North Of England Hunt Point Retrieve Club

North of England Hunt Point Retrieve Club

29TH May 2021

Thank you for the lovely entry and to the committee for my invitation to judge, it was great to be back in the ring after such a long break for us all.

The youngsters seemed to take the whole day in their stride, at what for many of them was there first show, I only had one exhibit that was a bit cautious which was totally understandable.

There was a super atmosphere around the ring and was great to hear such applause for the winners.

HUNGARIAN VIZSLAS

Puppy (1)

1. Watson’s Oakswarren Inferno

A very smart young puppy, just seven months and a lot to like about him. He scores in movement which was ground covering and very together for his age. Head piece is developing nicely with good overall proportions. He has a clean reach of neck which led into a well-made front assembly, shoulder well laid back. Ribs and loin as they should be for a pup of his age. Quarters well made with good angulation, stifle well bent. Best Puppy. If he carries on growing in this manner, he should have a bright future ahead of him.

Post Grad (7, 1)

1. Armstrong’s BItcon Imagine That

A lot to like about this young bitch. Only nineteen months and on her first outing in the show ring, she has the most super outline on the stack and such a pretty head and expression. She has well laid back shoulders and stands on good legs with tight feet. Body of good proportions, with a decent depth of chest and ribs springing well. Quarters well developed, good angulation and hocks well let down. Had good footfall on the move but not quite the confidence she needed, which was totally understandable, and she didn’t hold her top line which cost her higher honours. I will be interested to see how she develops as she is very promising.

2. McCormack’s Roughshoot Onboard

Another young one, just eighteen months and giving a bit away to the winner in maturity. I liked her overall shape and style, however she kept going tense on the stack and making her angles look straighter than they were. Head pleasing and developing nicely, giving a feminine expression.

3. Aynsley’s Your Choice Mega Heist by Caorunn (Imp Swe)

Open (6.0)

1. Hardcastle and Bradley’s Vizslanya Sziena JW

Smart bitch with good overall shape and angles. Like her head and expression, lovely eye shape and overall head proportions which gave a good overall expression. Neck into shoulder is good, shoulders are well laid back and stands on good legs with elbows tight to body. Body short, good breadth to chest and ribs well spring. Quarters well developed, with correct angulation. On the move she had the better ground covering action which gave her the class and later Best of Breed.

2. Bradley’s Sh Ch Vizslanya Vivmany by Highforce JW ShCM ShCEX

One that has done well under me in the past, very much like her style and the outline she presents. On the move today she lost her shape and top line which cost her the class. Now rising seven still has quality stamped through her and oozes breed type. Super girl, thank you for bringing her again. Reserve Best of Breed.

3. Aynsley’s Recuerdo Monika of Caorunn

HUNGARIAN WIREHAIRED VIZSLAS

Puppy (4, 1)

Class headed by two siblings just seven month old and really enjoying their first experiences in the show ring.

1. Whitney’s Enryb True Blue

Lovely head piece on this young man, plenty of furnishings for his age and a kind expression. Well-proportioned throughout, shoulders well-set and ribs and loin developing as they should. Quarters have good angles at this age. Was more together on the move than his sister and took the class, very promising youngster Best Puppy.

2. Elder’s Enryb Skye Blue

As with her brother a very promising youngster. I liked her overall shape. She has a good front on her, a little longer than cast at this stage but she is very much at the growing stage. Super harsh coat. Needs to get her act together on the move but has plenty of time ahead of he to do that.

3. Cooper’s Deifstock Desert Rose

Junior (2,0)

1. Edminson’s Kisdon Goldhill

Lot to like about this young lady, she has a pleasing feminine head with good balance. Clean neck in to well set shoulders, she stands on good legs and feet. Body of good overall proportions, ribs springing as they should at this age. Quarters moderate and developing nicely. Better mover in the class, good action fore and aft, and in profile.

2. D. Desert Rose

One of those that hadn’t quite got her act together in her first time in the ring. 11 months old, was a bit tense and movement was stilted in the first class and she lost her shape, she got better in junior with a more flowing movement. She has a good overall shape and angles front and rear. Body well made, ribs starting to spring and loin firm. Quarters well developed with a decent bend of stifle. Coat harsh.

Post Grad (6,2)

1. Deighton’s Fourlums Tavaszi

Upstanding boy, three years old and very typy. Head masculine in expression with a good amount of furnishings. Moderate neck in to well set shoulders, good overall shape, quarters well developed. Super harsh coat. Best outline in the class which he held on the move, he had the more accurate action and excellent footfall.

2. Leiver’s Leiborschy Jussi

Four-year-old chap, full of type. Head masculine of good overall proportions. Stand on good legs and good feet. Neck into shoulders good, depth to chest and ribs well back, Quarters well developed with good angles. Not as tidy on the move as the winner today.

3. Moss’ Enryb Scarlett O’Hara at Ewtor

Open (6, 3)

1. Deighton’s Kisdons Attribute

This bitch really appealed, not overdone in anyway, she had super ground covering movement with plenty of drive, my only negative was her tail was carried a little high. Her head is appealing and feminine and correct furnishings. Forequarters are good with shoulders well laid back, stands of good legs and super tight feet, Body of correct proportions, chest well-made and ribs correctly sprung. Quarters well developed with moderate angulation. Coat is harsh and has the desired undercoat. To me she had bags of type about her and really appealed. Surprised to hear she is rising 8 years, in top class condition. Best of Breed.

2. Byrne’s Sh Ch Aldozovolgyi-Drotos Nador at Enryb JW ShCM

Last time I judged at this venue this chap was under me as a puppy, now four and a half years old it was great to have the opportunity to judge him again as finished article. I saw afterward he also now has his title. Very striking in outline on the stack, good overall balance and proportions. Neck clean, which led in to well set shoulders, stands on good legs, would have liked him a little tighter in elbow. Body of good proportions, well developed chest, and ribs correctly sprung. Decent rear angulation. Good in profile just a bit untidy as he came towards me. Reserve Best of Breed.

3. Forster’s Bellatar Venus
