Whippets

Puppy (4) 1, Wilton-Clark’s Shalfleet Chasing the Wind, br/w, just 6 months; lean head, good length of neck, excellent front assembly with good depth and fill for age, strong rear with well-turned stifles, stands over plenty of ground, moved very well in all directions with plenty of activity, still a little soft in topline at present but that should come with maturity BP & PG2. 2, Lipscombe’s Selinko Honeysuckle, f/w bitch, good front and feet, well muscled rear, good depth of brisket, strong over the loin, movement was steady and clean; 3, Aldridge’s Selinko Zinia at Pondiver.

Junior (2, 1 abs) 1, Reece’s Saleehah Swift, elegant fawn bitch, feminine head, good front, nicely sprung pasterns, plenty of heartroom, stepped out well in profile and clean out and back.

Post Graduate (7, 1) 1, Reece’s Saleehah Moonflower, shapely br/w with a super head, dark eye, fine ears and plenty of underjaw. Very good front, springy pasterns and tight feet, gentle arch over strong loin and well-muscled rear, excellent profile movement, close up; 2, Bingham’s Lolani Jazzed Up, pleasing fawn male of very nice make and shape; masculine outlook, good conformation all through. He was unhappy due to the noise from the adjacent ring and would not settle to his work, thus movement was hard to assess. 3, Hills’ Shimmeree Cool Calico.

Limit (3,1) , Bingham’s Wrenalla Steel, light f/br, pleasing masculine head, well balanced curvy outline, sound all through and he was clean out and back with daisy cutting action in profile, standing over plenty of ground, a quality hound. RBOB, Best RBOB Hound and Best RBOB in show. 2, Hills’ Shimmeree Black Liberty, petite b/w bitch, feminine head, would like a bit more fill under the eye. Very good front and feet, well ribbed up and stands over ample ground. Moving OK but a touch wide behind.

Open (4) 1, Wilton-Clark’s Shalfleet Toy Story, red br/w, a proper stallion hound, with super ring presence; lovely lean masculine head with flat skull, good length of neck into correct front, deep chest and well ribbed up, pleasing arch over good length of broad loin, well muscled rear which propelled him round the ring with long, precise and free stride. Liked him as a puppy and lovely to see him maturing so well; BOB, G1 and BIS; 2, Hills’ Shimmeree Black Satin JW, black, very different in type, petite and feminine, nicely made all through; a touch soft in topline but she won this place on her movement, pin sharp out and back and really free and active in profile; 3, Rainsbury’s Shalfleet Sir Tom JW ShCM.

Veteran (2) 1, Reece’s Danluke Disco Dancer at Gabledene, 7 y/o fawn in excellent shape, substantial and masculine, well balanced angulation, good length and depth, moved very well in all directions; 2, Hills’ Shimmeree Chantilly Lace, elegant 8 yo black, again in excellent condition, good neck and shoulder, gently arched topline with ribbing of good length, well muscled rear. Moved well in profile.

Bearded Collies

Puppy (3) 1, Jones’ Clanwillow Amazing Grace, what a lovely pup. Typical, well balanced head with feminine outlook, black nose, strong teeth; balanced angulation, good height/length proportions and she moved superbly with a light free active stride, kept topline well on the move; in very good coat and well-presented; she must have a good future. BP and couldn’t see past her for BOB, went on to PG2 today; 2, Kay’s Matamata Homely House, nice masculine youngster of overall good conformation, pleasing head and front, moved soundly and cleanly if not with the animation of the winner; 3, Webb’s Riveybreeze Sapphire Cedar.

Special Yearling (3, 1 abs) 1, Salmon’s Potterdale Heritage, well balanced proportions, pleasing masculine head, very good front and forechest, topline kept well on the move, clean all round and in very good coat; RBOB. 2, Bevis’ Beabeardie’s Cinnamon Girl, nice type with a feminine head, clean front, and well- balanced angles; good topline and proportions, moved OK but needs more schooling, just lacked finish.

Limit (4,2) 1, Hinchcliffe’s Pretty Bear Beautiful Bill at Crossdale (Imp Deu), r/w, nice balanced head and decent front, well angled rear and moved pretty well all round, a bit soft in topline at present but has time on his side; 2, Kay’s Talraz Golden Memories at Matamata, very nice typy head and expression, good front, plenty of depth and ribbing, keeping topline well and she moved OK. Tail carried over back on the move which detracts from her outline.

Open (2,1) Bevis’ Ramsgrove Sunshine, 4 y/o slate, very nice too; good balance to her feminine head, clean front, strong well-angled rear, level topline, good length of body and ribbing, well furnished. I understand it was her first show and she does need a little more schooling but has a lot to like.

Rough Collies

Puppy (1) Corben’s Wiswyn All Dressed Up via Caprioara (Imp Por), delightful 6 months tri baby, still in fluffy puppy coat, so fascinated with everything around her; clean skull with level planes and well set neatly tipped ears, excellent front and correct topline, she moved really well, plenty of drive from the rear and excellent tail carriage, a lot of growing to do but she is promising; BP & PG4.

Special Yearling (1) 1, Corben & Moore’s Welanga Winter Carols via Caprioara, b/m youngster, a nice type with good conformation all through and moved pretty well especially behind, good strong rear and correct tail carriage. Good clear blue and rich tan markings. Just at the in-between age and he is rather out of coat at present.

Limit (4) 1, Benton’s Brooklynson El Dorado, 4 y/o sable, masculine head and outlook with well set ears and eye placement, good skull planes; he is a proper Collie with plenty of scope who looks as if he could work all day, correct proportion of height to length, moved with drive and purpose, good tail carriage and plenty of ring presence, profuse well-fitted jacket and beautifully presented; cracking dog. BOB; 2, Cooper’s Lilith Nar Sule of Kelekona, sable youngster who looked a little unfinished next to the main winners but I liked her a lot; well balanced head, good angulation both ends, correct topline and she moved very well all round; 3, Corben’s Caprioara Winter Solstice.

Open (4) 1, Benton’s Ch Brooklynson Jane Russell of Oakestelle, lovely 6 y/o sable, balanced head with well set ears used all the time, so correct in conformation and with plenty of scope, movement was so light, free and active and she never stopped showing. In the challenge, though her handler did a great job she was just not concentrating or settling as well and had to give way to her younger kennelmate. RBOB and I hear that she later won the Champion Stakes; 2, Corben’s Astromelias Ulises via Caprioria (imp Esp), 5 y/o masculine dark sable, well-balanced mature male with a strong masculine head, well made all through and he moved very well all round, in full coat; not keen on showing his ears today; 3, Wray-Ramsden’s Beldones Duchess of Dreams.

Old English Sheepdogs

Puppy (1) 1, Pullen’s A Kiss from a Rose at Meadowbears, classy feminine youngster with typical outline, good head and pigment, soundly made all through and made the most of her good construction on the move, very promising. BP.

Special Yearling (1) Campbell’s Mellowdee My Sweet Boy, just out of puppy, very nice head and strong jaw, decent front with breed typical topline and he moved well when he settled, will need time as he is at the in-between age. RBOB.

Open (1) Pullen’s Meadowbears Master of Music, substantial male, balanced skull to muzzle with excellent dark pigment, well made all through with striking outline, good depth and length of rib, moved really well with typical rolling gait, just 2 y/o and more to come from him I would think. BOB.
