WOLSINGHAM & WEAR VALLEY AGRICULTURAL SHOW

5/9/21

A really enjoyable old fashioned country show, lovely atmosphere, enthusiastic exhibitors with some lovely dogs for me to go over.

Shetland Sheepdogs

P (4,1)

1. Walker's Tooralie Miablue Ma Belle. Best Puppy and PG3. Seven month old tricolour bitch with a nicely proportioned head with well used ears giving a sweet expression. Compact, balanced and coat coming in nicely. Moving very well for one so young. 2. Hateley's Lizmark Lullaby Moon Over Mohnesee. Pretty blue merle bitch of eleven and a half months, looking more mature than one, slightly longer cast, looks good in profile although a little unsettled on the move and slightly close behind. In good coat and condition. 3. Sutherland's Shelcrest Winter Solstice.

J (1)

1. Hateley's Mohnesee Mr Bobbie Black. Seventeen months tricolour male, now coming into his own. Lovely head proportions, well developed underjaw, nicely balanced body with good length of back, moved very well and his gleaming black coat was a picture.

PG (6,2)

1. Mohnesee Mr Bobbie Black. 2. Sutherland's Shougies Starmaker. Two year old tricolour male, nice head and expression, well used ears. Good body proportions, not quite the drive of (1`). 3. Malone's Pathaaron After The Storm.

O (4,1)

1. Hateley's Mohnesee Sweet Dreams (JW). Three and a half year old sable bitch, lovely for type, gorgeous head and sweetest expression, well proportioned and excellent angulation. Coat in super condition and moved with style holding her topline. Best of Breed and G2. 2. Walker's Tooralie's Ocho Rios (JW). Three year old shaded sable male with a magnificent coat. Nice head proportions but ears carried a little wide, well arched neck. Another in lovely coat and condition. Just preferred the hind movement of (1). 3. Bird & Caden's Molson Mr Blue Sky (JW).

Bearded Collie

J (4,1)

1. Harcourt & Brown's Farmarens Imperial Highness At Orora (Imp Swe) NAF. Nine month old slate bitch with a strong but feminine head, good front and well sprung ribs. Topline held well on the move and good angulation front and rear giving good reach of stride. Harsh coat coming nicely showing off her lovely outline. Best Puppy and PG2. 2. Whelan & Young's Corimist Destiny By Design. Just over a year old this black and white bitch has a good head, with well placed ears and eyes, good length of neck into an excellent topline. Preferred the slightly harsher coat of (1). 3. Alexander & Leckenby's Kiltondale Cherokee.

PG (4,3)

1. Leckenby's Kiltondale Chicago Flame (JW). Three year old slate male, broad head, tad long in muzzle, good length of back and strong rear end. Excellent coat texture, easy ground covering gait. Rather proud of his tail.

O (3,1)

1. Whelan & Young's Corimist Glamour Girl. Two year old slate bitch with a balanced head, good neck and length of back with a level topline. Well sprung ribs, and excellent angulation. In very good coat and moving with ease. Best of Breed and G4. 2. Leckenby's Kiltondale Amarillo Star. Five year old slate male, masculine head with well placed ears, good length of back but a bit long in loin with a rather sloping croup. In good coat.

Pyrenean Mountain Dog

PG (2,2)

O (4,2)

1. Holmes' Ch Lisjovia Estevez. Best of Breed and G3. Handsome male just one day short of his fifth birthday. Well proportioned head, with dark eyes and neat ears. Broad chest with well muscled back keeping a level topline, strong rear end, and enough angulation both front and rear. Such an easy mover and a pleasure to judge him. 2. Holmes' Lisjovia Takahashi JW ShCM. Five year old male of smaller type, not quite the head proportions of (1) although he has lovely dark eyes. He is balanced in body and has enough angulation. Wasn't able to match the movement of the winner.

Border Collie

J (2)

1. Alexander & Turner & McDonald's Locheil Dream Come True. Ten month old black and white puppy bitch, with a pretty head and expression. Well used ears, dark eyes, well balanced throughout with a good topline, excellent angulation fore and aft, moved extremely well and happy to give her Best of Breed and the Puppy Group. 2. Chance's Goytre Chance To Reflect. Sixteen month old black and white male, slightly longer cast overall than the puppy, good head proportions, with dark eyes and well used ears, holds a good topline. Preferred the tailset of (1).

PG (1)

1. Grant's Coussiere Quickstep. Two year old black and white male, strong in head, dark eyes, ears could be higher. Good body proportions, topline and angulation. Could move with a bit more enthusiasm!

O (3,2)

1. Grant's Coussiere Dancing Queen. Six year old black and white bitch, dark eyes, ears a tad wide and rather short in muzzle. Good front and topline, but croup falls away. Well angulated, and moved ok.

Samoyed

PG (2,2)

O (2)

1. Brandenberg & Smith's Taronakits It's Kwest (JW). Three year old bitch of good breed type. Strong but feminine head, which is well balanced, excellent outline with good proportions and good hind angulation and has a strong driving action. Coat in superb condition and really sparkled. Best of Breed. 2. Dent's Whitespirit Madam Mischief. Five year old bitch, built on stronger lines all through than (1). Preferred the head of the winner, and she was carrying a bit extra weight which spoiled her outline. Lovely temperament and moved with enthusiasm.

Collie (Rough)

PG (2,1)

1. Fox's Alanita Whispered Gossip. Almost two year old sable and white bitch, well proportion head with nicely placed eyes and well used ears. Nice outline with a good length of back and good topline. Front ok but would prefer a little more hind angulation. Moving well. Best of Breed.

O (2)

1. Bridge's Dipdown Cheeky Lady Lilly. Seven year old tricolour bitch, head rather narrow making it look rather long. Good reach of neck, level topline and a bit long in loin. In good coat and condition. Moving well. 2. Fox's Alanita African Jazz. Two year old male, preferred his head to the winner but his outline was rather spoilt by his angulation, which resulted in rather a stilted gait. Shown in good coat and condition.

Old English Sheepdog

L (4,2)

1. Laybourne & Johnson's Mellowdee Paws In Thyme In Dominoesdale (JW). Three year old male with a strong head, well arched neck, compact body with enough rear angulation. He has a harsh coat and moves with style. Best of Breed. 2. Sutherland's Ambleoak Northern Star At Aljoh. Sixteen month old bitch going through that youthful stage, needs to finish all through. Pretty head with neat ears, topline ok, enough angulation and moved well enough.

O (2,1)

1. Laybourne & Johnson's Mellowdee Patsy's Spirit in Dominoesdale. Four year old bitch with a balanced head and compact body. Harshest of coats, good outline and angulation, rather unsettled on the go round making it difficult to assess movement.

1. Bycroft's Niavana Odyssey. Three year old fawn bitch, pretty head, compact outline and held her topline well on the move. Well off for bone, and enough angulation.
