Blackpool Championship Show - 21 August 2021

Thank you to the Committee for their kind invitation to judge, to my ring stewards who organised the ring so efficiently and to the exhibitors for such a quality entry. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and thankfully the weather forecast wasn’t as bad as predicted and I was able to judge outside and didn’t need to use my waterproofs.

Minor Puppy Dog (6,1)

1st. Wallis Lamancha Roll on Good Times

Cream boy in good coat. Pleasing head & expression, well boned with good feet. Good reach of neck, into well angled front, short coupled, level topline, kept on the move. Well-muscled for age.

2nd Loverock & Waldron-Smith’s Thornywait Save My Space at Lovissa

Another promising puppy with a nice head and soft expression. Balanced in outline with short couplings. Straight front, good bone and feet. Good rear angulation. Level topline. Moved truly. 3rd Dickson’s Glynafton Sundance

1st Brown’s Ipcress Oracle

Liked this boy a lot. He has a masculine head, soft expression and dark pigment. Put together well with good front and rear angulation and level topline. Moved well. Best puppy dog.

2nd Little’s King of Swing Qdore of Labgold to Bluebraes (Imp POL)

Another lovely boy with soft expression. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. Level topline and good quarters. Moved well. Just preferred the head of one.

Mid gold boy with pleasing head and expression. Nice reach of neck into well placed shoulders, good depth and spring of rib for age, short coupled. Level topline, well-turned stifle. Moved truly,

2nd Cooper’s Amilone Corsendonk at Dikeadaze

Paler boy and not in his best coat but lots to like. Lovely head and expression. Balanced in outline with good front and rear angulation. Moved truly.

Golden boy with a lovely wavy coat. Appealing head and expression. Good reach of neck, straight front, good depth and spring of rib, short coupled. Excellent quarters. Level topline kept on the move.

1st Kipps’ Cadwst Flash Flame to Wheatcroft

I really liked this young boy, he is so full of quality. Well-made throughout with a balanced outline.

Moved effortlessly viewed from all angles, keeping his tail level with his topline. Just right for his age.

2nd Bates’ Akenscales Waterloo

Another lovely boy with appealing head and expression. Balanced outline with good reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders, straight front. Level topline and excellent quarters. Moved truly. 3rd Smith’s Thornywait Iluminati at Goldmarker

Post Graduate Dog (10,2)

1st Robinson’s Baricia Emporio Diamond JW

Well balanced cream boy with good front and rear angulation. Appealing head, dark eye and soft expression. Deep well sprung ribs and short coupled. Moved well.

2nd Ellis’ Tenfield Rex Imperator JW

Masculine head without any trace of coarseness with a pleasing expression. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders and upper arm. Well boned with cat like feet. Nice turn of stifle. Such a happy boy both standing and on the move.

3rd Trinder’s Thornywait Ruffino

Mid Limit Dog (10,0) A quality class with hair splitting decisions between all dogs placed and think a bigger ring would have benefited some so they could get into their stride.

1st Loverock & Waldron-Smith’s Thornywait Space Cowboy at Lovissa JW

Appealing head and expression. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, straight front, short coupled with nice turn of stifle. Well-presented and handled. Steady mover in hard condition.

2nd Grainger’s Amilone Flintstone

A lovely boy with lots to like. Nice head and soft expression. Straight front, good bone and cat like feet. Good front and rear angulation and level topline. Moved well.

3rd Morss & Monteverde’s Olvinglay Soothsayer (Imp ITA) JW

Quality boy I liked a lot. Just not as settled on the move as 1 & 2 today.

This cream boy has a lovely head and expression. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. Nice depth and spring of rib, short coupled and correct turn of stifle. Well-presented and handled, in full coat. Moved well.

2nd Towers & Henderson’s Alibren Galileo to Westervane JW SGWC

Quality boy with lots to like he’s so well-made throughout with the most attractive head and expression. Moved truly but lacked the enthusiasm of 1 today.

3rd Copley’s Monchique Imperial Beau at Emmabe JW IR JUN CH

1st Trinder’s Sh Ch Thornywait San Valentino JW SHCM

This cream boy is so full of quality and a very worthy champion. He has the most appealing head with melting expression and is so well-made throughout with a balanced outline. Moved well with reach and drive viewed from all angles. Well-presented in full coat to complete the picture. Delighted to award him the CC.

2nd Archibald’s Sh Ch/Ir Sh Ch Abinvale Levanto

Another quality boy and worthy champion. Lovely head with soft expression. Good reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders, straight front. Short-coupled body with excellent quarters. Level topline which he kept on the move, covering the ground well. Pleased to award him the Res CC. 3rd Dunbar’s Sh Ch Linirgor Tomich JW

This boy is well made throughout with a nice head and expression. Shown in a profuse coat which made him look overweight. Moved well.

2nd Hodgson’s Fenpinque Romeo

Well-made cream boy who I have judged before and still like a lot. Unfortunately, not in his best coat today.

1st Falconer’s Soneve Simply Special for Siatham

Lovely cream baby in a good coat. Feminine head with sweet expression. Good front and rear angulation with short couplings. Moved well. Very promising youngster.

2nd Higham’s Lamancha Hope for Good Times

Another lovely baby with sweet head and expression. Straight front, well boned and cat like feet. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, level topline and nice turn of stifle. Just preferred the upper arm of 1.

3rd Loverock’s Lovissa Diamond Solitaire

1st McNeish’s Drumkilty Toodle Pip

What a gorgeous puppy who caught my eye on the first run round and I was not disappointed when going over her. She has a feminine head with dark eye and soft, appealing expression; well boned and cat like feet. Balanced outline, good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, good depth and spring of rib for age, short coupled and a good turn of stifle. Moved with drive in hard condition. Well done to the young handler for showing her so well. Best Puppy in Breed.

2nd Wyard’s Bermary Agatha Christie at Brandelle

Cream bitch with feminine head and pleasing expression. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders, short coupled and nice turn of stifle. Moved truly. Promising youngster.

Quality mid gold girl in nice coat and condition. Pleasing head and expression. Good reach of neck flowing into correctly placed shoulders, short coupled, level topline and excellent quarters. Moved out well with good reach in hard condition.

Feminine head, soft expression, dark eye and pigment. Balanced outline with good front and rear angulation, deep, well sprung ribs and short coupled body. Moved truly.

Liked this girl a lot. Feminine head, soft expression. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders and good length of upper arm, short coupled and excellent quarters. Covered the ground with ease with free flowing movement.

2nd Dunbar’s Linirgor Beauly

Mid gold girl with nice head and expression. Balanced outline with good front and rear angulation, short coupled. Level topline, kept on the move.

2nd Wynrita Hot to Trot to Amberson

What a showgirl, her tail never stopped wagging. Pleasing head with sweet expression. Good front and rear anulation, level topline which she kept on the move. Well presented in good coat and condition.

1st Lewis’ Lovehayne Bijou Among Fairwwinds JW

Wow what a stunning girl. Loved everything about her, she is so well put together and moves effortlessly with drive and purpose. Well presented in full coat and hard condition. This girl has attitude which gets her noticed. No hesitation in awarding her the CC, BOB and was thrilled that she later went on to win the Gundog Group. Many congratulations to her owners.

2nd Dunbar’s Sh Ch Linirgor Violets are Blue JW

Another quality girl with lots to like and a worthy champion. Feminine head, soft expression. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, short coupled and correct quarters. Moved with drive. Pleased to award the Res CC.

I can’t believe this girl was ten years old. Shown in excellent condition with a lovely golden coat. Feminine head with alert expression. Balanced outline with good front and rear angulation. Wellmuscled quarters. Moved well.

2nd Crookes & Jenkinson’s Sh Ch Stanroph Still the Same (Imp ESP) JW

A quality girl with a nice head and expression. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders and upper arm. Good depth and spring of rib, short coupled and level topline. Well-muscled quarters. A little unsettled on the move though she did move truly.
