Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla

PG (1): 1 RBOB, Howard’s Zoldmali Latin Lover (Imp), balanced in outline with good quality bone, stands straight & true with lovely tight feet, correct length of body, excellent topline, displayed a lovely temperament with his handler & with me. I would like to see this dog move in a larger ring so he can get into his stride, well handled. O (2): Two males very different from each other. 1 BOB Briley’s Zoldmali Irka-Firka at Canalgame (Imp), upstanding male with good body ratios. Appealing head with nice ear leathers & coat, well off for bone, moderate length of neck. He has a lovely presence about him & it’s on the move when he catches your eye – he strides out easily with well-muscled quarters & holds himself in a regal manner holding his topline as he does so. I think he still has some maturing to do; needs to drop down into himself. When he was baited this brought more angle & seamless lines which I preferred to when being held in the stack; 2 Howard’s Lanokk Szivos JW, appeals in outline, lovely forechest, brisket down to elbow, well laid shoulders, correct bend of stifle. Moved co-ordinately but preferred the rear pasterns & movement of 1.

Lagotto Romagnolo

SY (1): 1 Colonna’s Arcticbreeze Aerodynamic, 14 months o/w & a little overwhelmed by the proceedings so hard to assess. Stands foursquare, attentive to her handler, lovely expression, compact in appearance, lovely topline, excellent angles fore & aft. Would like stronger rear pasterns. PG (2): 1 BOB McAllister’s Rumolboys Cascade Of Fire, brown roan bitch, stands out both standing & moving for sheer balance. Lovely proportions being compact, good coat, brisket down to elbow, excellent topline which she kept on the move, excellent angles both fore & aft. Has an attitude about her which gave her an extra edge. Looking at her breeding I notice I have done well for her sire. Good genes! She deserved her shortlist in Best in Show. Well done! 2 Worrall’s Gaestan Tatler’s Tessie, good size & bone, endearing expression, brisket down to elbow. Feel if she relaxed more into her performance she would flow better - preferred the movement of 1. O (1): 1 RBOB, Monk’s Mizani Diorbe of Vienna, really lovely brown girl with good coat, very together & balanced in appearance. Holds her topline well both standing & moving with strong loin. Endearing expression, good feet, excellent angles fore & aft. Moved well going around but preferred the rear movement of the BOB winner.

Field Spaniel

PG (1): 1 BOB, Bowen’s Clandrift Destiny, alone but deserving of her award. Presents a nice picture standing, appealing head, brisket down to elbow, good depth of forechest, excellent ribbing, moderate bend of stifle, lovely muscled quarters & taught body lines. Moved well despite trying to hoover up all the bait around the ring!

Sussex Spaniel

Y (4,1a): Competitive class with three exhibits all at 14 months. 1 RBOB, Beecham’s Crumbledor Albus Dumbledor, appeals in outline, excellent neck into shoulders, round tidy feet, good bone, brisket down to elbow, in good condition, strong topline, moved & handled well; 2 Moon’s Deanway Proper Charlie, difficult decision between 1 & 2. Quality male, appeals in outline, handsome headpiece, brisket down to elbow which are tight, correct angulation both ends. Preferred the topline of 1 on the move but this could be down to his wriggly, playful nature rather than constructional; 3 Roberts’ Deanway Fairy Dust. PG (2): 1 BOB, Moon’s Foxhampton Fields Of Gold, presents a well-balanced picture standing with good body properties, appeals in head, good bone, excellent ribbing, good angulation, well-muscled quarters, moved well; 2 Daniels’ Ivcar Into The Woods, nice head, good bone, deep chest, well laid shoulders, good neck into shoulders, very well presented. Slightly longer in loin than 1. O (1): 1 Stally’s Ut Fertur Kr, first time handler in the ring with a rather lovely male & they put in a great effort. He has a lot to like & appeals both standing & moving with excellent disposition. Well off for bone, brisket down to elbow, strong throughout his body. Once this exhibitor & her charge nail the ringcraft, they could be very competitive!
