Kent County Canine Association

KENT CKENT COUNTY CA, August 22nd 2021

Kent County Canine Association held their open show at Maidstone with a lovely entry all through. I had to stand in as the appointed judge was unable to fulfil her appointment to judge BIS & Bulldogs. I gladly said yes as this Club was the first one I was involved in back in the late 70s. Thank you to the officers & committee for organising this show for everyone who has badly been missing the open shows at one of our favourite venues & of course thanks too to all the hard working stewards who gave up their Sunday to be there for us.

Best in show went to the Bulldog, Blenhiemstar Star Lord, who said “I’m winning, who is standing reserve to me!” RBIS was Protheroe’s Royalmaple Higledy Piggledy, this Miniature Smooth Dachshund youngster is so very feminine & correct, she is balanced with a beautiful head & expression, strong, well held topline with a good forechest & ribcage, well set & carried tail, when she moved she was so true with an excellent head carriage, good bone & feet, showed well through to the end of the day. BPIS, Barnes & Andrews’ Claran Copper Nebula at Izlou, orange sable German Spitz (Mittel) put down to the minute, still an absolute baby but what a future I reckon he will have. Took it all in his stride, he is balanced & had such a beautiful head & expression with well set & carried ears, well set & carried tail; RBPIS, Goddard’s Awbrooksky Never Back Down, young Border Terrier boy who is well bred, he is quality & he too will have many tussles for he has a good head & expression, lovely neck & forequarters, good topline, spannable, with a well set tail, in good coat, moved & showed well for his handler. BVIS, Eardley’s Ryazan Perdita of Hillowhawks, feminine Borzoi bitch of 9 who I have judged before & can see no reason to change my views, she is lovely, in excellent coat & condition, feminine head & expression & moved so true to win in a good line-up; RBVIS, Cherry’s Ch Lynces Diamonds And Pearls, Tibetan Terrier bitch who at 11 is not showing her age at all, she is balanced with a lovely head carried well in profile, in excellent coat & condition, showed her socks off to win her place here.
