Puppy (6,2)

1 – Porters’, Labrador, Winnellands Vanilla Sky, bitch, fits the general appearance well, balanced with enough substance, jaws and teeth strong with correct bite, good width, good bone, well turned stifle, good feet, Free moving and true. BPIB and PG 2

2 – Foremans’, Large Munsterlander, Toberworry Little Lies, bitch, nice expression, broad ears, scissor bite, muscular neck, good width, shoulders well back, straight front, in great condition, well muscled thighs for a pup, correct tail. Correct long striding movement.

3 – O’Reilly’s, NSDTR, Tollelkin Dream Loch,

Junior (4,1)

1 –Moon’s, Sussex, Deanway Proper Charlie, excellent for breed type, correct head, showing a little too much haw, standing looked the part but wasn’t happy on the move

2 – O’Reilly’s,NSDTR, Tollelkin Dream Loch, dog, liked this boy on entering the ring. Fits the standard well but didn’t cooperate today with his handler, which cost him the class.

3 – Dr De Cleen’s, Chesapeake, Oakmarsh Jamaica Summer

1 – Bowen’s, Field,Clandrift Destiny, bitch, well chiselled head with occupit well defined, correct eye with no haw showing, long neck onto good shoulders, good coat, correct body proportions. Balanced and moved with good drive from the rear legs.

2 – Foremans’, Large Munsterlander, Toberworry Harvest Moon, dog, liked his head and eye, taller than I would like, excellent hard condition, stifle moderate, moved ok

3 – Thorogood’s, Clumber, Anbrook Don’t Stop Me Now at Harrifield

Open (6,1)

1 – Johnstones’, GWP, Canis Fortuna Harda, bitch, medium size, balanced and in excellent condition. Correct head and eye, harsh coat with correct undercoat. Strong neck onto good shoulders, good front angulation, deep chest, strong back, broad hips with good width of thigh, good feet. Moved with reach and drive. BAVNSC and Gp 3

2 – Foremans’, Large Munsterlander, Celtaur Aquarius Lake at Toberworry, bitch, fits the standard well, and another dog in great condition from this kennel. Balanced, lovely head, good straight front and rear angulation. Moved well and pushed for first place. RBAVNSC

3 – Mayhew and Middletons’, Chesapeake, Sh Ch Arnac Bay Hebe

1 – Kaye, Byrne and Barclays’, Portugeuse Pointer, Bryanelly Woody among Nizzana, dog, medium sized with good bone, skull broad with well defined stop, correct eye shape and colour, ears set high, moderate neck onto well laid shoulders, straight front, short back, well muscled hindquarters, Moved with correct trotting action.

1 – Gray and Hales’, Sunnyoak Silver Bullet at Grayales, powerful balanced dog, masculine head of correct shape without coarseness. Moderate ears, correct bite, good length of neck onto well laid shoulders, straight front, short coupled, deep chested and level topline. Strong rear with well bent stifles. Moved well. Pushed hard for BOB, RBOB and BP

2 – Barber’s, Louisdor Copper Kettle, nice balanced bitch. Lighter in bone and head not as good as winner. Tended to pull her head down which gave the appearance of an arched neck on the move. If handler can keep her head up it will improve her appearance.

1 – Poile’s, Summeramba Twizzle at Cherrimar, balance bitch, lovely head onto a good length of neck and good shoulders, straight front, plenty bone. Correct angulation front and rear. Moved well in profile. Lovely golden colour.

Open (1,0)

1 – Makers’, Wynrita Secret Agent at Dreamland, balanced male, masculine head without being coarse, scissor bite. Good straight front with correct angulation. Short coupled body with deep chest and good width. Strong rear with well bent stifles which gave him a free, true stride. BOB

Puppy (2,0)

1 – Bellamys’ Moontorn Better Half of Me, medium sized bitch, long skull with slight stop, lovely expression, scissor bite, long neck flowing onto good shoulders, deep chest, correct body adequate bend of stifle, moved with purpose. BP

2 – Kelly’s Gamerights Dragon River, balanced dog, masculine long skull, correct bite, good front and rear angulation, wouldn’t settle which cost him the class

1 – Bowen’s Candiliz Funky Monkey at Clandrift, liked this bitch’s head and expression, well balanced with straight front and moderate angulation, enough bone and moved freely and true. RBOB

2 – Hutchisons’ Waverton Illusion, Liked this bitch, lovely head, well balanced with a lovely coat, good angles front and rear. Lost the class on her erratic and exuberant movement.

3 – Bellamy’s Moontorn Goddess of Love

Open (3.1)

1 – Bellemys’ Bochilbarley Blue Moon (AI), lovely male with a super head, balanced with head well set to neck onto good shoulders, deep chested and well ribbed, moderate hindquarters. Moved freely and true. BOB

2 – Delamere’s Gamerights Deep River Blues, very nice bitch with lovely feminine head, deep chested, good front and rear, moved freely and true, would have preferred her slightly lighter.

1 – Horns’ Ordett Love me do at Keaswood, nice bitch, correct head with dark eyes, medium size ears, long clean neck, deep brisket, ribs well sprung, well bent stifles, correct feet, moved freely with drive. RBOB

Post Graduate (3,1)

1 – Brittons’ Graylacier Classic Design, dog who in profile looked very good, strong head onto correct body shape, good bone. Although moved true did not move freely today

2 – Harris’s Annie-Macrae Dowry Town, lovely balanced bitch, correct head and neck, deep chest with good angles front and rear. Moved well in profile.

1 – Brittons’ Graylacier Portreath, balanced dog, looked strong and very masculine. Walked in to a four square position without the need to place legs. Correct head, deep chest and good angles. Moved round the ring with ease. BOB

1 – Kemp’s Arrowbien Ivy Queen, very nice puppy bitch with potential, nice rounded skull with clearly defined stop, round eyes, scissor bite, good spring of rib, short coupled, good bone, moved well. BP

1 – Mangira’s Exclamation Roll with it (imp Fin), dog, balanced, lovely chiselled round head, correct eyes and scissor bite, correct set ears, strong jaw, deep shoulders, straight front, deep chest, good spring of rib, short coupled with strong sloping back, well muscled rear with good angles, moved with purpose and drive, hind legs moving parallel without any effort. BOB and Gp1

1 – Niessen’s Am Ch Rotojet’s Roll Call (imp USA},another lovely dog who pushed BOB in challenge, chiselled head, scissor bite, correct ears, deep shoulders, good spring of rib, straight front, short coupled with strong topline, good angles front and rear, not the easy effortless movement today of my BOB. RBOB

Gp 1 – Mangira’s Exclamation Roll with it (imp Fin)

Gp 2 – McAllister’s Rumolboys Cascade of Fire (Lagotto), lovely squarely built bitch, nice head of correct proportions, large round eyes, ears set above the level of eye, shortish neck, well laid back shoulders, straight front, compact body, good bend of stifle compact feet, free moving with drive.

Gp 3 – Johnstons’ Canis Fortuna Harda

Gp 4 – Richardson’s Bluesprings Now I’m Here at Forestfire (Irish Sett), balanced “racey” dog, long lean oval head, clean neck onto good shoulders, deep chest with well sprung ribs, good width of thigh, well bent stifle, free flowing movement, good coat and feathering

Gundog Puppy Group

PG 1 – Dymond’s Quintana Diamond Dust at Friarsbelle (GSP), only just 6 month dog, noble looking dog who looked the part, medium size covering plenty of ground, clean skull, eyes giving a soft impression, high set ears, scissor bite, muscular neck onto good shoulders, elbows well back, deep chest and short coupled, ribs well sprung, good bone, wide hips, hocks square, well bent stifles. Smooth powerful gait with drive covering the ground effortlessly. Excellent prospect and look forward to following his career

PG 2 – Porters’ Winnelands Vanilla Sky (Labrador)

PG 3 – Blackley & Saleros’ Wightroche the Bee (Cocker), well balanced merry bitch, square muzzle, full dark eye, scissor bite, lobular ears set low, neck muscular set into fine sloping shoulders, compact body, well rounded hindquarters, cat like feet. Moved true with merry action.

PG 4 – Kemp’s Arrowbien Ivy Queen

Puppy Stakes (59,32)

Some lovely puppies in this class and could have done with more than one first place.

1 – Treageeda Anastasia (MSmDachs), very nice long, low bitch, balanced conical head tapering to nose, ears set high, strong teeth with scissor bite, neck clean, long shoulder blades, strong ribcage, strong breastbone, loin short, rump full and looks powerful, parallel free movement with drive

2 – Arcticskies Silver Fox, impressive dog, medium size, fox like head, ears set high, scissor bite, arched neck onto well laid back shoulders, straight front with close fitting elbows, height to length in correct proportions, straight topline on a strong looking body, well muscled for age, oval feet, effortless movement. Could easily change places with the winner on another day.

3 – Wightroche the Bee

Veteran Stakes (28, 16)

Some beautiful veterans went without cards today and I was amazed at the quality of the placed dogs. Could have done with FIVE first places.

1 – Johnstons’ ShCh/Lux/NL/BEL/DtCh Vdh Charmer vd Tuindershof with Glenquin(imp), quality medium sized dog who has just reached his prime. Best of heads, strong neck onto sloping muscular shoulders, deep chest with well sprung ribs, strong well muscled thighs, sooth action with reach and drive. Could not be denied the class

2 – ShCh Cherryheath’s Mr Mischief JW ShCM, 10 year old dog, symmetrical appearance, slightly domed skull, dark eyes, scissor bite, long muscular neck, straight front, deep brisket with well sprung ribs, moderate bend of stifle with well let down hocks. His movement belied his age, it was smooth with a powerful driving action.
