I should like to thank the Secretary, Officers and Committee for their most generous invitation to Judge 2 new breeds with Challenge Certificates at this most prestigious show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and the opportunity to assess many quality dogs and the sporting way that all my placing’s were received. The hospitality extended to me throughout the day was excellent.

I must add a special note of thanks to ‘Bruce’ my Steward for the day who assisted me greatly in the smooth running of my ring.

Puppy Dog (4,1abs)

1ST Moon, Mrs A L, Deanway Proper Charlie: Extremely pleasing puppy of 11 months of age, of good type and overall balance. Good overall substance, bone & muscle. Correct shape & balance to skull with well placed ears and biddable expression. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Coat of good texture. Very good forehand assembly and strong hindquarters. Feet round and well padded with short nails. On the move he demonstrated a determined drive. My pleasure to award this lovely young puppy Best Puppy In Breed.

2ND Beecham, Miss D, Albus Dumbledor Crumbledor: Another very nice male puppy of also 11 months of age. When standing he produced a very good clean and balanced outline. The best of heads and expressions, dentition correct, clean and complete, strong neck into well placed shoulders, straight firm topline which was held on the move. Feet round and well padded with short nails. Well muscled hindquarters. Just did not move with the accuracy of my 1ST placed exhibit – a lovely young example of the breed.

1ST Moon, Mrs A L, Foxhampton Fields Of Gold: I considered this young male of 2½ years of age for the RCC but the eventual recipients were more mature. I love the quality and overall type and proportions of this dog, very good head and expression, strong muzzle, dentition correct, clean and complete, strong neck into well placed shoulder, deep chest of good width, firm back and very good hindquarters, feet round and well padded with short nails. Moved at the correct speed accurately both fore and aft. 

2ND Swietalski, Mrs C, Fred Siop Ganol Into Bowswizzler: Another quality exhibit both well balanced and of pleasing type. A strong muscular dog without any coarseness. Typical masculine head with strong deep muzzle and well set ears. Dentition, clean and complete. Good and correct forehand assembly with deep chest and well made hindquarters. Feet round and well padded with short nails. Moved both soundly and accurately.

1ST Way, Mrs S J, Eald Village Poacher For Shuvick JW: Mature male of 4 years of age and of good breed type. Very good head and expression, strong muzzle and under-jaw, dentition correct clean and complete. Strong clean neck into very good forehand assembly, chest of good depth and width, well ribbed back into strong loin and muscled hindquarters. Moved soundly at the correct speed both fore, aft and in profile on round well padded feet with short nails. I was delighted in the dog challenge to award him a worthy RCC. 

2ND Graham, Mr T, Eald Dances With Wolves Among Nyliram JW: A very good example of the breed presented and shown well. 3 years of age. Pleasing shape to skull with correct clean and complete dentition. Well developed in bone and musculature throughout. Powerful back and loin. Strong in hock and round well padded feet with short nails. Moved well and soundly.

Open Dog (6, 2abs)

1ST Mr C & Mrs S Hastings, IR CH Bardings Bypolar Bear IR JUN, CHCW19, CJW19 JW: Male of just over 3 years of age. Presented on super condition, with coat of exactly the right colour and so well prepared. He epitomised type. Ideal shape to skull with kind, alert expression and eye. Strong muzzle of good depth. Correct clean and complete dentition. Ideal length to height ratio in body, with strong level topline level which was held on the move. Powerful loin and hindquarters. Good depth and width to chest shape well sprung ribcage with plenty of heart room. On the move he excelled, driving straight and true at the correct unexaggerated speed from well placed strong hocks on round, well padded feet with short nails. His enthusiastic tail action completed a lovely picture. It was my absolute pleasure to award him the CC, his first I was later informed and BOB.

2ND Alderson, Mrs S, Meggamooch Ulysses: Another male of 3 years of age. A different overall type to my eventual class winner but this in no way detracts from his virtues. Ultra masculine all through, strong head that could have been a little cleaner for me, correct and a clean and complete dentition. Very strong muzzle and under jaw, well made forehand assembly, well ribbed into strong loin and muscular hindquarters. Round, padded feet with short nails. Moved soundly whenever asked.

1ST Daniels, Mrs K, Ivcar Into The Woods: A 3 year old male of pleasing overall type. Correct head with lovely expression and eye. Correct clean and complete dentition, clean neck into good shoulder, loin of optimum length, a little straight in stifle, coat of good colour and texture, moved soundly.

Puppy Bitch (2)

1ST Collingwood, Mrs J, Deanway Fairy Story: A very nice young bitch presented in excellent condition. Correct skull shape and melting feminine expression and eye. Dentition correct clean and complete. Very good forehand assembly. Developing well in bone and musculature, she is extremely well balanced between forehand and hindquarters, which then produces a steady, straight and accurate action when moving fore and aft. A good topline enthusiastic tail action completes the picture together with round feet and short nails. 

2ND Mowbray, Mrs S, Crumbledor Bella Lestrange: Pleasing feminine bitch of just 11 months of age. Beautiful head of correct shape and kind expression. Developing well throughout, she has the cleanest of lines. Dentition correct clean and complete. Clean neck into well placed shoulder, moderate hindquarters, moved soundly on well padded feet.

Junior Bitch (2)

1ST Alderson, Mrs S, Meggamooch Winterfell: Slightly taller than I would prefer but so balanced and sound. Feminine head and expression, dentition correct clean and complete. Strong neck, well placed shoulder, well ribbed into strong loin, hindquarters muscular. Moved soundly on correct feet with short nails.

1ST Mowbray, Mrs S, Gainsmill Lilly Luna Potter At Crumbledor: A truly beautiful young bitch of just 2 years of age – very eye catching with clean and proportionate lines all through and extremely well balanced. Super head, correct and clean. Dentition correct clean and complete. Strong muzzle, well placed ears, clean neck into excellent forehand assembly, deep chest of good width, well ribbed into quality hindquarters, well placed hocks, feet round and well padded with short nails. On the move she had drive and was moved at the correct speed. Accurate when viewed on all profiles – she pushed so very hard for top honours, which were so nearly hers on the day. My absolute pleasure to award her RCC. I have no doubt that her day will come.

2ND Dr Z & Mr M R MCandrews & Hague, Ivcar Sweet Charity: Pleasing bitch of 2½ years of age. Bone and musculature well developed throughout. Good shape to skull with a pronounced stop and frowning expression. Well-placed ears and dentition that is correct, clean and complete. A lovely enthusiastic attitude. Well ribbed and with a strong back leading to muscular loin of optimum length; she moved around the ring in a positive fashion from well-placed hocks & strong feet and short nails.

1ST Matthews, Miss E, Foxhampton Fly By Night JW: A truly outstanding bitch that fits my perspective on breed type and of only 2½ years of age. Exudes quality in all departments. Presented in toned condition with coat of good quality and colour. Excellent shape to skull with melting biddable expression and willing attitude. Dentition correct clean and complete. Strong, clean neck leading into very good shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Good width and depth to chest, well ribbed into strong loin and the best of hindquarters. Quality bone all through. Very good from hip to hock. Strong round, well padded feet with short nails. Moved with accuracy at all times whenever asked and at the correct speed. It was with the greatest of pleasure that I was able to award her the Bitch CC, her first I believe.

2ND Hipgrave, Eald Village Gossip: Bitch of pleasing overall type, good head and expression, dentition, clean and complete, strong neck into good forehand assembly, deep chest, topline not held on the move, which was a little erratic making assessment difficult. 

Open Bitch (1)

1ST Davey, Ms V A, Eald Village Scandal JW: Of good overall quality and breed type. She is 4 years of age and has lovelt feminine head and expression. Dentition correct clean and complete. Strong neck leading into well placed shoulders. Deep chest with good ribcage and strong loin. A little down in pastern. Well made hindquarters. Round feet with short nails. Moved well at correct speed.

Veteran Bitch (2, 1abs)

1ST Davey, Ms V A, SH CH/INT CH Norris Northern Charm At Eald SHCM: A veteran bitch of 8½ years of age and a credit to her owner. Of pleasing overall type, still maintains a feminine head and melting expression, deep chest of good width, good forehand assembly, coat of good colour and texture, correct, clean and complete dentition, moved soundly on round feet with short nails. A worthy Best Veteran winner.
