AVNSC PASTORAL

Puppy D/B (5,3)

1. Birdsall's Beauvallon Realms of Glory (O.E.S.). Super compact body on this eight month old blue and white bitch, strong but feminine head with broad muzzle, well off for bone and nice square outline. Coat coming in nicely, steady gait but would just like to see her moved a bit quicker. Best AVNSC Puppy and Puppy Group 2. 2. Brock's Lumikoira Luminayra (Finnish Lapphund). Raw seven month old tri baby, broad head with dark eyes, nice outline and good bone, forechest developing well, strong hindquarters and moving easily.

Post Graduate D/B (4,2)

1. Cork's Jandade Precious Chanel (Briard). Upstanding nineteen month old black bitch with a well balanced head and strong muzzle, well carried ears, arched neck, firm level topline, good angulation, good ground covering gait and harsh coat. Reserve Best AVNSC. 2. Clark's Lumikoira Maitosuklaa at Lumenico (Finnish Lapphund). Four year old brown tri male with a broad skull, dark eyes, good overall make and shape, straight topline, bit sluggish on the move today.

1. Clark's Oberitz Trollnisse at Lumenico (Finnish Lapphund). Very well balance seven year old tri male, well proportioned head and excellent body shape, well angulated and moved with a lovely action. In super coat and condition. Best AVNSC and Group 3. 2. Wilson's Jandade Precious Blossom JW (Briard). Nicely proportioned head on this almost three year old fawn bitch. Well angulated front and rear, and good harsh coat. Steady mover. 3. Angier & Stacey's Icon Du Bruine Buck at Birkcross (IMP NLD) (BSD Groenendael). Well balanced four year old male, a good head and in excellent coat, but rather unsettled today.

1. Milham's Catch The Magic The Winter Souls via Shadowshack (IMP ESP) White Swiss Shepherd). Almost two year old male, this WSS is very striking with a nice head and expression, good dentition, well angulated and has a good topline. He moved well but today was rather unsettled on the stand.

1. Hartfield's Moshanta Move On. Pretty well balanced black and white bitch of just seven months, keen expression and darkest of eyes. Good reach of neck into decent shoulders and a good topline which she held on the move. Well angulated and coat coming in nicely. Moved as well as she looked and happy to not only give her BP, but also the Puppy Group and a Junior Stakes class. 2. Jackson's Moptopia's Urizon (IMP DEU). Almost a year old this tri coloured lad is longer cast and a bit rangy at present. His topline is good and he moves well, just needs time to mature.

Open (3) 1. Hartfield's Moshanta May Contain Nuts JW. Two year old black and white male with a well proportioned head, dark eyes, well used ears and a good neck into a well angulated front. Lovely for type, pleased to award him Best of Breed and Group 2. 2. Angier, Stacey & Seghezzi's Aus Ch Wynnlake A Drop In The Ocean (IMP AUS). Two year old black and white male, maturing nicely with a strong head, although I found his stop a little deep. He held his topline on the move and was in good coat and condition. Tailset a little high. Reserve Best of Breed 3. Hoskins Birkcross Gracie at Lefevre.

Puppy D/B (2,1)

1. Straw's Dukeson Laced With Magic. This almost one year old sable bitch puppy has a pretty head with well used ears and dark almond shaped eyes. She has a good topline and is well angulated, with good width of thigh. Her coat is coming nicely. Her movement is ok but could do with being moved a tad quicker. Best Puppy and Puppy Group 3.

1. Haensel's Philhope Summer Highlights at Sherkarl. Pretty two year old sable and white bitch with the sweetest expression. She has neat well used ears and an arched neck flowing into a well balanced body and it is all covered with a quality coat. Her movement is a delight, with an easy ground covering gait. Pleased to give her Best of Breed and then first in a strong Pastoral Group . 2. Rennison's Kiss Ze Shetlandu by Zaniah (IMP CZE). Pretty bi-blue bitch just two years old and still needs to finish. Well used ears, and balanced head but colouring doesn't lend itself to the sweetness of expression. Make and shape is good overall and she holds her topline on the move, although I just preferred the daisy cutting action of (1). Reserve Best of Breed. 3. Mettan-Ure's Valdosta Dare To Dream of Savendie.

Open D/B (4,2) 1. Fagg's Dukeson Golden Fleece at Linscot. Three year old sable and white male in full coat. Good head and expression, would prefer a bit more reach of neck. Moved very well and kept his topline. 2. Standen's Kaimeadow Dusty Magic. Two year old sable and white male, rangier type who needs to fill his frame. Well used ears and dark eyes, longer in back than I would like and coat needs to finish.

I stood in to judge the following two breeds, and would like to thank the exhibitors for accepting my decisions.

1. Wells' Amalie Just Annie at Terelimon. Two year old sable and white bitch, pretty head and expression, well placed and used ears. Good reach of neck, in good coat and held her topline on the move. Best of Breed.

GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG

Post Graduate (1)

1. Whitehead's Jessoula Sylas Finale. Nineteen month old black and tan male with a masculine head, dark eye, well used ears but they could be a tad larger. Good height to depth ratio but a bit longer in loin than I would like, although he is well angulated and has got a good tailset. He moved well once settled but was rather a handful for his handler.

1. Nolcini's Ch Broadmaynes Eclipse to Nolmacdon JW ShCM ShCEx. At a few weeks short of his eighth birthday this big gold sable lad sure knows his job. He has a masculine head with dark eyes and well used ears, good reach of neck into a straight back and well moulded croup. I do find his rear angulation a bit overdone, but he makes the most of it on the move and covers the ground with ease. Asked for and was awarded Best of Breed, Group 4 and AV Pastoral Veteran. 2. Milham's Shadowshack's My Girl. Four year old black and gold bitch with a strong but feminine head and expression. A bit deeper in body than I prefer, she has a decent topline held on the move. Reserve Best of Breed. 3. Whitehead's Jessoula Sylas Finale.

1. Nolcini's Ch Broadmayne's Eclipse to Nolmacdon JW ShCM ShCEx (GSD). 2. Stacey's Story Rex Irreplaceable (IMP ITA) (Border Collie). Seven year old black and white bitch with a good head and keen expression, decent topline and good angulation. Moving well. 3. Elcome's Kiltondale Unique Diamond (Bearded Collie).

1. Hartfield's Moshanta Move On (Border Collie). My BP in Breed and Puppy Group winner. 2. Bullis' Amaffrey Truly Scrumptious (Mini Smooth Dachs). Seventeen month old red bitch, super head and expression with a spirit level topline, well proportioned and just enough ground clearance. Movement was a joy to watch. 3. Shepherd's Kidaruka It's Showtime at Oxana (Whippet).
