BOURNEMOUTH CH SHOW
Italian Spinone
Thank you to Bournemouth for giving me a chance to judge one of my favourite breeds again. I was thrilled with my entry considering how entries have gone down since we came back. I fill proud in finding out that both my CC winners were my two puppy winners when I judge at City of Birmingham last time, congratulations to both owners for showing them both in such tip-top condition.
As is well known, I love my time with the breed & I haven’t changed my opinion. I won’t spoil this critique by pointing out a few things that need keeping an eye on, you all know what they are & I am sure you will be addressing the problems to keep the breed as healthy as it is.
MPD (0) PD (2,1a) 1 Littlemore’s Inostricani Bell Ragazzo via Krissmoor, alone but a worthy winner, he is a lovely baby with a good profile both set up & moving where he was very steady for a youngster, good head, neck & shoulders with a good topline & well set tail carried correctly, in good coat, he has potential. BPD. JD (2) 1 Luff & Davies’ Beau, very interesting import who is balanced with the squareness that is required, coatless at present but that only shows how well made he is, lots to do to finish but with potential, lovely head & expression with a good neck, shoulders OK, moved correctly with good head carriage; 2 Collett’s Stagerun Matteo, heavier youngster, not quite so balanced as 1, he is well developed for age with a good coat, preferred 1’s head & eye & he is a little proud of his tail on the move which detracts from the profile of the breed in movement but with age, he should settle. PGD (3,1) 1 Culling’s Lucoru Fairy Tale of New York, lovely headed typical male, loved his expression & eye, set up he was balanced & when his coat improves, he should be challenging the best, good neck & topline, well bodied & boned with a well set & carried tail, in profile he has lovely head carriage & good footfall to match; 2 Collett’s Stagerun Kestrel, preferred 1’s head & outlook, in good coat & condition but again in movement, carried his tail a bit high in profile, good up & back with a good topline, good neck & shoulders with good skin. Slightly longer caste than 1. LD (7) What a lovely class to judge. 1 Sandy’s Milisimo Mulinello, won in such good company & I was pleased to see that at the City of Birmingham he was my BPD! So pleased with his progress, o/r from the top drawer, he has the desired squareness with a masculine head with the correct planes, excellent neck & shoulders, correct topline, in excellent coat & condition, good forechest & depth of chest, well set & carried tail, when he moved, I saw a typical, quality Spinoni with a lovely head carriage & well boned legs & feet. Didn’t recognise him but thrilled at the end of the day to give him the DCC in excellent company; 2 Dewar’s Macarica Harrys Rock, again another that won well last time, again never recognised him but he has matured well, good topline & tailset, in good coat & condition, moved well to win his place, he is balanced & a good type, loved his profile movement & head carriage. Very masculine in outlook; 3 Gill’s Testaverde Enrico Caruso Del Jocagil. OD (4,1) 1 Knowles & Glen’s Sh Ch/Ir Ch Aftergow Hashtag Scandal at Bessalone, 6 year old male I have liked before, the ultimate showdog, never stops show & is very balanced & a quality male, well made with a lovely neck & shoulders, good topline & well set tail, lovely bone & enough coat so as not to hide his correct construction, masculine in head & outlook, showed well but again RCC against the youngster, but thanks for bringing him back; 2 Luff’s Riccini Carluccio at Lyndyck, 5 year old, lovely masculine head & expression, obviously a type that I have admired often, didn’t disappoint, moved well on well boned legs & feet, in enough coat, good topline if a slightly higher tailset, lovely head & expression with a lovely neck & shoulders; 3 Gill’s Ch Teazledown Moonwalker at Jocagil. VD (0). SBD/B (0).
MPB (2) 1 Griffin’s Sanjika Jakira, what a yummy baby, just as she should be, love her squareness & good tailset, such a feminine head & expression, with an expression like that, she will get away with anything! In lovely coat & condition, she is a good size & moved so well for a baby. BP & I understand she also took puppy group 2, congratulations; 2 Coldwell’s Lucoru Music Of The Night, pretty 6 months old baby who was not sure of the show world but with patience I was able to judge her & hopefully gave her a good experience, so that next time she will be more confident. Hope she comes on as she has promise, has a good neck & shoulders, nice topline when she relaxed & such a pretty head & expression, will keep my eye out for her progress. PB (0). JB (6) 1 Kruglow’s Amberellie Rosanna, what a lovely youngster with a beautiful head carriage in profile on the move which was steady & good for age, she is balanced with a good topline, well boned & so very feminine, won a super class; 2 Longstaff’s Kevardhu Life of Rylea, cracking outline on this pretty young balanced bitch, lovely mover on well boned legs & feet, set up give a give a picture of a well made Spinone, has that feminine head that I look for with a beautiful expression & well set eyes, correct toplline & tailset, lovely type as I would expect from this kennel; 3 Rossiter’s Inostricani Eightpunts. PGB (8,2) 1 Kemp’s Pendio Letizia, such a feminine bitch with a melting expression from lovely eyes, good head proportions, good proportions with a good topline & tailset, she is balanced & moved with a lovely head carriage & purpose which gave her the class, enough coat but has nothing to hide, lovely type; 2 Fry’s Stagerun Skylark, mature feminine bitch of the correct make & shape, she is well coated of the correct texture, lovely neck & shoulders, well set tail carried correctly on the move, when she covered the ground on well boned legs & feet; 3 Mortimer’s Scodinzolare Perlescenti. LB (6,2) 1 Jones’ Inostricani Mima Am Charluben, very feminine, mature bitch of a good size & balance, in good coat & condition, feminine head & expression with a good neck & well set shoulder placement, good head carriage on the move where she covered the ground with ease, she has a good topline with a well set tail, lovely typical bitch. RCC; 2 Coldwell’s Lucoru La Salle, close up, well bodied & very mature, lovely topline & tailset, feminine head & expression, well coated with strong bone & good feet, showed & moved well; 3 Kruglow’s Amerellie Adrianna. OB (5,1) 1 Sharp’s Sh Ch Affilato All About Me, I ranted over this girl when she took BP at City of Birmingham & can only say that I reinforce my views. She has grown into a quality, typical Spinoni bitch from the top drawer, this proved right when she took the CC & BOB and went on to take Group 2. What can I add to what I have already written about her? Not a lot except to say she has grown into a well muscled, feminine bitch whose movement (even the final jump) is pitch perfect. Loved her head carriage & feminine expression, thrilled that she has gone on to become a Show Champion & fulfilled her early promise; 2 Littlemore’s Aurelia The Explorer of Krismoor, I don’t remember seeing this typical bitch before, she impressed with her lovely neck & shoulders, feminine head & expression, in good coat of the correct texture, good topline & tailset, moved soundly on well boned legs & feet; 3 Jones’ Inca Volata Am Charluben. VB (3,2) 1 Allum’s Sh Ch Rokeover Fair Dinkum Del Macarica, she is fabulous for her age, alone but could still win anywhere, in lovely coat & condition, moved so well, I love her type & balance, good topline & well set tail. Thank you for letting me see her again, she is a bitch to be proud of.
