I should like to thank the Secretary, Officers and Committee for their most generous invitation to Judge 2 new breeds with Challenge Certificates at this most prestigious show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and the opportunity to assess many quality dogs and the sporting way that all my placing’s were received. The hospitality extended to me throughout the day was excellent.

I must add a special note of thanks to ‘Bruce’ my Steward for the day who assisted me greatly in the smooth running of my ring.

Graduate Dog (2)

1ST Davis-Green, Mrs A R, Abdecker Dancer: A very promising young male of nearly 3 years of age with a great deal to like about him. Super head, with dark eye giving soft expression. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Good layback of shoulder, although I would like a little more length in the upper arm. Well ribbed back leading to loin of optimum length and strong hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet with short nails. Moved with drive showing good open side gait.

2ND Jenks, Mrs J, Albadhu Hidden Potential: An overall pleasing dog in type and quality, larger cast than my first placed exhibit. Excellent head and eye. Good clean and correct dentition. Good depth and width to forechest. Good depth of body. Well muscled all through – I would like a little more bend to the stifle. Steady, sound and accurate movement.

1ST Makins, Mrs j E, Tarkanya Bonnies Brandy Mit Munset: Dog of 4 years of age. Masculine all through. Pleasing head and lovely expression, dentition correct clean and complete. Well balanced with good angulation fore and aft. Strong hindquarters. Moved soundly on neat feet with short nails.

1ST Day, Mr M E & Mrs M I, Waldo Vom Busshof Mit Alfriston (IMP DEU): This dog is now 4 years of age. This dog impressed me for his overall balance and very typical outline when stacked correctly. Excellent head shape, with dark eye and correctly set ears. Strong muzzle and under jaw with dentition which was both correct, clean and complete. Strong, slightly arched neck with the correct topline showing a gradual slope from the wither to croup. Very good width and depth of chest. Good length of rib cage with strong, loin showing the correct amount of “tuck up” underneath. His hindquarters are well muscled and he has a moderate turn of stifle. Excellent bone all through with good feet and short nails. On the move he is sound and true, covering ground with ease – showing a good open side gait and driving from his rear quarters. My absolute pleasure to award him the CC, his first.

Open Dog (1)

1ST Gregory, Mr A J & Mrs C, Jaudas Let It Rock: A male of 4 years of age. Correct head shape with well set ears. Strong muzzle with dentition that is correct, clean and complete. Good layback of shoulder with a slightly steeper upper arm than I would like. A fraction longer in the loin than ideal. Moved steadily once settled although erratic at some points.

Veteran Dog (2)

1ST Jenks, Mrs J, SH CH Kalabagh Lightning: A quality male of 8 years of age who does not belie his age in any way. Of excellent overall type. Excellent balance all through with good head shape and dark eye. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Correct forehand angulation with good width and depth of chest and well ribbed back leading to strong hindquarters. Good bone and feet with short nails – his tailset is not quite correct for me. On the move he was both sound and accurate in all profiles. It gave me pleasure to award him RCC.

2ND Day, Mr M E & Mrs M I, Raycris Constantin At Alfriston: A quality male of 8½ years of age. Strong head, which was too much for me with dark eye giving soft expression. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Good layback of shoulder with corresponding return of upper arm. Well ribbed back leading to short loin and strong muscular hindquarters. Excellent bone all through and good feet with short nails. Moved with drive showing good open side gait.

Minor Puppy Bitch (2)

1ST Arnold & Fleming, Ms N D & Mr J N, Asterpoint Maverick: Bitch of just 7 months of age and extremely raw. Pleasing feminine head with dark eye and correct ear set. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Good layback of shoulder with upper arm that is marginally steep for me. Correct depth of chest for age. Well ribbed back. Correctly shaped hindquarters with good bone and feet. Movement was true both fore and aft and when viewed in profile. 

2ND Powell & Morrell, Ms J E & Mr A E, Tureagh Crystal Cider: Bitch of just 8 months of age. Of pleasing overall type, typical head with kind expression, dentition correct, clean and complete. Clean neck into good forehand assembly, well ribbed, moderate hindquarters, very good bone all through, good feet and short nails. Not as settled on the move as my first placed exhibit.

Junior Bitch (1)

1ST Gregory, Mr A J & Mrs C, Jaudas Nice ‘N’ Easy: I really loved this bitch, stood alone and nearly 18 months of age. Presented an super clean outline, very well balanced, extremely good head with such a lovely expression, dentition correct, clean and complete, clean neck into well placed shoulder and return of upper arm, well ribbed into strong loin and very goof hindquarters, good feet and short nails. Moved and handled extremely well in all profiles; her tender age and rawness prevented me from giving her higher honours but everything I believe is in place with time on her side.

1ST Shemming, Miss A, Quilesta Just Captivating: An unexaggerated bitch of 4½ years of age. Correct in outline. Pleasing head and expression, dentition correct, clean and complete. Her forehand assembly is not her virtue, deep chest of good width, short loin and moderate hindquarters. Moved soundly.

Post Graduate Bitch (2) 

1ST Butler, Mr D A & Mrs B M, Toberworry Breaking Dawn At Jendella’s: Bitch of 2½ years of age. Very typical outline. Correct head and expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Good layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. She had good depth and width of chest and is well ribbed back. Well muscled hindquarters. Moved well with drive on neat feet with short nails. I was delighted to be able to award her RBCC.

2ND Ward, Mrs H J, Braccpoint Song Of The Wind For Gemlorien: A bitch of nearly 4 years of age. Slightly finer all through than my first placed exhibit. Excellent head and eye. Strong muzzle with dentition that was correct, clean and complete. Good layback of shoulder and correct depth of chest. Well set tail. Strong hindquarters. Very good bone and feet. Moved soundly.

Limit Bitch (2) 

1ST O’Connell, Mr T J & Mrs L, Jaudas Look At Me JW: I thought this bitch of 4 years of age was absolutely stunning. For me she exemplifies the breed standard and exudes quality in all areas.. Beautifully balanced all through she presents a superb outline when standing, which is then retained on the move. The very best of heads with dark eye and correctly set ears. Her dentition was both correct clean and complete. She has desired arch to her neck, leading through to an excellent lay of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Her chest is of the correct width and depth and she is well ribbed back to a strong short loin. Strong, well muscled hindquarters with super bone and feet with short nails. Moved well both fore and aft and presented a good open side gait when viewed in profile. In excellent coat and condition and showed to perfection I had no hesitation in awarding her the BCC together with BOB.

2ND Arnold & Fleming, Ms N D & Mr J N, Asterpoint Galileo: Another bitch of 4 years of age and slightly finer al through than my first placed exhibit. Excellent head and eye. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Good layback of shoulder and correct depth and width of chest. Well ribbed into strong loin. Well set tail. Strong hindquarters, her stifle was marginally too straight for me. Very good bone all through and neat feet with short nails. Moved soundly and accurately.

Open Bitch (3)

1ST Ogle & Suchett-Kaye, Mrs C & Dr R, Raycris The Temptress: Bitch of nearly 2 years of age who on the day won this class on overall movement and construction. There is too much of her for my ideal bitch size. Good head and eye, clean, correct and complete dentition, strong neck into correct forehand assembly, good spring of rib, however for me I would like to see more length in rib and less in loin. Strong hindquarters. Moved accurately and soundly in all profiles but was not steady when stacked.

2ND Robins, Mr A & Mrs L, SH CH Destanli Jedda’s Diamond: A bitch of 6½ years of age. Completely different type than my first placed exhibit. Very typical outline. Correct head and expression. Dentition both correct, clean and complete. Good layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. She had depth and width of chest and is well ribbed back with short strong loin. Well muscled hindquarters. Moved well with drive and accuracy. 

3RD Hewitt, Mrs A M & Mr C, Brockchime Frolicsome

Veteran Bitch (2)

1ST Darby, Mr G T & Mrs J, SH CH Brockchime Besta Both To Incadar VW RL2: A bitch of nearing 10 years of age and a complete credit to her owner, presented in top class and fit condition. The correct balanced outline. Superb head and expression. Dentition, clean correct and complete. Correct layback of shoulder and return of upper arm. Deep chest and long ribcage leading to short loin with the desired tuck up. Her hindquarters are well muscled and she has excellent bone and feet. On the move she covers the ground effortlessly. Thank you for bringing her today. My Best Veteran today and so well deserved.

2ND Robins, Mr A & Mrs L, SH CH Albadhu Talk To The Paw Dha Destanli: Another quality veteran this time of 11 years of age and for fear of repeating myself, again a credit to her owner, so fit and well conditioned. Very similar in type. Scores in her head and forequarters. Well ribbed with strong hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet. Moved soundly.
