I would like to thank the committee of Birmingham and District Toy Dog Society for inviting me to judge at their Christmas Open Show and my efficient steward John Purnell who kept the ring running smoothly for me. In these uncertain times, I was delighted to have a good quality entry and would like to thank all the exhibitors for bringing their lovely dogs for me to go over.

Chinese Crested

P: (3,3)

J: (1) 1. Boden’s Ensidias You Me You Wish At Gemadar (Swed Imp). Well presented 15 month old dog with lovely masculine head and alert expression. Muzzle tapered slightly, dark almond shaped eyes and correct dentition. Well angulated and moved gracefully around the ring with good reach and drive. Very attentive to handler. BOB

PG: (3) 1. Boden’s Clezel’s Habibi Soft’n Sweet Gemadar (Swed Imp). Beautifully presented 2 year old powderpuff dog with gleaming white coat. Alert and happy with expressive dark eyes, chiselled cheeks tapering into muzzle, good angulation and moved well.

2. Parker’s Ynchreenoo Black Magic at Khatira. Lovely black and white 2 year old powderpuff dog with excellent temperament. Very spirited and happy, well balanced head, good angulation and moved well.

3. Masters’ Doucai’s Show Boy.

O: (5,3) 1. Masters’ Esquimaux Skin Deep. Well presented 9 year old dog in super condition. Lovely well balanced head with large erect ears and dark expressive almond-shaped eyes which he used to good effect. Alert and happy. Well angulated and moved gracefully around the ring. RBOB

2. Routledge & McGowan’s Pufflepaws Prosecco Please. Lovely 2 year old bitch with balanced head, tapered muzzle, large ears and dark almond shaped eyes. Good angulation and moved well, maintaining a level topline.

Griffon Bruxellois

P: (2) 1. Swinge’s Balthazar Pillow Talk. A super 8 month old red bitch. Cobby and well balanced with high set tail at right angles from her level topline. Lovely head with dark, round eyes, black nose with wide-open nostrils and small erect ears. Lively, smart and alert, this bitch owned the ring as she moved around it with good reach and drive. BP & RBOB

2. Suggitt’s Aptrick Alpha Centaurus. Lovely 7 month old black dog. Smart and very lively, he was a real character! Masculine head with round, dark eyes, black nose, correct dentition. Well angulated. Movement ok - difficult to judge as very spirited.

J: (1) 1. Swinge’s Balthazar Supersonic. 15 month old rough coated red dog, presented in excellent condition. Alert and lively with round, dark eyes, monkey-like expression and cobby, well-balanced body. Moved well.

PG: (3,1) 1. Suggitt’s Aptrick Teacake Time. 19 month old black & tan rough coated bitch in excellent condition. Lovely expressive eyes, black nose, small erect ears and correct dentition. Cobby and well balanced. Moved well maintaining a level topline.

2. Suggitt’s Aptrick One Day Like This. 19 month old smooth coat black dog with lovely head and expression. Lively and alert. Good angulation and moved well. Just needs time to mature.

O: (2,1) 1. White’s Emjaycee Time Flies At Wistleyhill. 3 year old red rough coated dog. Ideal size and shape, cobby, square and well balanced. He oozed personality. Typical Griffon head with very dark, round eyes, black nose with large wide-open nostrils, neat lips with good turn up, furnished with good length of beard. Well angulated and carried tail well on the move maintaining a level topline. BOB
