I should like to thank the Secretary, Officers and Committee for their most generous invitation to judge at this most prestigious show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and the opportunity to assess many quality dogs. The hospitality extended to me throughout the day was excellent
Puppy Dog (3)
1ST Summerfield, Mrs R D, Miadsc Cast A Spell: An extremely well balanced young dog of 11 months of age. Free from exaggeration. Very good head and expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Strong neck leading to well laid back shoulder and corresponding length of upper arm. Well ribbed back. Good bend of stifle. Neat feet with short nails. Moved well both fore and aft and in profile. My pleasure to award him Best Puppy In Breed on the day.
2ND Whitney & Woods, Mrs S & Mrs V, Enryb True Blue: 8 months of age and of pleasing overall type. Well balanced all though. Clean head with correct eye and ear. Correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Clean neck of moderate length. Good forehand assembly and width of chest. Well ribbed into well made hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet. Good density to coat. Moved accurately fore and aft.

3RD Biggs, Mr P A, Tickle Me Pink: Dog of 11 months of age, still extremely raw and a little leggy – he needs to grow into his frame now, which will come in time. Correct in outline, pleasing head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Neck of moderate length and clean into forehand assembly that was a little steep in upper arm, chest of good depth and width, loin of optimum length, moderate hindquarters, moved soundly once settled.
Post Graduate Dog (2, 1abs)
1ST Collier, Ms, I E, Belatarr America: Male of nearly 2 years of age, balanced in outline, good head and expression with well set ears, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Strong neck into good forehand assembly, well ribbed moderate turn of stifle, moved soundly but economically.
Open Dog (3)
1ST Guest, Mr P & Mrs C, Bardantop Banoffee: 3½ Male of good overall balance and type, very good clean head and expression and well placed ears, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Strong neck leading into good layback of shoulder and depth of chest. Well ribbed back. Strong hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle Good bone and feet. Good coat texture. Moved soundly and accurately. My pleasure to award him Reserve Best Dog on the day.
2ND Spillane, Mr D & Mrs J, Belatarr Jupiter: An extremely nice dog just a little larger than my personal preference BUT everything is in proportion and he is free from exaggeration and retains his balance. The very best of heads with commensurate expression correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Clean strong neck into very good forehand assembly and angulation, very good depth and width of chest, excellent bone all through, level topline, which was held firm on the move, strong, muscular hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle, Excellent bone and feet with short nails. Good coat texture. Moved well with good open side gait.

Veteran Dog (2)
1ST Spillane, Mr D & Mrs J, SH CH Belatarr Hercules: I would respectfully suggest that this male of almost 8 years is a worthy champion in the breed. Perfectly balanced with everything in harmony and with exaggeration. Very good head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Strong, clean muscular neck leading into well placed shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest of good width, well ribbed, muscular hindquarters, excellent quality bone all through, tight neat feet and short nails. Moved soundly and accurately whenever asked – my absolute pleasure to award him Best Dog on the day.
2ND Collier, Ms, I E, SH CH Belatarr Mahalia Jackson SHCM VW: A quality and typy male of nearly 10 years who does belie his age. Pleasing outline in profile, very good head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Clean neck into good forehand assembly, deep chest loin of optimum length, moderately angulated and muscular hindquarters, moved soundly.
Special Beginners (Bitch) (3)
1ST Sauro, Mrs Z, Belatarr Pandora: Very typical bitch, pleasing overall – her rib:loin ratio is not her fortune. Quality head and lovely expression with correct earset, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Lovely clean neck into good forehand assembly, level topline, moderate hindquarters, good bone, neat feet, moved soundly.
2ND Linsell-Clark, Mrs, Twelveoaks Dandee Red: Finer type than my first placed bitch but pleasing overall outline. The best of heads and expressions, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Clean neck into forehand assembly that is a fraction steep in upper arm, chest of good depth but as with my first placed exhibit, her rib:loin ratio is exaggerated with her overall finer proportions, Moderate bend of stifle, moved soundly on neat feet.
3RD Lewis, Mr L L, Adel Liliana
Puppy Bitch (4, 1abs)
1ST Elders, J, Enryb Skye Blue: A beautifully balanced and proportioned bitch of just 8 months of age. Excellent head and expression with correct length of skull to muzzle. correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Clean neck leading to excellent forehand construction. Level topline, which was maintained whilst moving, good depth and width of chest. Very well ribbed back into strong loin, moderate and muscled hindquarters, good quality bone all through, neat feet and short nails, moved soundly and accurately whenever asked.
2ND Richardson, Mr S, Tragus Flirty Fox: Bitch of 9 months of age. Even taking into account that she is a bitch, a little too fine all through for me, which includes bone. Pleasing and head and good expression, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Clean neck into a forehand assembly that is too steep in both shoulder and upper arm, level topline, moderate hindquarters, neat feet, good coat texture, moved soundly.

1ST Cooper, Mr W & Mrs S, Deifstock Desert Rose: Balanced in outline, still very immature and only 7 days our of puppy qualification. Pleasing head, strong muzzle, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Well set ears, clean neck into forehand assembly that was a little steep in upper arm, good width and depth to chest and loin of optimum length, Moderate turn of stifle, neat feet, moved well.
2ND Linsell-Clark, Mrs, Twelveoaks Dandee Red
Post Graduate Bitch (4, 1abs)
1ST Nokes, Mr A R & Mrs S J, Trebus Tanselle At Goldpaw: A bitch of just 25 months, showing good substance and quality bone all through, ideally for me I would like a little more refinement in the head. Correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Good coat quality, harsh and close fitting. Clean neck into a good forehand assembly that was slightly steep in upper arm, deep chest and well ribbed, muscular hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle, neat feet, moved well and soundly.

1ST Aldridge, Y, Gwaithmaes Aoife: A bitch of 3 years of age. Pleasing overall type with balanced proportions and free from exaggeration. Good head, moderately broad and lively expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Clean well very muscled neck, well placed shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm, deep chest of good width, level back, her hindquarters were moderate in angulation, with good muscle tone. Tight neat feet, moved soundly and accurately. Harsh close fitting coat. My pleasure to award her Reserve Best Bitch on the day.
2ND Nokes, Mr A R & Mrs S J, Trebus Tanselle At Goldpaw
Open Bitch (1)
1ST Summerfield, Mrs R D, Ambermoore Tanzanite Blue At Miadsc ShCM: Super quality bitch who immediately commended my eye upon entering the ring. Of correct size and proportions and extremely well balanced without exaggeration and presenting an excellent overall outline. Excellent head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition with scissor bite. Clean neck. Well laid shoulder and return of upper arm. Chest of correct depth and width with ribcage of good length. Level topline held standing and in motion. Well made and muscled hindquarters. Her coat texture was not the best on the day - lacking undercoat. Super bone and the best neat feet. On the move she was accurate fore and aft and showed good open side gait when viewed in profile. My absolute pleasure to award her Best Bitch, Best Of Breed and I was delighted to learn that she was shortlisted in the Gundog Group.
