Thank you to the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge at this well run and friendly show and to my steward Jo Anna who made it great fun for me and the exhibitors.

GOLDEN RETRIEVER BITCHES

Puppy Bitch (4, 3)

1. Ambersun All Of My Heart. Pretty headed bitch with good ear set. Straight front, good length and return of upper arm, level topline. Well boned and stands on lovely, round cat like feet. Dense coat. Rather proud of her tail on the move. BPIB

Junior Bitch (6, 5)

1. Drumkilty Triskele. A very happy girl who clearly loves her handler. Balanced and well chiselled head with dark eye. Well sprung ribs, strong loin, well developed second thighs and wide quarters. Best Bitch.

Post Grad Bitch (2, 1)

1. D. Triskele.

Open Bitch (4, 2)

1. D. Triskele.

2. Riera Empress Of Lovissa (Imp Rus). Well balanced head with dark eyes and a lovely expression. She has plenty of depth, a level topline and stands on lovely feet. Preferred the shoulder placement of 1.

GERMAN SHORTHAIRED POINTERS

Puppy (2, 1)

1. Quintana Diamond Dust At Friarsbelle BPIB. Pleasing head, nostrils rather small. Broad ears, good length of neck, plenty of heart and lung room, short strong loin. Moves well with plenty of reach and drive.

Junior (1)

1. Winterwell Thatlldo For Desjiem JW. BOB. I love everything about this bitch. She is an ideal size, is short in back and stands over plenty of ground. Her head is divine and I love the slight rise in her nasal bone and her slightly protruding nose. Her coat is short and coarse to the touch. On the move she covers plenty of ground and has great forward reach. BOB. Made the cut in the group.

Post Grad (3)

1. Jomeel Now I'm Here. She has a lovely head, a harsh jacket, stands over plenty of ground and is very well muscled with excellent second thigh development. Moves well and excellently handled.

2. Jomeel Naughtylicious. Litter sister to 1 and whilst I preferred this head, she doesn’t stand over quite as much ground. She is deep in rib and is well angulated fore and aft.

3. Puddledub Pilis.

Open (7, 3)

1. Fayemm Sea The Stars RBOB. A lovely dog who is very well made with substance and depth. His head is beautifully chiselled and finished off with wide well opened nostrils. He uses his strong quarters to achieve forceful propulsion. In the challenge I preferred the eye shape of the Junior.

2. Jomeel Monkey Wrench. He presents a picture of power and stamina and has a handsome and noble stance. Clean cut head, good spring of rib and terrific feet. Moves well but a tad wide behind.

3. Goosepoint Waddington At Abbanash (AI) JW

HUNGARIAN VIZSLA

Puppy (8)

1. Vizslanya Csibe BPIB. A very steady and confident puppy with a pleasing head that was slightly spoiled today by having ‘winter nose’. She has a strong and nicely arched neck that fits cleanly in to well laid shoulders, a good forehand, wide quarters and moves gracefully.

2. Wente's Harmony. Just 6 mths old and experiencing lots of new things. She is beautifully made and has an exquisite head with fabulous chiselling. Has a lively trotting movement.

3. Szajani Ekko At Novapak

Junior (4, 1)

1. Glenbrows By Design BOB. A cracking dog that screams aristocrat. His head is lean and noble and correctly proportioned with a clear median line. He is robust in appearance and well angulated with a straight front and well developed thighs. Eye catching on the move.

2. Facanvadasz Banu. Pretty girl with a beautifully chiselled head. Moves OK.

3. Piroska's Lady Isteni.

Post Grad (4, 1)

1. G. By Design

2. Layways Stormzy RBOB. This is a very nice dog indeed. He has a noble stance, a great head and is so well made throughout. I preferred the tail carriage of the winner.

3. F. Banu.

Open (5, 2)

1. Danton Obsession With Tantaraviz. A very pretty bitch who is lovely on the move with great forward reach and maintains her level topline. She has a terrific forechest and well developed quarters.

2. Highforce Future Legend For Vizslanya JW. A strongly made dog who moves well. His coat colour was not to my liking but it was smooth and shiny and greasy to the touch.

3. Aldom Dark N'Stormy

IRISH RED & WHITE SETTERS

Puppy (1)

1. Coolfin Clancy. BPIB. Strongly built puppy who has such an easy gait; long strides and plenty of reach and drive, he certainly covers a lot of ground. He is athletic in appearance, has a true IRW outline with good forechest and strong bone. I would have preferred less occiput but otherwise I found his head very good indeed.

Post Grad (1)

1. Laoirebay Glenashleagh From Copperwhite. BOB. Another great mover with terrific tail carriage. She has a wonderful eye and expression, is very well made with a coat of clear pearl white and lush red. At first she was a little unsure of herself but when it came to the challenge she upped her game. I liked her very much.

Open (3). Any one of these three could have taken the class.

1. Cornadore Argyle With Copperwhite (Imp Pol). RBOB. A mature boy, well built throughout. He has a handsome head, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders and plenty of heart and lung room. Easy mover.

2. Roanjora Rioja Crianza. She looked very immature against the boys but I loved her head and she is such a happy girl.

3. Daithi Shadow Dog With Ferngate (Imp Pol). A fine example of the breed who has great profile movement.

AVNSC GUNDOG

Open (3)

1. Stanegate Stage Debut (AI) IWS. BAVNSC. She presents a stunning outline, has a beautiful head, big ribs and moves freely with a good roll.

2. Charmagen Viva Diva At Sanelle. American Cocker. RBAVNSC. Beautiful head, great forechest and ribs. I preferred the quarters on the winner.

3. Bonapartist Peaky Blinder Avec Aukskara. Brittany.

AV IMPORTED

Grad. 94, 2)

1. Braam De Triskelleau NAF. Barbet. BAVIMPRP. Profuse coat, dark expressive eyes, good forehand and a strong mover.

2. Majestic Raleigh Beckett At Hundr. Korthals Griffon. What a shame he didn’t like the markings on the floor but once his handler got him moving in the opposite direction, I could see his virtues. He has a fabulously harsh coat, a balanced and well furnished head and good body proportions.

Open (3, 1)

1. Magnum Kiss Curl Pickle Paulette Doubs Of Corve (Imp Fra). Barbet. BAVIMPR. Presents a rustic appearance and is so very well muscled. She has big ribs, a strong loin and a big bum. Moves well.

2. Nantiderri Dancing Daisy To Baikel. Korthals Griffon. RBAVIMP. What a beautiful expression she has. Carries herself well on the move with a great tail action.

AV GUNDOG VETERAN

I don’t know why they give me these classes to judge, I find it so emotional and they all bring a tear to my eye. It was lovely to see that they all went home with a rosette.

Dogs (10)

1. Stedigan All In Good Time For Merrem RL1EX ShCM. WSS. There is no mistaking his type. He is strongly built and workmanlike. I was delighted to hear that this win gave him the last points for his Veteran warrant. Congratulations.

1. Ferndel Fire Gem At Toftwood . WSS. I am so pleased to see that this very good bitch has got her waistline back. Well handled and presented and moved with a typical merry gait.

1. Bonapartist Peaky Blinder Avec Aukskara. This dog has the most beautiful head and expression. Moves on a short and brisk stride.

2. Dallandor Jocasta. Chessie. She is so impressive on the stack. I loved her coat colour.

3. Fayemm Sea The Stars. GSP.

Brace

1. NSDTR. A very well matched pair who moved in harmony with their handler.

2. Bracco. I thought this lady very brave to move round the ring with this strong pair.

Special Field Trial/Working

1. Goosepoint Waddington At Abbanash (ai) JW. GSP. A little leggy for my preference but his head is very pleasing and he is a strong mover.

2. Kulawand Kookaburra For Svenjak SGWC. FCR. A substantial dog who moves well but is rather proud of his tail.

BEST IN SHOW

I also considered the GSP, Gordon Setter, NSDTR, WSS, HWV and Irish Setter.

1. Sh Ch Ravensett Work Of Art At Alolfrana JW. English Setter. So elegant and clean in outline, his head is to die for and his movement is so free and graceful.

2. Fydal Caprio At Salmonmist JW ShCM. Pointer. Truly a series of graceful curves. Covers plenty of ground on the move.

3. Maycourt Stairway To Heaven. Curly Coat Retriever. Still only a junior but so typical with his wedge shaped head and small ears.

4. Dallandor Jocasta. Chessie. She has such a thick coat that is harsh and oily to the touch.

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW.

I also considered the GSP, Italian Spinone, Labrador and Cocker Spaniel.

1. Oakberrow M'lady Gin. HWV. Robustly built with a harsh wire coat and strong, ground covering movement.

2. Minstergate Carnival. Weimaraner. So beautiful and well balanced with a glint of naughtiness in her eye.

3. Glennara Cherry Cola. Irish Setter. Utterly delightful.

4. Bowdonia Truly Scrumptious. WSS. Only 6 mths old and what a steady moving and pretty girl she is.
