Many thanks to all the exhibitors for the pleasure of assessing their dogs, also a big thank up to Dorothy and all her helpers for a very pleasant day with excellent catering. Finally grateful thanks to Roger & Yvonne for their help and support in the ring.

Irish Setters

Puppy

1st Corless SWIFTLARK ILLUSTRIOUS

Gleaming coat with good deep colour on this 9mth B – good head with oval skull and fairly deep muzzle – dark eye – nice flowing neck good length rib – well muscled and turned rear quarters – moved well.

2ND Heather SIXOAKS MY FAIR LADY – not in full coat – typical head – neck ok – would like more bone throughout – didn’t move to advantage – moved close behind

Junior

1st Corless SWIFTLARK INVINCIBLE This D certainly enjoyed his day in ring – good upstanding D with lovely typical head with dark eye and correct ear set – strong neck – slightly narrow across front - long in hock – moved ok when settled

such a happy D in full well presented coat . great head with dark eye – alert expression and strong jaw – muscular neck into well laid-back shoulders. Good depth and length of rib – well muscled rear quarters - hocks well let down - move with drive and purpose whenever asked BOB & Gp3

2nd Heather SIXOAKS LEADING LADY

Smaller B in good rich coloured coat – sweet feminine head and expression - good reach of neck – depth of rib ok but would prefer more length - moved ok

Good sized dog in full coat – colour not as rich and deep as above – oval skull strong jaw – good dark pigmentation – layback of shoulder ok – would like more forechest – level topline – muscular rear quarters - moved with drive but a little close Res BOB

Lovely happy B blue roan coat – pleasing head with correct ear set and good pigmentation. dark eye – nice amount of bone throughout – level topline and well set tail – feet ok – hocks well let down – moved ok ..

1st Ray/Challands ANNILANN MISTER MAI TAI

Brother to above, lots to like in him - masculine head square muzzle – muscular neck into well laid shoulders – correct topline – well muscled rear quarters – lovely firm tight feet – moved well with typical strong drive and merry tail. BP Puppy Gp1

Nice size blue road D in good coat – typical head correct ear set , dark eye – good feet -strong rear quarters - moved well

1st Fawcett HELENWOOD COOL BREEZE – super outline in the D - good head with strong muzzle –well covered and correct ear set - muscular neck – well boned legs – level topline - well muscled rear which he used to advantage on move - BOB

This was such a sweet baby with a super outline - moved well in this and group covering ground – feminine head with correct eye set and colour - good reach of neck – nice forechest – muscular hind quarters and strong hocks – dense short coat throughout – moved well BP and Puppy Gp 2

2nd Searles OAKMARSH INDIAN DREAM MAKER C.B.Ret. liked this good-sized B in full thick coat – broad skull with medium pale eye and happy expression – well of for bone throughout – good depth rib – strong rear quarters - moved ok but not with the drive expected

3rd Di Cesare HIGHFORCE I FEEL HIGH H.Viz.

Sweet head and expression in this calm B – lovely outline – correct short smooth coat – strong neck, shoulder placement ok - – strong straight legs into good feet – well muscled rear hocks well let down moved well.

2nd Carter FACANVADASZ BANU H.Viz.

Another lovely example of this breed being shown in super coat – typical head with correct eye colour and pigmentation - good muscular neck – straight front into correct feet – rib length ok – good rear quarters – moved well when settled

This delightful B was shown in full well prepared coat – sweet typical head with rounded skull , good stop and strong muzzle - good reach of neck well laid shoulders - level topline and strong rear quarters moved with flowing action .

2nd Whitfield BENOVER TICKET TO RIDE WSS

Pleasing outline – good head with strong muzzle – well set and length of ear – muscular neck into well laid shoulders – good for fore chest and spring/depth of rib – muscular rear quarters .. moved well

3rd ROSETTIA SHINING LIGHT NSDTR

1st Busby STANEGATE LEADING ROLE AT ZAKBY JW IWS

I have had my hands on this boy before and loved him then and I feel he is further

 maturing into such a great specimen of this breed. – His outline is so balanced and was shown in full dense crisp ringlets– he was a delight to go over with typical head and dark eye – good forechest and straight front – good powerful rear quarters which he used each time asked and moved with drive around the ring – had no hesitation in placing him first here with BAVNSC Gundog and later Gp1.

2nd Angus/Critchley PURDEX SHOWMAN Bracco

Stunning good sized upstanding d, who had such presence in ring with his balanced head, good lay back of shoulder, correct coat, good bone , deep and well sprung rib , super forechest good muscle tone which showed on the move. A worthy Res. BAVNSC Gundog

It was an honour to go over these two breeds which apart from their breed standard and photos I had not seen before.

1st Walker NANTIDERRI DANSIND DAISY TO BAIKEL Korthals Griffon

Pleasing head with an alert expression, thick coat on head and over body. Strong front with good forechest .. well off for bone, tight feet well-muscled and moderate turn of stifle, moved well around the ring

2nd Collins/Cooper PLAYBOY DES RIVES DE L’ESTUAIRE (IMP FRA) Braque D’Auvergne

More compact B again in good short dense coat – Good head with dark eye and correct pigmentation deep muzzle, strong front with good depth of rib well muscled rear quarters . moved slightly wide in front.

1st Watts OAKMARSH ACORN C.B.Ret.

Not in her best coat today but so much to like in this happy ‘youngster’. She certainly did not present or move like an 11 year old. Super outline , strong but feminine head , with happy expression, into good well-muscled neck and well laid shoulders. Straight front into good sized webbed feet.

Good depth and spring of rib, strong rear quarters and hocks well let down - moved with drive and enthusiasm, a credit to her owner

2nd Bradley ShCh VIZSLANYA VIVMANY BY HIGHFORCE JW ShCM ShCEx H.Viz.

This almost 8 year old B had the most appealing of outline. Well covered in short dense coat – sweet head with correct balance, well set ears and correct eye colour, correct amount of bone , would like a tighter feet, well-muscled rear which showed as she moved around ring.
