1. Harris - Harrisburg Wreckit Ralph

Sturdy compact twelve month black with a lovely promising head, correctly proportioned with a particularly good stop for a youngster. Planes well set, muzzle square and nicely padded. Level top line, good bone and feet and muscled hind quarters for his age. A sound and merry mover, very well presented.

1. Fryer - Fonesse Dirty Dancing At Carolco

A compact and squarely built seventeen months black and white, nice for size with attractive breed outline. Muzzle broad and deep with definite stop, full nostrils, dark eye colour well shaped and set, correct proportions to slightly rounded skull. Good spring of rib cage, muscled hind quarters with firm second thighs, tail well set and carried. Coat rather profuse but of correct silky texture, top line held well on the move with a clean pair of heels showing on driving rear action.

1. Glover - Nasailleen Roosevelt at Mickcals JW

A sturdily built squarely shaped fit buff dog rising three years of age. Very well angulated throughout, particularly good length of neck, muscled and slightly arched. Strong bone and compact feet. Correctly proportioned head from muzzle to stop and occiput, good sound dentition. Level firm top line, slightly sloping, carried well on the move, his action was sound and true performed in a merry style.

2. Dummett - Letjashaja Ptitsa Saint Pierre At Almondsbury (Imp)

Two year black/white/tan sturdy dog full of substance. Slightly taller at the withers than the winner but outline still well balanced. Impressive fit condition with super muscled hind quarters with most impressive depth of second thighs. Head well balanced, well sprung rib cage reaching well back, short in the couplings with good depth at the flanks. Did not appear completely settled on the day with eyes not fully wide open and also a little too profuse in coat for me. Excellent bone and strong well rounded firm feet.

3. Harris - Harrisburg Once Upon A Dream

Rising two year buff not quite the masculine presence of those above. Slightly lacking in overall strength in the head but retains the correct level of top line. Nicely short coupled and moving soundly with tail well set and carried. Attractive pigmentation on show with complementary eye colour and eye balls well shaped and set, well presented.

1. Nelson & Morris & Bryant - Am Ch Ir Ch Sh Ch Silhouette Troubling Nasailleen

Top quality black brimming with style and breed essence, six years eight months of age yet still superbly fit, sturdy, muscled and active. A typical fit for function spaniel with delightful merry temperament and kind intelligent expression with soft appealing eyes beautifully darkly coloured. Muzzle nicely padded with deep stop, full nostrils. Ears correctly set with fine leathers and correct silky texture. Rib cage well sprung though would prefer a little more length of ribbing. Neck clean and slightly arched, quality bone and the best of compact feet. Firm and muscled across the loins, strong muscled hind quarters with deep second thighs. A powerful dog who really strode out around the ring with exceptionally strong drive from the hocks showing true movement both front and rear. The overall picture was of a highly attractive serviceable looking dog, keen to work, with refined chiselled head complemented by many other fine breed attributes. Highly deserving of CC and BOB, most pleased to see him shortlisted in the gundog group.

2. Manser & Manser - Toybox It's A Rap At Nujax (Imp USA)

Another top quality compact breed specimen just over four years of age, chocolate and tan would prefer a little more tan around on legs and feet. Beautiful head and soft melting expression. Slightly more appealing than that of the winner to me being so refined and well balanced with that extra strength and finish compared to the first. Very well angulated throughout with long muscled clean neck, slightly arched and very best of top lines with width and strength to the loins, a well sprung rib cage reaching well back with strong bone and the best of compact feet forward facing. Carried rather more coat than the winner but not to excess and most impressive mover with plenty of reach in front and determined drive at the rear. Excellent tail set and carriage, pushed the winner hard and a very worthy winner of the reserve CC, congratulations.

3. Jennings - Petts Wood National Treasure for Alibama (Imp Col)

A compact squarely built golden almost a veteran with a lovely proportioned head and kind intelligent expression, attractive dark pigmentation. Top line firm and slightly sloping not quite the soundness of movement of those above but went with a merry action.

1. Madigan - Misperros Savannah

Ten months black and white very well angulated throughout, notably correct top line presented in very solid condition for her age, strong hind quarters and developing second thighs. Muzzle deep and well padded, defined stop, attractive eye colour set and shape. Coat nicely textured for a puppy, moved merry with good reach and drive. Well deserving of BP.

2. Morris - Mycalleys China Doll

Eleven months black and tan sturdy and compact build. Typical top line, good length of neck set into well placed shoulders. Presented in pleasing body condition for her age. Not quite the spring of rib of the winner. Moving in a merry style.

1. Manser & Manser - Nasailleen Secret Agent At Nujax

Fifteen months most attractive black, excels in deep and broad muzzle with full nostrils, shoulders nicely separated with well sprung rib cage. Very attractive eye colour and shape, eyes well placed and set forward. Typical top line, strong bone and compact feet, a very sound driving mover. Coat with long and silky texture though showing slight rustiness on the lower portions.

2. Nelson Bryant - Nasailleen Rap It Up

Black bitch same age as the winner though not quite her muzzle finish or top line but very well presented and moved with determined drive. Pleasing eye colour and shape showing with a merry action.

3. Morris - Mycalleys China Doll

1. Manser & Manser - Silhouette Normandy Southbound to Nujax (Imp USA)

Three years docked black and tan lovely quality overall, attractive breed outline, hazel eye colour with delightful expression. Limited tan in places but beautifully presented with flat coat of silky texture, nothing to excess. Well sprung rib cage, typical top line, strong bone and feet. Moved with drive holding her top line on the move with a merry action. Well deserving of reserve CC, congratulations.

2. Glover - Mickcals Black Velvet

Black bitch rising five years of age also with many fine breed attributes though ear set slightly high and not quite the coat presentation of the winner on the day. Well sprung rib cage reaching well back, strong bone and compact feet. Muscled hind quarters with particularly impressive deep second thighs. Moved with a merry freestyle action.

OB (2,1)

1. Boyle - Zarcrest Choc Ice

Most attractive breed quality to an eighteen months chocolate/white looking so mature for her young age. Stood alone but most impressive in all departments, outstanding presentation, clean, nothing to excess, good length of coat, super silky texture with depth and fullness but only serving to enhance her excellent overall frame and construction. Lovely fullness to the head, correct proportion of muzzle length to skull, clean cheeks, deep stop, eyes full and forward facing, lovely chiselling developing. Ears set correctly of good length, strong, muscled neck, set into well placed shoulders. Solid muscled loins set alongside correctly sloping top line. Shoulders slightly close at the withers but still allowing for plenty of spring of rib cage with deep fall to the flanks. Beautifully short coupled, well angulated stifles with good length of thighs and solid muscled substance, hocks well set. Tail well set, thick at the base and carried correctly and merrily on the move. Delighted to award this stunning bitch what I understand to be her third qualifying CC, I am sure she can only continue in these winning ways when presented to this standard of coat and body finish.

1. Glover - Afterglow Moon Reflection at Mickcals

Seven and three quarters year old golden, still very muscled throughout in super hard condition. Lovely proportioned head retaining strength and attractive breed qualities with pleasing eye colour shape and set. Correct top line and excellent spring of rib cage, firm and powerfully muscled across the loins. In my opinion moving slightly wide behind on the day but very steadily for her age. Best veteran, congratulations.
