CC and later BOB, well handled by his young handler too.

2. Hodgkinson-Rutherford/Rutherford Pabiagas Cupid to Chanderhill very similar to 1 in many aspects with another good head balanced through & correct texture to coat. Also good on the move too but just not the 'je ne sais quoi' of 1 today

Open Dog

1. Peart Josalyn Rio Ziggystardust via Janamorio another well made & muscled dog with good firm muscle, good bone & feet. Well proportioned head, slight stop & good eye. Moderate angulation and moved with the right amount of drive and reach, also has good coat of correct texture Res. CC

2. Donaldson/Palumbo UK Sh,Ch, Prizelands You're The One For Rainethyme another close decision here as this one also has the same good points as 1, well put together, well muscled, firm topline and sound on the move, and another good headed dog. Just a slight preference for the profile action of i today

3. Trebert Valentisimos Ballesteros another with breed type and close up to 2 not quite as much drive as the above today.

Special Working Gundog Dog

1. Hodgkinson-Rutherford/Rutherford Ch. Zorrazo Hey There Yogi Bear this one is as fit as a fiddle with terrific muscle, good build & tight feet. Good head, slight stop and well set eye. On the move had plenty of drive and reach and good brisk profile stride

Good Citizen DS Dog

1. Affleck-Carter Nelsonandaluza De Ubrique Placed in a previous class but more settled here, well made and bodied and showed better on the move.

2. Parish Chanderhill Alfredo also from a previous class but standing better here and moved very steadily.

3 Shutt Mourama Cordoba

Veteran Bitch

1. Walker Sh.Ch. Valentisimos Tizi 7yr old well built, good bone & feet. Well proportioned head & nice eye. well coated. On the move belied her years with reach, drive and good stride

2 Abrahams Adormidera Princess Leia similar in build and shape to 1 who also didn't look her age, Good head & eye, nice feet and moved very true and steady

Puppy Bitch

1. Cooper/Dornford-Smith Fivenineplus Pedraforca 8nth old baby with nice head, lovely dark eye, good coat texture. Nice balance & angulation appropriate for age. A little overawed by the noise but once settled moved very positively for a baby.

Junior Bitch

1. Donaldson/Glaysher Kurlibears September Aurora my notes say 17mth old with attitude, quite full of herself. Lovely head & eye. Good body, strong topline & loin, tight feet, correct angulation giving the true brisk action. She made me smile

2. Capille Lendevers Quaint Tinsel 14mth of similar make & shape to 1, balance almost there but good for age, good coat. Nice free brisk action on the move just not yet as settled as 1

3. Thompson Kurlibears September Truffle

Post Grad., Bitch

1. Gillen Leiremoah Wild Child lovely headed 20mth old with super body and shape, strong topline, correct angulation giving good brisk stride with reach & drive, good prospect. Res. CC

2, Philipson Briarlows Nuevo Comienzo larger cast than 1 but close up, good body, tight feet & good coat. Good head with slight stop. Good on the move just needs to firm up a little behind.

3. Lister Pabiaga Billie Jean

Limit Bitch

1. Ozanne/Trebert Valentisimos Enigma at Fielamigo 3yr old with well proportioned head & slight stop, good body with firm muscle, well boned & good feet. Moves freely with good brisk action

2. Salvatierra Sierrasalva's Fuerza I feel there is still more to come here but she is well muscled, good bone & feet. Balance & angulation are fine and movement is sound, very promising

3. Appleton Valentisimos De Cascada

Open Bitch

1. Palumbo Rainethyme Memory Keeper 4yr mature bitch with good muscle & bone, lovely head with slight stop & well set eye. Correct moderate angulation so a good mover too.

2. Jelavic Ch. He/ch Bih Zorrazo Attitude In full coat, close up to 1, well bodied with good bone & feet, moves well just not the same drive as 1 today

3. Salius Jermolajevas Zorrazo All I Ever Wanted for Okeania very close up to the above and the same remarks apply two very nice bitches

Special Working Gundog Bitch

1. Hodgkinson-Rutherford/Rutherford Zorrazo Cheek by Jowl with Chanderhill 2yr old worker with excellent muscle, well balanced through, good bone super feet. Strong topline and loin, moderate angulation and she shows reach, drive and a brisk stride in profile. All this & a lovely head, with good muzzle to skull ratio, well set eye and great coat texture in her short coat. BCC

Good Citizen DS Bitch

1. Appleton Valentisimos De Cascada from as previous class but much more settled and moved so much better to win this class

 2. Cooper/Dorford-Smith Fivenineplus Azpilicueta as with the above much more settled here

3. Salvatierra Sierrasalva's Regalo
