Breed: Collie (Rough)

COLLIE (ROUGH)

Thank you to all the exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me today, I thoroughly enjoyed the appointment after being ‘Covid-robbed’ of the invitation back in 2020. I was disappointed in some exhibits who came under me with matted coats, as someone who has a coated breed I feel it’s unforgivable to present your dogs in such a way, ‘great beauty’ isn’t just about how the dog looks on the stand, it’s the whole package. Equally disappointed that neither my BOB or BP represented their breed in the Pastoral Group. In summary, I was really pleased with all my main winners who fitted my picture for breed type and absolute soundness.

1. Houlihan’s Kourika Frosted Ice. 3 year old male who was initially a little reluctant to be assessed, masculine head with dark eye and good pigment, lovely expression when he used his ears, soundly made in front and rear with strong neck and good shoulders, would like to see a little more reach on the move but overall his presentation was excellent and had good muscle tone.

2. Raven’s Corydon Ice Imperial. 15 months and a little out of coat and not the body and substance of 1st, masculine expression, strong neck and well muscled shoulders, good depth of chest and sound body proportions, would have liked a tidier rear movement going away but showed some sound profile movement.
