My sincere thanks to the wonderful Committee for their warm welcome and excellent atmostphere throughout the whole day, I extend my thanks also to my two ring stewards and to all the exhibitors, for making it a day to remember.

I prefer to address any general concerns in an overview, rather than individual critiques, my critiques are there generally to list the virtues I admired, which has always been my approach to placements. I wish I did not have any concerns. but I feel the elephant in the room need addressing. What on earth is happening to correct construction? Profile action and decent outlines are not the concern I have, they seem to be ten a penny. Coming toward and going away, the action was very poor in far too many. Lack of correct spring of rib was also a concern, having depth of body but without sufficient width is not becoming at all. Foreign/alien expressions, lack of zygomatic arch, lack of defined median line/furrow, poor eye shape, size or set was also a concern which needs addressing. Having said that, I was able to find the virtues I admire in a number of exhibits.

MINOR PUPPY DOG –1

1.- RUTHDALES ADONIS - NAF TAF

A handsome 8 month baby who is correct in mouth, has a dark eye of good shape, well filled under the eye, nicely pigmented throughout, with an ear of correct shape and thickness set on to a head of good proportions and used to advantage. Crested neck into a nice clean shoulder, nice width of chest and decent forechest on good bone and tight feet. Correct spring of rib, a level topline and a moderately angled rear. Correct coat texture. Nicely carried tail. Needing to firm up just a little more when moving away, which can be expected in one so young and well grown, but very precise coming toward and correct footfall in profile, holding his shape. He freestood squarely without assistance when asked. Well presented and handled BEST PUPPY DOG. In the challenge for BPIS he was full of beans and playful, his swooshing tail took on a life of its own which cost him in balance of outline against the well schooled girls as he kept resting it lower than the set dictates.

1.- JEAMARAS SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR SENSHA (IMP NOR)

A handsome 10 month lad who is correct in mouth, eye of good shape, size and set, well filled underneath, good head proportions, ear of correct shape and thickness set on well. Crested neck to a correct shoulder layback, nice width of chest, good bone and tight feet. Nice spring of rib, strong level topline to a high set well carried tail. Moderate rear, well muscled. Moved soundly in all directions, and stood squarely without assistance when asked. well presented and handled.

2.- LSA SUNDANCER AT TRAVISTOCK (IMP RUS) - NAF TAF

A well up to size youngster with correct mouth and eye though lacking in fill under the eye giving a very plain expression. Level topline leading to a high set well carried tail. Profile action was ok.

JUNIOR DOG

1.- REDWITCH THIS IS ME AT SHINZAM (AI)

A very handsome young lad who is well grown. Good mouth, dark eye of correct shape, set and size, with good fill underneath. Nice thick ear of correct shape, size and set on. Clear median line/furrow breaking up the head just right, adding to the overall expression. A strong crested neck, relatively short and broader at base, just as it should be. A clean shoulder with good upper arm, decent forechest, plenty of leg under him, as I would want at 15 months. Good bone and tight feet. Strong level topline, correct spring of rib and strong coupling. Moderate rear angulation, well muscled with strong hock of correct length, plenty of bum behind his high set, well carried tail. He has a very nice balance of outline, was very clean coming, going and in profile and his action was effortless with precision whilst holding his shape. He stood himself squarely without any prompting or assistance when asked to freestand after the down and back. Very well presented and handled. DCC - BIS

POST GRADUATE DOG

1.- WORTHYSWAY HIGHLAND SOUL AT CASAKURA

A nice headed lad with good mouth, dark eye of good shape and set, filled under the eye. Neat, thick ears of good shape and set. Crested neck to a level topline and high set, well carried tail. Nice coat texture, moderate angles all through, needs to settle on the move coming toward. Very well presented and handled.

LIMIT DOG

1.- GEILSAVEN DIDDLEY BO

A well up to size lad with a striking outline, enough leg under him. Lovely thick ear of good shape and set, strong crested neck, straight bone and tight feet. Level topline to a highly set, well carried tail. Moved well in profile. Very well presented and handled to great advantage.

OPEN DOG

1.- REDWITCH POLE POSITION AT KRISSIENITE

A well grown lad with a nice head, good mouth, dark eye of correct shape, size and set and filled underneath. Strong crested neck nice spring of rib and depth of chest, with forechest. Good bone and tight feet, a strong topline which he held on the move. He is mature in body and has moderate angulation all through and a high set, well carried tail. Moved well in all directions and stopped himself squarely without assistance when requested. Good muscular condition. Very well presented and handled. RDCC

2.-MEIHOS MAKE ME PROUD AT SNOWBEACH

Dark red lad with typy head, dark eye, neat well placed ear of good shape. Crested neck, good front, bone and feet, nice spring of rib, level topline to a high set well carried tail and moderate angled rear with well let down hock. Moved soundly in all directions and stopped squarely without assistance on request. Very well presented and handled.

1.- CH/INT/CH MELODOR HEART OF GOLD

10 year old amazing showgirl who I have admired for some time. Correct in mouth, eye and ear, a crested neck of correct length into a nice layback of shoulder. Broad chest, good bone and feet, nice spring of rib, strong level topline to a high set tail which she still carries so well, a moderate rear with correct hock length, she could still move with ease around that ring for as long as requested. Very well handled with an enviable rapport

MINOR PUPPY BITCH

1.- RUTHDALES BLITZ –NAF

Well grown baby girl who is correct in mouth, nice dark eye in a well proportioned head, thick ear of correct shape and set on well. Crested neck of correct length, good width of front, propped up by good bone and tight feet. Nice body proportions, good topline and high set, well carried tail. Moderate rear which is well muscled for a baby. Moved really well in all directions, and has a striking balance of outline, stood herself squarely without assistance when asked, she was presented and handled very well. BPB - BPIS

2.- CAUSEPARK I HAVE A DREAM OF MELODOR –NAF TAF

A nice balance of outline on this ultra feminine baby, dark eye not as filled underneath as I prefer. Ear shape, thickness and set good, a crested neck, good topline, high set well carried tail and a moderate rear, not as clean in action all through as 1

1.-RUTHDALES ELEGANCE AT CENT GLADIATOR (IMP ROM) –NF TAF

Another well grown baby who is quite mature in appearance for her age and has a very busy personality. Correct mouth, dark eye, well set ear, crested neck. Good width of front, bone and feet, strong topline to high set tail and a moderate rear. Moved well in all directions, well presented and handled. She had calmed down somewhat when recalled for the challenge for RBPIS to make a beautiful outline and hold it well. RBPIS

2.- CAUSEPARK COVER GIRL AT MELODOR – NAF TAF

Pretty headed baby with dark eye, neat ear, crested neck. Good feet, good strong topline high set tail carried tightly down the flank, moderate angle to the rear. Needs to settle at the rear in action

1.-SNOWBEACH’S SHES ALL THAT TO ROMINJAY

Gorgeous young lady with lovely feminine headpiece, good mouth, dark eye of good shape and size, thick ear set on well. Crested neck into a nice shoulder, broad front, good bone and feet, nice spring of rib, level topline to a high set nicely carried tail. She stood square without assistance as requested. Well muscled, moderate rear used to great effect. Shown in beautiful condition, her handler could do so much more for her, she got lazy in the final line up.

fawn black overlay girl with correct mouth, dark eye and crested neck. Good topline to a high set tail. Good feet and bone, not coordinated in front or rear at the moment.

POST GRADUATE BITCH

Very attractive balance of outline on this well grown girl, dark eye, thick ear of good shape, crested neck, good bone and feet, plenty of leg under her. Strong, level topline. High set well carried tail. Moved well in profile. Very well presented and handled to great advantage

Substantial lady with correct head proportions, dark eye of correct shape, thick ear set on well, crested neck into a good shoulder. Correct front, good bone and feet. Good topline to high set, well carried tail. Nice moderate rear with good muscle tone. Moved well in all directions and stood square without assistance when asked. Well presented and handled

2.- WORTHYSWAY LADY IN RED

Pretty headed lass, good mouth, dark eye of correct shape, thick ear of correct size, shape and set. Crested neck, good bone and feet, good topline and tailset to a moderate rear and nice hock length. Moved well in profile and going away. Very well presented and well handled

1.- SENSHA MADE YOU LOOK

Glamerous, eye catching lass who is well grown and mature beyond her young age, with a nice sculpted headpiece of correct proportions, good mouth, dark eye of good shape and size, well filled underneath. Thick ear of good shape and set, strong crested neck, of correct length, good bone and tight feet, level topline to a high set well carried tail. Nice spring of rib and firm loin, with enough daylight under her for her age. Moderate rear which is really well muscled and used to great effect. She moved clean coming going and in profile and stood herself foursquare without assistance as requested. Very well presented and handled. BCC - RBIS

Another out of the top drawer for quality, of different style, but an equally beautiful style, which I truly appreciate. Correct in mouth, dark eye of good shape and size, well filled underneath, thick ear of good shape, set on well to a head of correct proportions. Crested neck into a good shoulder, nice width of front, good bone and tight feet. Level topline to a high set well carried tail. Nice spring of rib and good underline. Moderate rear which is well muscled and used to great effect. She moved clean in all directions and stood herself foursquare without assistance, just as I asked. Well presented and handled. RBCC

I loved the type and soundness of both, handling just let the bitch down in this final line up because she was A framed, which only helped to accentuate the beautiful balance of outline on the male.

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW – RUTHDALES BLITZ –NAF

I loved all my puppy class winners. This baby girl did not put a foot wrong, her rapport with her handler was obvious. She simply walked into position, which is something I truly appreciate, she holds her comfortable self stack and demanded the win on the strength of her lovely balanced outline.

BEST VETERAN IN SHOW – CH/INT/CH MELODOR HEART OF GOLD

This beautiful 10 year old conducted herself with such grace and dignity every second she was in the ring, she truly enjoyed every moment of it and was a pleasure to put hands on. It was such a pleasure to admire her moving in any direction.
