Driffield Championship Dog Show

Breed: Hungarian Pumi (Imp)

Thank you to the society for this invitation, my first time judging Pumis, and to those who entered their dogs for me today. A small entry, with the majority from one exhibitor, therefore type was quite even. All dogs were well presented and had good temperaments.

One I have liked from the ringside for a long time and I was pleased to be able to judge him. Moderately built, excellent outline, super type. He is in great condition all throughout. Masculine head of correct proportions, good pigment, correct ears. He has moderate angulation front and rear and, on the move, he displays balanced, sound movement in all directions. Excellent presentation and handling, very pleased to award him BD, BOB and BV.

1st: 2479 SMEE, Miss MICHELLE & SMEE, Mrs Wendy & COLEMAN, m MYKABEL ELKURUD SCHNAUBERN

9 months white. This young boy was rather unsettled today so it was difficult to assess his movement. He has good height to body proportions and is developing well in body. He has a good ear set. I would prefer a darker eye and pigment.

7 month old grey. I was rather taken by this puppy. I think she shows a lot of promise. Super pretty and of a good size. Decent pigment, I liked her head proportions and ear set. She was a very happy, bouncy girl so it was difficult to assess movement in the class, but in the challenge, she moved much better and looked very smart. She has good height to length ratio, balanced angulation. BP.

12 month white, a bit out of coat today. I thought she was of good size, with acceptable pigment and good head proportions. She was reasonably balanced in angulation, but I did find her to be a bit out of balance on the move. This could be age related and improve when she has firmed up a bit more.

Two different types here and on the day, 1st just put in a better performance in the class.

1st: 2480 WESSON, Mrs Karoline Elizabeth Csulli Christmas Candy

Mature grey who presented a square outline. She is a little out of coat which does impact the ‘Pumi’ look. I still thought she was of good type with moderate angulation, excellent pigment, and she was very sound on the move, showing a typical moderate action and not far reaching. Her head is of good proportions with correct ear set. Coat texture was correct, and she was well handled. BB

2nd: 2476 SMEE, Miss MICHELLE CERIDWEN PUMIDA SCHNAUBERN (Cze Imp)

2 ½ year old grey. Smart young female, smaller than 1 all through and more angulated. She has a correct square outline with good height to body ratios. Rather unsettled in the class which made her look erratic, but in the challenge for RBB she was much better, her movement was sound in all directions. I would just prefer a little less speed on the move. Super head proportions, feminine, excellent pigment. She was very well presented with correct coat presentation. RBB
