It was a pleasure to judge at this well organised show, I thank the committee for their kind invitation and commend them for managing to run two championship shows on the same day so efficiently.
My thanks also go to my marvellous steward and the exhibitors for their good sportsmanship in accepting my placings. Front movement needs watching and this is something for breeders to consider in their future plans.
PD 1 Chandler’s Chanangel Jo Sugden, well balanced six month old puppy with lovely head, dark eye and well set ears. Good length of neck into correctly angled shoulders. Pleasing depth of body. Quality bone and neat feet completing the picture; 2 Thirlwell’s Ferndel Dare To Dream, pleasing head with kind eye and expression. Good length of neck into well angled shoulders. Longer in body than the winner and not so tidying moving at the moment but having correct amount of bone and tidy feet; 3 Clarke’s Tigerock I’m Your Man. JD 1 Clarke’s Tigerock Magic Woundabout, mature looking masculine headed young man with kind expression and good reach of neck. Well constructed with good depth of body and in fit condition. Sound mover on neat feet; 2 Ritchie & Scaife’s Waverleyline To Tobermory at Slapestones, lacking the maturity of the winner and longer cast but with appealing head and great reach of neck. Beautifully presented with quality bone, tight feet and expertly handled. Didn’t match the movement of the winner. GD 1 Tolladay’s Bethersden Brigadier, dog of a nice size, pleasing head with kind expression and well set ears. Balanced with adequate reach of neck and correct angles fore and aft, well coupled with correct depth of body and quality bone. Just lacking a bit of animation on the move today; 2 Douglas’ Chanangel Yorkshire Gold to Santallina, masculine headed young man with melting expression. Longer cast than the winner but with pleasing profile movement and quality bone. He just needs time to tighten up and fill his frame. PGD 1 Harrison’s Glenbrows Revolution, beautifully constructed and presented boy. Handsome head with well set neat ears and kind eye. He flows from head to tail and is a sound mover on tight feet. I feel he is one to watch; 2 Cocking & Barnaby’s Happy Gilmore at Ruskinite, one I have done well before but slightly unsettled today. Beautiful type with masculine head without any coarseness and good reach of neck. Correctly made all through as you expect from this kennel just didn’t match the performance of the winner today; 3 Murray’s Madsprings Dragon from Priestbeck. LD 1 Knowles’ Menstonia Minstrel, excelling in type with correctly proportioned head and good reach of neck. Adequate angles front and rear and well coupled. He moved soundly on well padded feet; 2 Morgan & Schofield’s Cwsscwn Who Knew, another one excelling in correct type. Beautiful head with mischievous expression and well set neat ears. Great reach of neck and correctly constructed all through with adequate bone. He moved well but wasn’t co-operating with his handler; 3 Osborne’s Trenzalore Captain Jack at Impycelyn. OD 1 Butler & Ritchie’s Slapestone Diamond Mine, this smart unexaggerated dog fills your eye, immaculately presented and mature he has correctly proportioned head, kind eye and pleasing expression. Good length of neck into balanced body with the right depth. He has quality bone and moved with drive on tight feet. Carrying the right amount of weight and a full coat completes the picture. RCC; 2 Oliver’s Sh Ch Glenbrow’s Royal Dragon, beautifully made and turned out. There is nothing exaggerated about this boy, pleasing head with neat well set ears good reach of neck and balanced with quality bone. I preferred the expression of the winner who I felt was also in harder condition; 3 Williams’ Isfryn Spot The Difference at Trebettyn. VD 1 Chandler’s Sh Ch Chanangel Sticky Wicket JW, this 10 year old dog fills the eye, so well put together with a masculine head, soft expression and correct eye colour. He has good length of neck into a beautifully balanced body with correct loin, quality bone all through and tight feet. Nicely presented and sympathetically handled. Sound and free moving I was delighted to award him the CC.
PB 1 Harrison’s Glenbrows Rhapsody, 11 months old and the most confident in the class. Well put together and pretty with beautiful head, good length of neck and balanced with quality coat and sufficient bone. Handled to advantage, she moved soundly once settled. BP; 2 Tyler’s Eirlandylis Georgia Rose; 8 months old, a size larger than 1 but within the standard with a lovely outline and appealing head. She has good depth of body and is correctly coupled. Not co-operating with her handler today which affected her movement; 3 Danks-Kemish’s Ferndel Dream On. JB 1 Harrison’s Glenbrows Paramour, 15 month old eye catching bitch who is both pretty and well made. She still needs to tighten in front but was expertly handled with quality coat, tight feet and good turn of stifle. NB 1 G Paramour. PGB 1 McIlwaine & Reynolds’ Benoveor Galway Girl, certainly all girl as her name states. A pretty, feminine bitch with correct angles fore and aft. She has correct depth of body, came in full coat and was well handled to show sound profile movement; 2 Chandler’s Chanangel Yorkshire Rose, younger than 1 and not so mature. Beautiful head, with neat well set ears and great reach of neck into correctly constructed body. RCC; 2 McIlwaine & Reynolds’ Benoveor Can’t Buy Me Love, pretty bitch and beautiful outline with appealing head and kind expression. Adequate front construction with good depth of body and spring of rib. Moved soundly with happy wagging tail. Unlucky to meet 1; 3 Tyler’s Tammano Teal at Eirlandylis. OB 1 Frost’s Sh Ch Bushwacker Something About Mary, this is a bitch I have admired from the ringside and I was not disappointed when I got my hands on her. She is the right size with an appealing feminine head, good reach of neck and beautifully put together all through. Short coupled with sprung ribs and the correct depth of body and with quality bone. In hard condition and moving with drive on tight feet she was sympathetically handled to advantage. It is hard to believe she is 7 years old. CC, BOB & BV; 2 Clarke & Sherlock’s Sh Ch Crimicar She’s Electric with Tigerock JW, 3 year old bitch similar in size to 1 with pretty head and good reach of neck into well laid shoulders.
