Manchester Dog Show Society

Breed: Large Munsterlander

I thoroughly enjoyed this appointment and would like to thank all those exhibitors for such a good entry.

MPD (4/1)

1st: LOGIE, Miss E & BRAIDWOOD, Mrs F Albadhu Wish Upon A Star. I thought this puppy was stunning. Rarely do I go in raptures about puppies in this breed as they take such a long time to come into themselves! However he really impressed. At just 6 months he has super overall balance and the correct outline for the breed. Excellent head shape with good breadth of skull. Clean neck leading to copybook forehand construction. His chest is of good depth and his rib/loin proportions are correct. Well turned stifles with hocks set square to the ground. Excellent bone and the best of feet. Expertly presented and handled to advantage. Moved on a good stride. He was not a million miles away from higher honours but had to be content with BP today. One to watch.

2nd: WAKEFIELD, Mr M Ekkolander Merlot. Correct size. Slightly longer cast than the winner. Head of correct length and breadth. Chest needs to drop but this will come. Well ribbed back. Excellent bone. Moved well once he had settled.

3rd: PHILLIPS, Mrs S & PHILLIPS, Mr N Ekkolander Rioja

JD (3)

1st: LOGIE, Miss E & BRAIDWOOD, Mrs F Albadhu walk on the Wildside. Strongly made male well balanced all through. I would prefer a little more refinement in his head. Strong, muscular neck leading to excellent layback of shoulder and return of upper arm. Chest of good width and depth. Well ribbed back. Strong hindquarters with good width of second thigh. Excellent bone and feet. In super coat and condition. Moved strongly with good open side gait - but rather proud of his tail.

2nd: WADDINGTON, Mr J & CHICK, Miss E Albadhu Walk of Life. Very much at the “legs and wings” stage at the moment. Good balance. Head well shaped with strong, slightly arched neck. Little upright in shoulder and needs to drop in chest. Well made hindquarters. Good bone and feet. Once settled moved freely.

3rd: WAKEFIELD, Mr M Ekkolander Merlot

PGD (3, 1)

1st: SIMPSON, Miss C Ekkolander Dark Madness At Leriton. Plenty tall enough for me but he is very well balanced and of the correct height/length proportions in that he presents a square outline when stacked. Little stronger in head than my preference but he scores in his forehand construction. Correct topline and well ribbed back. Strong hindquarters with well turned stifles and hocks square to the floor. Excellent bone and feet. Moved well on a good stride when viewed in profile.

2nd: LLOYD, Miss K J & SMITH, Mr M Crumpsbrook Galangal Von Rulander (ai). Well balanced all through. I preferred his head to that of the winner but his forehand construction was not as good. Good topline with well sprung ribcage and short loin. Well made hindquarters with hocks well let down. Correct bone and very good feet. Moved well on a good stride. Not as tidy as winner coming in.

LD (5)

1st: HUGGINS-DAVIS, Ms A Tralale Chunky Monkey. Another quality dog who pushed hard for top honours. Very well made all through with correct height to length dimensions giving a square outline. Head of good length with strong jaw. Clean neck leading to well laid shoulder. Chest of good width and depth. Well sprung ribcage with short loin. Powerful hindquarters with excellent bone and feet. Moved well - just a little untidy coming in towards. In excellent coat and condition.

2nd: POWELL, Ms J & MURRELL, Mr A Crumpsbrook Woodrush. Well balanced all through. Stronger in head than winner. Good neck and topline. Chest of width and depth. Well made hindquarters. Not quite the length of stride of the winner on the move.

3rd: DUNSMORE, Mrs P Jaudas Kind of Magic at Kennedun.

OD (3)

1st: DAY, Mr & Mrs M Sh Ch Waldo Vom Busshof Mit Alfriston (Imp) Deu. Excellent overall balance. Presents a square outline. Head of good length with strong slightly arched neck. Scores in his forehand construction with chest of good depth and well placed elbows. Well sprung ribcage leading to short loin and strongly made hindquarters with good width of second thigh. Excellent bone and feet. Very strong mover. In good coat and condition. RCC.

2nd: DAVIS-GREEN, Mrs A Abdecker Dancer. Good overall balance. Preferred the forehand construction of the winner and drops off in croup. Deep chest with good spring of rib and short loin. Well made hindquarters with good width of second high. Hocks well let down and square to the ground. Excellent bone and feet. Moved on a good stride.

3rd: MACGREGOR, Mrs F & MACGREGOR, Mr J & MACGREGOR, Mr Sh Ch Ekkolander Snowstorm

VD (4/1)

1st: LLOYD, Miss K J & SMITH, Mr M Ch Crumpsbrook Bayleaf Von Rulander. Cracking dog from any angle. So beautifully balanced and just what I was looking for. True head of good length and powerful underjaw. Ears high set. Strong, slightly arched neck leading to excellent lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Forelegs well placed under the body. Chest of good width and depth. Topline correct with fraction more height at the withers. Well sprung ribcage with short loin. Copybook hindquarters - good length and bend of stifle with hocks low and set square. Excellent bone and feet. On the move he just flowed round the ring. Totally fit for function - no fuss - no exaggeration. Easy to imagine him working in the field all day. CC and BOB.

2nd: DAY, Mr & Mrs M Raycris Constantin At Alfriston. Strongly made and well balanced all through. I would prefer more refinement through his head but he has a good dark eye and very kind expression. Chest of good depth with well sprung rib and short loin. Well boned throughout and very sound mover.

3rd: TAPP, Mr I P & WOOD, Ms S Raycris Gabriel Of Teufesmoor

MPB (5)

1st: BISSET, Miss S L Albadhu Written in the Stars. Litter sister to my BP and very many of the same attributes - just not quite as forward in development. Typical head of good length and breadth for age. Clean neck. Could have a fraction more layback in shoulder. Chest of good depth for age. Excellent rib and loin. Well made hindquarters with good width of second thigh. Super and feet. Her handler was very sympathetic and got the most out of her and as she did her confidence grew. A very promising puppy.

2nd: SAYNOR, Mrs K Ekkolander Malbec. Another very promising puppy. Just a little longer cast than the winner but within the standard. Head of correct shape with clean neck leading to well laid shoulder and return of upper arm. Correct depth of chest for age. Needs to come up on pasterns but this well come. Well made hindquarters. Moved well.

1st: WILKINS, Miss V Quilesta Simply Exquisite. Headed a good class. I liked this bitch very much indeed and only her lack of full furnishings prevented her from going further in the challenge. Excellent overall balance presenting square outline when stacked. Feminine elongated head with a soft expression. Well laid shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Chest of good depth. Well ribbed back to short loin and correct topline. Scores in her hindquarters. Well turned stifles with good width of second thigh. Moved well both fore and aft and in profile.

2nd: MILLER, Miss S Ekkolander Dark Russian Von Rockfest. Larger in frame than winner and slightly longer cast through the loin. Excellent head with strong slightly arched neck. Scores in her forehand construction. Deep chest. Just tends to drop her topline on the stack. Well made hindquarters with good width and length of thigh. Hocks well let done. Good bone and feet. Smooth, powerful movement.

3rd: WARD, Mrs H J Braccpoint Song of the Wind for Gemlorien

OB (3)

1st: O'CONNELL, Mrs L & O'CONNELL, mr T Jaudas Look at Me JW. Excellent overall balance presenting a perfectly square outline. Doesn’t always stand to advantage which is why you need hands on to totally appreciate her virtues. Excellent head of correct length and breadth with the softest expression. Strong neck leading to well laid shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Forelegs straight and placed well under the body. Her chest is deep and of good width. Well sprung ribcage leading to short loin. Powerful, well made hindquarters with good width of second thigh and well set hocks. Strong powerful movement gained her the CC and I understand her full title. Very well done.

2nd: MILLER, Miss S Asterpoint Da Vinci Of Rockfest. A very elegant bitch whom I liked very much. Excellent overall balance. Head of good shape with dark eye and soft expression. Strong neck, slightly arched leading to well laid shoulder and corresponding length of upper arm. Chest of good width and depth with elbows well placed. Correct topline - just drops off in croup slightly more than more my ideal. Well made hindquarters with good width of second thigh and low, well placed hocks. Super bone and feet. Shown in excellent coat and condition. Moved well with good open side gait. RCC

3rd: LOGIE, Miss E & BRAIDWOOD, Mrs F Cindy vom Hundsfeld at Albadhu (Imp) Deu

Excellent bone and feet. Showing in good coat and condition.
