Puppy Dog. (6 ent,2 abs)

1st B Baxter & N Riley, Bermary Captain Hastings.

A 10-month-old well-made pale coated boy nicely presented in profuse coat. He stood perfectly for his handler in the line and again whilst being assessed. He has a lovely masculine head no coarseness and good pigment flowing into a good length of neck. His shoulder placement is well laid back and he is well angled both front and rear with a good bend of stifle.

He moved well with such confidence and drive holding his top line throughout, that, I did not to expect to see from a dog of only 10 months, he is very mature for his age. I was pleased to award him Best Puppy and delighted when my co judge was in agreement to award him Best Puppy in Breed.

2nd J Gerhold, Navalis Nouveau Venu (IMP UKRAINE)

Another pale coated boy well presented in a delightful wavy coat. At 11 months old he is slightly smaller than the winner but very well put together. This boy has the most lovely calm and gentle demeanour about him. He stood four square as I assessed him and was calm and biddable throughout. He has a lovely head a kind dark eye good pigment and a melting expression.

He has good shoulder placement a nice length of neck and a level topline also kept on the move. A nice spring of rib and well angled fore and aft. He was well handled and moved with enthusiasm and confidence.

2nd J Broadhead Monchique Last Samurai

Another very attractive eye-catching young male presented in a pale gold wavy coat similar to the winner who presented me with a difficult decision to make. He was well handled and a pleasure to go over, he has the most appealing head and lovely dark pigment, he has a good reach of neck into a nice laid back shoulder position well angled fore and aft with a nice spring of rib he is short coupled with a level top line. A lovely boy I liked him a lot I just think the winner moved better today.

2nd Midnight Star Bursztynowy Aporter

This boy had been presented today in the junior class. He is a mid-gold coated boy who has a happy temperament and was clearly enjoying his day out. His owner told me this was only the second show they had attended. I felt he was confident and outgoing in personality. He had the correct scissor bite a nice male head and a kind eye. He also had a nice shoulder placement and good spring of rib he moved happily and confidently with his handler today.

Post Graduate Dog (4 ent 2 abs)

1st K & A Wallis Blue Gemstone Katrina

I have had the pleasure of judging this boy before when he was a junior. Since then, he has matured beautifully. A very attractive mid coated boy who didn’t put a foot wrong today and was seriously considered for Best of Breed. He has the gentlest of expressions a beautiful head without any coarseness and lovely pigment he is always shown to perfection and is at one with his handler.

He has good angulation fore and aft with a good bend of stifle, a lovely deep forechest and a good spring of rib, a nice level topline and correct tailset which he holds on the move. He moved well today with confidence and good drive.

2nd J Hicks Cornborough Poachers Moon

Another lovely boy well presented in a beautiful gold wavy coat. He stood well in the line and for the assessment paying complete attention to his handler. He was a pleasure to go over calm but confident and stood perfectly four square until he was asked to move.

He has a lovely head typical of the breed a good length of neck into a well laid-back shoulder placement, a nice straight front and is well angled fore and aft. He is short coupled and overall presented a lovely outline. Another dog that presented a difficult decision but on the day the winner moved out with more drive.

Open Dog. (5 ent 3abs)

1st J Wild Quakerhall Sea Master by Bluewaters

A beautiful four-year-old dog well presented in a rich dark gold coat which just gleamed in the sun today. He stood four square perfectly balanced looking up at his handler with the happiest wagging tail. He has a lovely masculine head with the most gentle expression and lovely dark eyes, a good length of neck into a lovely shoulder layback he is deep through the chest with an excellent spring of rib with a level topline and correct tailset. He moved out with great drive and enthusiasm.

What caught my eye was when he was on the stand that it was his overall balance and symmetry I was immediately drawn to and was happy to award him best dog and delighted when my co judge agreed on awarding him Best of Breed today.

2nd C & C Endean Lawpark Skyfall for Chlodyl

Another lovely boy I have had the pleasure of judging before almost three years ago. He was well presented in a lovely gold coat, he has a lovely head with no courseness, a good reach of neck into well laid back shoulders a good length of leg and lovely tight feet one of his attributes I admired the last time I saw him. He has a nice topline and correct tailset which he holds on the move.

This boy is a good quality dog, one I have always admired, he was unlucky to have come up against the winner today
