GUNDOG GROUP
G1 – GSP - Stammer’s Deena Ballettanza at Lochpointer.
Quality bitch at just short of 5 years of age. Liver and white, stunning outline, standing over plenty of ground, excellent bone. Skull with pleasing properties, soft expression from medium sized eye. Ideal width of chest, neat fitting elbows allowing free movement of front legs, straight front, strong bones, pasterns slightly sloping, toes well arched but could be tighter. Well angulated forequarters, sloping shoulders and return to upper arm, equal merit to the hindquarters. Firm topline held on the move, movement was a joy to watch, excellent reach and drive, very well handled.
G2 – Pointer Thorpe’s Amiryck Get Up And Run at Braegorse.
Orange and white dog. Imposing outline, straight front, lovely length of neck, which was well muscled and had slight arch. Shoulders long and sloping, upper arm placing legs well under body. Well sprung ribs which reached well back, firm top line, excellent bend of stifle and plenty of muscling throughout. Moved very well with style, covered the ground with ease, was straight coming and going.
G3 – Flat Coat Retriever Phipps Baker & Baker Never Say Never Oasis Of Peace (ATC).
Neat and tidy black bitch, well handled, happy, moved freely and with powerful drive, hard condition. Feminine in every way, but still plenty of substance, good bone. Appealing head with correct balance of planes, slight stop, medium sized eyes with kindly expression showing intelligence. Lovely lay back of shoulder and decent return of upper arm, deep through the brisket with forelegs straight. Tail flows off back and carried level when moving. Strong rear quarters. Optimistic demeanour with ever wagging tail and good show ring attitude. Sympathetically handled.
G4 – Sussex Spaniel – Collingwood’s Deanway Fairy Story.
I fell for her pretty head and kind expression. Strong neck with slight arch, correct slope to shoulder, deep chest, straight legs, strong bone. Strong body which was broad and firm all through, deep ribs, muscular thighs and well padded feet. Rich coloured coat with gold tips in super condition and beautifully presented. Attentive to her kind and gentle handler, a happy girl who gave a very good account of herself, at only 13 months, she must have a bright future.
GUNDOG PUPPY GROUP
PG1 – American Cocker Spaniel - Wellsted’s Aftermarines Gold Effect NAF.
What a promising young bitch! Just 7 months of age and did everything a well experienced puppy would do to take this strong puppy Group, a real showgirl with a great attitude. Loved her head and expression, well constructed all through, straight, well placed legs, topline slightly sloping, short coupled. Clean black and white coat, beautifully handled to advantage, moved very well, really enjoying her day out.
PG2 – English Springer Spaniel – Keely’s Alhambian Amy Winehouse.
10 months old, and what a promising puppy! Very close up to 1st but just could not beat the personality of 1st today. Clean liver and white coat, very beautiful outline with attractive crest of neck. Feminine all through, just what she should look like at this age, good bone. Gorgeous head with proportionate properties, quality chiselling below eyes, flat cheeks, deep muzzle. Straight legs all round which was also apparent on the move, strode out well, expertly handled.
PG3 – Flat Coat Retriever Rydanah Devils In The Detail. A neat and tidy black bitch, feminine in type, and of racy appearance. 11 months old, typical head, long in shape and just as it should be at this age, kind eye, soft, intelligent expression, well developed body, pleasing ribcage with good spring. Was active and settled well on the move, wagged her tail all the way through, well handled. Very promising.
PG4 – English Setter – McLoughlin’s Arabin Silver Panda.
10 month old bitch with attractive outline, balanced shape and elegant on the move with natural carriage. Head with balanced planes and moderately deep muzzle, slightly arched neck set into slope of shoulder and chest deepening nicely. Well let down hocks which enabled drive from behind.
HUNGARIAN VIZSLAS
PUPPY – 1 (0 abs)
1st St Romaine’s Nemzet Kincse True Savannah (imp Hung) NAF. BOB & BP.
Really liked this 7 month old bitch. Well behaved with a good show attitude, coat of good colour, moved well, used tail well. Balanced body properties and nice overall shape. Plenty of time for legs to tighten when coming towards and moving away, but for such a baby she put on an impressive performance.

4 year old dog. Loved head and expression, open and honest eye. Strong, clean neck, balanced body properties with ideal ribcage. Well developed thighs and nice bend of stifle. Lost out to the puppy because I just would have preferred tighter elbows. Sympathetically handled.
2nd – Porter-Manning & Porter’s Wallaroo Hawk Eye JW.
3 year old dog. Balanced angulation fore and aft, excellent lay of shoulder, good return of upper arm to strong and straight forearms. Was not happy today, and carried tail above the horizontal. Well handled.

1st Thorpe’s Wilchrimane Adagio at Braegorse. RBOB.
23 month old orange and white dog. Loved his head and kind expression, appealed for clean and balanced outline, straight limbs, balanced angulation. Good shoulder placement and strength to hind quarters, well turned stifles, legs parallel when viewed from behind. Oval bone and oval feet, well arched toes. Active mover with tail lashing from side to side.
LIMIT – 3 (1 abs).
1st Ovel’s Jimaura I’m For Caroline.
Black and white 2 year old bitch. Balanced outline, lovely head, good length and spring to ribcage, slight arch over loin, oval bone of good quality. Rear movement a tad untidy today when moving away, carried tail level with back but kept tail still on the move.
2nd Brooksmith’s Nightgold Pipkin.
2 year old bitch in liver and white jacket. Long, clean neck set well into super shoulders. Impressive bend of stifle, oval bone and oval feet. Moved well with tail lashing from side to side, covered the ground well. Would have liked half an inch less length of body.
OPEN – 2 (0 abs).
1st Thorpe’s Amiryck Get Up And Run at Braegorse. BOB. (see critique above for G2).
2nd Ovel’s Plungevale Queen Of Hearts at Jimaura. Black and white bitch who lacked a bit of animation today, and did not display much tail action. Nice head shape, well defined stop, head planes in proportion, would prefer tighter eye rims. Well angulated hind quarters with good muscling to thighs. Stood well to show off her clean outline, was active enough on the move, well handled.

1st Holmes’ Rydanah Devils In The Detail. BP, PG3. (see critique above for PG3).
2nd Dye’s Bitcon Black Diamond.
11 month old black bitch, coat in tip top condition. Carrying rather too much weight for me today which affected her movement, did not stride out freely, and not so active. Moderately broad head, good sized nose, strong jaws. Useful length of neck, brisket deepening nicely, but hope she develops more width between forelegs. Good spring of rib, length of loin in proportion, firm backend.
SPECIAL YEARLING – 3 (0 abs).
1st – Campbell & Brown’s Ronevorg Angel Wiv Attitude.
Black male at 16 months of age. Balanced outline, excellent quality bone, particularly good feet, correct shape and well padded. Masculine head, could not deny he is a male, skull broad enough at this age. Good length of neck flowing well into ideal slope of shoulders and firm back with good depth of body. Impressive ribcage, short loin. Active, free flowing movement, well handled, wagged his tail to display his verve for life.
2nd – Gogarty’s Padend Just The Way You Are.
17 months old, black bitch with good quality coat, feminine in type, made a lovely profile picture standing foursquare, attentive to handler. Moved actively and with drive from behind, front movement a little untidy when coming towards, and her highish tail carriage did rather spoil her outline. Expertly handled.
3rd – Gogarty’s Padend Let’s Stay Together.

1st - Phipps Baker & Baker’s Never Say Never Oasis of Peace (ATC). BOB. G3. (see critique above for G3).

Angulation not overdone but balanced at each end. Black male with nice straight front legs, typical ribcage with good depth and length, gradual spring towards rear, moved straight and level both going away and coming towards, free flowing in profile. Coat in really good condition. Well handled to advantage.
3rd – Gogarty’s P Just The Way You Are.

Nice sized, mature black bitch with lovely degree of femininity. Pleasing outline, good length of neck, racy body, really looks the part. Attractive head shape, kind eye, intelligent expression. Well developed chest, deep through the heart, ribs correct with good spring, depth and length, parallel hind pasterns. Wagged all the time, I loved her attitude, very well handled.

1st Newman’s Creamwood Silver Hawthorn. BOB.
Won 3 classes today. His exceptionally kind nature shone through, kindly and biddable, very good rapport with his gentle handler. Loved his head, muzzle balanced so well with skull, expressive eyes, deep muzzle, wide nose. Neck clean and strong and flowed into firm top line, well shaped barrel ribs, short coupled and well set on otter like tail. Shoulders and upper arm of correct angle, matching angulation behind, powerful hindquarters. Stood on tight catlike feet with straight legs and quality bone. Moved very well in profile and was straight coming towards and going away. Well presented yellow double coat At just 14 months old he surely has a great future ahead of him, I wish he were mine.

1st Tester’s Gingafing Forget Me Not. BOB.
Balanced outline and very impressive on the move, excellent extension in front and powerful drive behind, true movement coming and going. Felt really good to go over, sound construction and hard condition. Attractive head, happy disposition, good bone, correct double coat. Handy sized bitch at 15 months of age still has plenty of time in front of her, well handled.
2nd Collins & Powley’s Danehaven Madeleine.
Impressive powerful movement, forward extension, matching drive behind, parallel going away and coming towards. Straight legs fore and aft, deep through brisket, well sprung ribs, well muscled hind quarters with good bend of stifle, attentive to handler.
3rd Savory’s Katimba Panti Rippa.
LIMIT – 5 (1 abs).
1st Tester’s Gingafing Aint No Way. RBOB.
Feminine bitch with balanced outline, of smaller size, in good coat. Appealed for her straight legs, body shape and balance, was well muscled, moved very well, was eager to please and showed herself off very well. I would have liked to have seen more rapport between handler and dog today.
2nd Chapman’s Katimba Trebbiano at Dkai.
Well up to size, and with darker coloured clean coat. Today the lay of his coat affected the outline of his otherwise level top line, and made him appear to rise over the loin. Loved his head, skull broad and slightly rounded, muzzle tapered to well developed nostrils. Attentive to handler from medium sized amber coloured eyes, good straight legs but lacked forward extension today.
3rd Fincham’s Danehaven Ralph.
OPEN – 4 (0 abs).
1st Powley’s Danehaven Fenelon.
Won here on superb body condition, was also impressed with good muscling, and this helped her to move truly and steadily, but I wondered if the heat of the day had affected her. Attentive to handler, willing to please, very calm nature. Compact and balanced outline, straight front legs, elbows close fitting, appealing head. Lost out in challenge for BOB because coat not in full bloom today, but this will change on another day.
2nd Tester’s Gingafing Careless Whisper.
Once again a lovely type from this kennel. Pretty bitch with delightful temperament, attentive to handler. Balanced from every angle, forequarters with equal merit to the rear, legs straight, movement true. Handy size, pleasing double coat. Some slight eye stain on her cheek today.
3rd Collins & Powley’s Danehaven Kovik.
SPANIEL (COCKER)
PUPPY – 4 (0 abs).
1st – Wallis Baga’s Velrok Mister Bluesky. BP.
Blue roan dog of 11 months of age. Really liked his type, super head of balanced properties, square muzzle, kind dark eye with tight eye rims. Clean neck of good length into ideal sloping shoulders, level top line, good spring of rib, tail well set on and used well to show happy and merry Cocker attitude. A real showman and surely must have a bright future. Well handled.
2nd – Wright’s La Scales Berlin at Chazbaz NAF TAF.
Would have preferred this 7 month old black dog to be carrying less weight today. Appealing head, alert and intelligent expression, well developed skull, obvious stop and pleasing muzzle. Moderate length of well muscled neck into ideal lay back of shoulders. Good bone and cat like feet. Calm and biddable nature, coat beautifully presented, expertly handled.
3rd – Taylor-Kistner’s Frieljoanipa Olea.
Reserve – Marshal’s Wissant Very Special Agent.
JUNIOR – 4 (0- abs).
1st – Brothwell’s Wissant Uptown Girl.
Won here for femininity, balance, make and shape. Lost out in challenge for BOB because had left her best dress at home today. Sweet head with appealing gentle expression from dark eye. Skull and muzzle of equal length, and had the right amount of width and depth to muzzle. Had straight legs and good feet, moved very well, wagging all the way. Such a lovely natured girl.
2nd – Clarke’s Harbethol Look Magical Echo.
Outline shows good angles, and I confirmed this when going over him. 16 months old dog, level top line, well developed chest and deep brisket, well sprung ribs. Well shaped head, expression not as alert as some today. To enhance his outline I would just prefer a half inch extra on his length of leg.
3rd – Wallis Baga’s V Mister Bluesky.
POST GRA DUATE – 2 (1 abs). RBOB.
1st – Crisp’s Challowdown Loopy Lou with Genavieve.
Blue Roan bitch, balanced from every angle, straight front legs and true ground covering movement, good bone, round and firm well padded feet. Neck of moderate length and well set into good lay back of shoulder, level top line and tail set on just below level of back, hind angulation with equal merit to the fore, well muscled quarters. Very well schooled and expertly handled, I really liked her. Close up for BOB but just a tad less on her waistline please.
LIMIT – 2 (1 abs).
1st - Collier’s Pepperbox Back In Time.
Masculine head on this blue roan male, well developed skull, obvious stop, square muzzle, left eye rim just a little loose today. Balanced outline, deep through brisket, well sprung ribs, wide across loin showing strength, well developed strong hind quarters, would have preferred movement to be straighter going away and coming back to me today. Sympathetically and well handled.
OPEN – 4 (1 abs).
1st – Keeley’s Oakbeach Dare To Dream Big. BOB.
Just over 2 years old, black dog in the peak of condition, beautifully presented, showed himself off very well, expertly aided by good handling, made an impressive team. Moved so very well with good forward reach and matching drive from behind, straight and true from every direction. Loved his head, clean chiselling, length of foreface balanced with length of skull, kind eye, melting expression. Correct slope of shoulder and matching angulation to hind quarters, enough depth to body, good bone, cat like feet. Very good bend of stifle and hocks close to the ground. I will watch his career with interest.
2nd – Brothwell’s Wilanorah Soul Sister at Wissant.
My notes say “similar in type to winner of Limit”, and I noted later that they have the same sire. Blue Roan bitch, appealing head with balanced properties, good neck, straight legs, moved very well and enjoyed her day out, showed true Cocker attitude. Beautifully schooled and well handled, just lost out today because carrying slightly too much weight.

1st Bennett’s Cerysan Crusader. BP.
This 6 month old male was lovely to go over, fitted together well, coat of good colour and condition. Super head, slightly domed skull, well chiselled below eyes, obvious stop, good length of muzzle, typical shape to ears. Clean neck, sloping shoulders, slightly wider in chest than I would like, straight legs and good bone. Firm body with good ribs reaching well back and with good spring. Moved well going away and coming back, had a good attitude and plenty of ring presence, expert handling.
SPECIAL YEARLING – (2, 0 abs).

Attractive head on this 19 month old bitch, skull and muzzle of good proportions, kind eye, well shaped ears fitting closely against cheeks. Good length of neck set well into correctly sloping shoulders, impressive ribcage reaching well back. Happy disposition, but carried her tail rather high today.
2nd – Heathcote & Bourton’s Kamuntings Buzz Lightyear.
This upstanding male moved very well, and his kind handler got the best out of him. Skull slightly domed, and proportionate to length of muzzle, long neck into muscular body, only just over 12 months old and has time to drop into his stifles.
LIMIT – 2, (0 abs).
1st – Bennett’s Helgen Romeo The Lover for Flyboron. RBOB.
Balanced outline of this 5 year old male, solid dog all through. Loved his head shape, correct ears, kind eye, intelligent expression, square muzzle of medium length. Lovely straight front, cat like feet, good bone, ideal width between forelegs, deep through the brisket, well sprung ribs, level topline, muscular loin with slight arch. Moderate bend of stifle, hind pasterns parallel when viewed from behind. Exhibited wonderful kind temperament, at one with his handler.
2nd – Bowd’s Lenamore Tiger Roll.
Masculine head not overdone in any way, vine leaf shaped ears. Clean neck of good length which was well set into slope of shoulder, level topline, appealing body properties, length of body balanced with length of leg. Well up to size. Rather narrow chest and I would prefer more width across second thigh. Stylish on the move and well handled.
OPEN – 3, (1 abs).
Both lovely bitches, just preferred the more ground covering movement of 1st today.
1st – Cooper’s Isfryn Lady Grey of Gilstonia. BOB.
Lovely to go over, and symmetrical from every angle. Fits well together, with each part flowing smoothly into the next. Straight front, good bone, cat like feet, excellent angulation front and back, really good clean neck, level topline, good spring of ribs, firm loin. Power pack hindquarters, well muscled and wide, short hind pasterns parallel from behind.
2nd – Burchmore & Bowd’s Bowdonia Moon River JW.
Appealing head with proportionate properties, plenty of chiselling below eyes, kind expression, typical vine shaped ears. Neck of good length and well set into slope of shoulders, straight front legs with good bone. Topline not so firm today, and could have slightly more angulation at stifle. Moved well, handled well.

Another lovely bitch from this kennel, also handled very well and her hard condition enabled effortless movement. Loved her head, intelligent and friendly expression, clean neck to firm and level topline. Deep chest and body, with ideal width between forelegs, straight front, well sprung ribcage reaching well back. Very good turn of stifle. Close up for BOB, I just preferred the outline of the Limit winner today.
2nd – Clarke’s Sireva Sailing by Coastedge.
Appealed for depth of chest through brisket and strong straight bone, fit, and in hard condition, moved well. Plenty of width between forelegs, firm all through body with moderate tuck up at flank. Good bend of stifle, and well muscled hind quarters with hocks low to the ground. Would prefer slightly less length to loin and a tad more front angulation.

Straight front, neat elbows and webbed feet, toes close together. Good depth of brisket, lovely angles both fore and aft, strong neck, medium length of body, firm topline, ribcage well sprung and reaching well back to short strong loin. Happy disposition, kind eye and expression, dark pigment, good length of neck which was clean and muscular, pleasing length of body in proportion to height at withers, stood on cat like feet. Level mover in profile, and was straight going away and coming back, please just watch when standing that he does not relax into pasterns too much because at times his pasterns were not quite straight. Expertly handled to win here in good company.
