LONDON & PROVINCIAL COLLIE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
SUNDAY 28TH AUGUST 2022
ROUGH COLLIE BITCHES
I would like to thank the Committee of London & Provincial Collie Club for giving me the honour of Judging Rough Collie Bitches with CC’s at their 2022 Championship Show, my first CC appointment in Rough Collies, and thank you to my two stewards, Gina and Peter Stillwell who did a wonderful job on the day. A lovely day with excellent weather for showing dogs, although the field the show was held on was suffering from the recent drought and extremely dry with areas that were undulating in the ring in places which did unfortunately adversely affect at least one exhibit which was disappointing.
VETERAN BITCH (6/0)
1. RANDALL, Mr D A & Mrs S P – LADNAR INKHEART JW – Extremely pretty tri colour bitch of just over 7 years of age, excellent jet black coat, correct head with good dentition and bite, good bone, well laid back shoulders, good length of back and nice bend of stifle, moved well, beautifully presented and a definite worthy winner of this very good class however she lost her topline later in the Bitch Challenge.
2. COLLINO, Miss D M – IMAGINIST WAXING LYRICAL - Shaded sable of 9 years young whom left most of her clothes at home but does not detract from her overall shape, really good head pattern and lovely well placed eye, ears totally correct, good length of neck, good chest and return of upper arm, lovely bone, good length of back, well let down hocks with good bend of stifle, moved well.
3. BENTON, Miss M K – CH. BROOKLYNSON JANE RUSSELL OF OAKESTELLE.
MINOR PUPPY BITCH (3/0)
1. BURROWS, Reverend V E – AVONFAIR A MILLION LOVE SONG AT REVDVICKI – Sable and White puppy of almost 9 months of age, lovely underjaw on this young lady with good dentition, she has a well placed ear set and pleasing eye, good chest and front angulation, neck is of decent length, good length of back with nice rear angulation and bend of stifle and good length of tail, moved the best in this class today.
2. CRONK, Mrs V – CHELBORN GAMBLER’S WISH – 7 month old extremely pretty sable bitch puppy who has a lovely head and a fabulous underjaw, kind, expressive and correct almond shape dark eye, she has lovely bone and substance, nice length of back, good angulation front and rear, moved well.
3. RADFORD-HOUSE, Mrs M J – CHELBORN’S BETTING LIST FOR FIVEJAYS
PUPPY BITCH (2/0)
1. FLOWER, Mrs S – SERENLAS PUMPKIN SPICE – 10 month old, beautifully presented very pretty feminine sable bitch who is top drawer, total quality. Fabulous correct wedge shape head with great underjaw, bite and dentition, smooth foreface and correctly placed stop, correct kind, dark almond eye, lovely flat backskull not deep through in any way, well used and correctly placed ears, good crest and length of neck that leads to correctly placed and well laid back shoulder and good return of upper arm, great bone and substance, excellent length of back and well set correct length to tail, good bend of stifle enabling her to power around the ring holding her topline with drive and reach and as one with her handler every time she was asked to do so. I could not deny her the Bitch CC. In total agreement with my co-judge, she was also declared BOB Rough Collie and BPIB, later under the BIS Judge, she was awarded RBIS and BPIS.
2. SWAIN, Mrs A F – A TOUCH OF BLAZE FOR LEXCOL – Tricolour bitch puppy of 9 months with the blackest of jackets. Finer puppy all over than 1, has a nice eye but ears need to settle. Would prefer more length of back and on the move she needs to strengthen in pastern.
JUNIOR BITCH (3/0)
1. WHITE, Mrs J – MEJOLA MAIN EVENT – Lovely well presented sable bitch of 14 months with everything in proportion. She has a lovely smooth correct wedge head with lovely almond shaped dark eye, really pleasing expression, nicely tipped ears with a good neck and correct angulation front and rear, good chest and correct length of back and tail, lovely bend of stifle, excellent movement, in my opinion, one to watch in the future as I am sure she is set for the top drawer.
2. WRAY-RAMDSEN, Mrs S L – TAKHISIS MIDSUMMER DAWN – well presented sable and white bitch again at 14 months of age, who has a very pretty clean head with a good dark eye, well placed stop and ears used well, good length of neck and she has a very good chest and front angulation, decent length of back but needs to drop and settle into herself a bit more as currently a little high on the leg and not holding topline, good length of tail and moved ok .
3. BARTRAM, Mr C P – AMBARTR TROUBLED GOLD
YEARLING BITCH (5/1)
1. WHITE, Mrs J – MEJOLA MAIN EVENT
2. PERROTT, Mr & Mrs T A – GATAJ ONE MOMENT IN TIME – 19 month old lighter sable bitch who has decent head planes with a good underjaw and decent stop, well set ears and a decent length of neck, nice chest and front angulation, moved well but could not match 1.
3. LARKIN, Ms N – RAHLISSA TOFFEE CAKE FOR DENORA
NOVICE BITCH (3/1)
1. BURROWS, Reverend V E – TIGANLEA HOITY TOITY AT REVDVICKI – well presented sable puppy bitch of 9 months old, who lives up to her name and has character in abundance, has a lovely wedge shape head that is smooth and clean, very pretty correct oblique almond dark eye and correct stop, well placed and tipped ears, good length of neck, lovely bone and substance, nice overall shape with good length of back and tail. Moved well.
2. ADAMS & CARLYON, Mr R & Ms L M – DYCOSHEM EMILY MORGAN – Tricolour bitch of 3 years and 3 months old who has a lovely deep black coat, such a pretty head and good dark well placed eye, good length of neck and decent bone with lovely bend of stifle but was well down on her pasterns on the move due to lacking in confidence, such a shame as she is sweet.
GRADUATE BITCH (7/2)
1. FLOWER, Mrs S – SERENLAS PUMPKIN SPICE
2. BURROWS, Reverend V E – REVDVICKI RAMBLIN ROSE – really pretty bitch of just over 2 years old, lovely dark eye, ears could be tighter. Good length of neck, decent shoulder and return of upper arm, good bone and substance, moved well but could not match 1.
3. PERROTT, Mr & Mrs T A – GATAJ ONE MOMENT IN TIME
POST GRADUATE BITCH (4/0)
1. MELLISH, Miss M – DEMELEWIS DOUBLE TAKE – 19 month old tricolour bitch of quality who standing is completely in proportion, with a lovely wedge shape head, not deep through and has a decent well shaped eye which is full of mischief. She has a lovely chest and excellent angulations fore and aft with good bend of stifle and good length of back, she is a clown on the move and I feel she would just love to go a bit faster than her handler can take her to be able to stride out to fulfil her obvious potential but with her conformation you can see that she is so correct, moved well enough to win this class.
2. NEWTON & PATTERSON, Mesdames – BELDONES HALLE BERRY WITH DARAHILL – Sable bitch of almost 4 years of age, such a lovely temperament, has a pleasing head although ears could be tighter, good front angulations and chest and has good bend of stifle, moved well.
3. BLUCK, Miss E – PAULARA LUCY IN THE SKY FOR ELSHAJO
MID LIMIT BITCH (8/0)
1. TIPPER, Mr J & Mrs C – TIGANLEA TWINKING STAR – A lot to like about this lovely, beautifully presented clear silver blue merle bitch of almost 4 years, she has a lovely correct head with correct shape and well placed eye, good stop, well set and tipped ears, she moved exceptionally well and really light on her feet covering the ground with ease all while holding an excellent topline, showing her excellent drive and forward reach, highly considered for top honours today but would prefer just a touch more length to neck on her to finish the ‘picture’, she was well deserving winner of this quality class today.
2. FLOWER, Mrs S – SERENLAS PAGANS MOON – Another quality and well presented bitch of 3 years old with the darkest of tricolour coats, has a lovely wedge shape head and well placed stop and dark eye, ears well set and tipped, excellent conformation throughout and moved really well but could not match 1 today.

2. WHITE, Mrs J – MEJOLA SPECIAL RESERVE – Another lovely well presented sable bitch just coming up to 3 years of age, lovely head properties, smooth and correct with well set and correct shape eye of good colour, excellent ear set, lovely length of neck, good bone and substance, nice length to back and tail, good bend of stifle, moved really well but not quite matching 1.
