My thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge Irish and Gordon Setters and to my steward for her help and to the hardy exhibitors who turned up as the weather was awful.   

Irish Setters 

Puppy :- 1(1) 

Special Yearling :- No entries

Post Grad :- 3 (2)

1st and BoB. Sloanes. Gwendariff the Purple Star. 2 year old bitch with a pleasant head with eyes of the correct colour and raised brows, correct occipital bone protuberance and slight arch to her long neck into good shoulders, she has a good forefront going into a deep chest, decent spring of rib, nice gently sloping topline into tail set which for me is a little low set on. She has good angles fore and aft with moderate bend to stifles and nice small feet with arched toes. On the move in profile she showed nice forward extension

1st Sloanes. Ferasheen Jindea. Lovely fine head on this 4 year old girl with nice head planes with lovely raised brows, eyes of correct colour and correct bite, another with correct occipital bone protuberance and slight arch to her neck of correct moderate length. Good shoulders and deep chest although a little narrow in front. She has nice angles fore and aft. She has a gentle slope to her topline into correct tail set. Her movement let her down as she was very happy and bouncy so difficult to assess.  

Gordon Setters

Open :- 3 (2) 

1st and BoB, Millar & Scobie. Yennadon Benriach. Stood alone in this class, this 4 year old boy has a good head with good depth to his muzzle and good stop with eyes of correct colour and well placed ears. Good length to slightly arched neck into good shoulders. He has a good deep chest. Good level topline and tail set. He has good angles both fore and aft. He moved well round the small ring.
